It was already late at night and yet, just like the previous nights, ever since Xia Sinian was taken to the hospital, Li Bingbing couldn't sleep no matter how much she tried to do so, in the end, she would always end up crying to her sleep but that night, no matter how much she cried, sleepiness was not visiting her.

Every time she closed her eyes, she couldn't stop thinking of Xia Sinian's state. She could clearly see how much his appearance changed every time she visited him. There were times that she didn't want to visit him just to stop seeing how much he changed since it always reminded her day that one day, Xia Sinian might just close his eyes and never wake up. If it was not for her children, she might have already locked herself in her room.

After was.h.i.+ng her face, she went out of the room and headed straight to the kitchen but as soon as she entered, she saw Lu Xian Yu, pouring water in his gla.s.s.

After placing the pitcher on the counter, he turned to her with a surprised look on his face, "Why are you still awake?"

Li Bingbing ignored him and instead she took a gla.s.s and took the pitcher from him.

Lu Xian Yu watched Li Bingbing in front of him, he noticed the redness and puffiness of her eyes. Just by seeing those, he knew that she cried.

It was hard for him to see her that way without doing a thing. He felt his hard being torn to pieces as he quietly watched her drink.

He placed his gla.s.s down, "Bibi."

Li Bingbing's eyes turned cold as she placed her gla.s.s down after she drunk its contents. "Don't call me that way."

She pa.s.sed by him and was about to leave but she was stopped by him when he grabbed onto her wrist.

He pulled her to him and finally hugged her in his arms.

"Lu Xian Yu, what are you doing?! Let me go!" She tried resisting him, squirming inside his arms, hitting his chest, but he wouldn't budge.

"I know that you are having a hard time right now..."

When Li Bingbing heard Lu Xian Yu's words, she stopped from squirming. She stood still as if something held her in place, she felt as if something struck her heart."

"I know that you don't like me being here." Lu Xian Yu's soft and deep voice was clearly heard near her. "I know that... that you are worried that I might take Mengjie away from you after I learned that she is my daughter."

Li Bingbing clenched her fists tight. She wasn't worried... she was afraid. Even though she hated the fact that Lu Xian Yu was her daughter's real father, she has loved her daughter from the moment she was born.

The only reason why she didn't show her fear when she saw Lu Xian Yu and when she saw him take the kids away was because of Xia Sinian. Surely Lu Xian Yu was not that cruel to take Mengmeng away while Xia Sinian was sick right?

She has known Lu Xian Yu for a while and one thing was for sure, she knew that Lu Xian Yu wasn't cruel to children. If Mengmeng cried and asked for going back to Xia Sinian, Lu Xian Yu would surely bring him to him.

"You don't have to worry about a thing... I'm not going to take her away, I'm not going to take you away, it's not because I pity Xia Sinian, but because I am a man of my words." He already agreed with Xia Sinian's favors even though it wasn't easy for him. "I am not here to cause you more troubles..."

"Bibi, I know that you're having a hard time right now..." He whispered, his hug around her tightened a bit. "It's hard... I know it's hard, facing all your problems alone, especially with Xia Sinian's condition..."

Upon mentioning Xia Sinian's condition, Li Bingbing's tears burst out like a dam. She had always kept her pain away from her children, she tried her best not to cry in front of them, or anyone but why was it her tears was flowing down so uncontrollably in Lu Xian Yu's presence?

It was always like that, even before when they were still together, she would always end up crying in front of Lu Xian Yu and the reason of her tears was still the same, it was all because of Xia Sinian.

He felt his s.h.i.+rt wet and he heard soft sobs coming from her. He stroked her head gently without saying a word, allowing her to pour her pain out on him.

Li Bingbing clenched tight on his s.h.i.+rt, her face buried on his chest as her broken voice was heard, "I... I don't want him to leave me, Xian Yu... I'm afraid... I'm so afraid that one day... one day... I will never be able to talk with him, hug him, kiss him, hold him... I don't want him to leave me..."
