After staying for a while in the hospital, it was getting late at night that Li Bingbing and her children had to say goodbye for the day to Xia Sinian. Lu Xian Yu accompanied them until the entrance of the hospital, carrying the bags with the things that he bought for the children.

Li Bingbing was carrying her sleeping son while Mengmeng walked beside her.

"I can take you home." Lu Xian Yu offered even if he knew that Li Bingbing would probably decline it.

Li Bingbing was about to decline his offer when she suddenly heard her daughter yawn out, her hold on her hand was loosening. "Mama, can't we sleep with papa instead?"

"Visiting hour is over, darling. We can visit him tomorrow again." She then turned to Lu Xian Yu and asked, "Do you have a car with you?"

"Yes."

"Then what are you waiting for? Get it."

He blinked a few times before he let out a soft chuckle, that part of Li Bingbing didn't change, if she needed something, she would straightforwardly ask for it.

Without further ado, Lu Xian Yu quickly went and took his car from the parking lot, putting the things in the car's trunk.

Meanwhile, Mengmeng was trying to keep herself awake while she was standing beside her mother.

"Mengmeng, did you know that your grandparents and my baby brother and sisters are coming to your birthday?" Li Bingbing tried to keep Mengmeng awake by talking to her.

Mengmeng blinked her sleepiness away as she raised her head to look at her mother with an excited smile, "Really? Mengmeng can finally meet grandpa and grandma?"

"Yup! We are going to have so many guests since Qinqing's birthday is also in the same week, it will be a double celebration."

"Mengmeng is so excited! I bet Qinqing will be excited too!" She looked at her little brother who was sleeping peacefully in her mother's arms. "Papa also promised that we will go to the zoo so Mengmeng can't wait!"

Just then, a car stopped in front of them. Lu Xian Yu went out from the driver's seat before he went and opened the back door for them, "I'm sorry for making you wait."

"Daddy should come too! We're going to the zoo in Mengmeng's birthday, daddy!"

He smiled at his little girl, "Really?"

"Yes! Papa said that the zoo has so many animals so Mengmeng is really excited to go!"

Li Bingbing cleared her throat, "Let's talk about this some other time, let's get going."

As soon as they got in, it started raining. On their way back, Mengmeng talked a few more things about her birthday before she fell asleep. It became quiet in the car the moment she fell asleep.

Upon arriving at her place, Li Bingbing and Lu Xian Yu carried the sleeping kids to their room. After placing them on the bed and leaving their room, Li Bingbing faced Lu Xian Yu, "Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me. Anyway, I think I should get going."

Hearing the thunderclap outside and the sound of heavy rain, Li Bingbing was hesitant on making Lu Xian Yu stay.

As she watched Lu Xian Yu's back as he walked toward the door, she called out to him, "Wait."

He turned to her, "Hm?"

"I think you should stay here for the night."

Lu Xian Yu stared at her for a while. It has been so long since he was able to look closely at her. Her eyes looked tired and the dark bags under her eyes made her look like she was sleepless for days. Aside from that, she looked like she has lost weight. Her lips were chapped. It looked like she was not taking care of herself. Was it because of taking care of the kids alone now that Xia Sinian was in the hospital? Or was it the stress of having known that her husband was sick and dying?

Even if she looked that way, she was still beautiful in his eyes. He badly wanted to hold her in his arms but he tried his best to control his desires.

"We have one room available, you can use it," said Li Bingbing as she turned away from him. "Come, I'll show you to your room."
