93 Town Of Monster Hunters 2

Looking around the town of monster hunters Lux wasn't really that impressed. The town/outpost was constructed out of mostly salvaged materials and build into the rock spire. Building was mostly made out of what looked like driftwood. The shoddy construction of buildings inside the outpost aside water was a rare resource so bathing was a rare event in of itself, and combine that with the fact that monster hunters was not the most cleanly demographic the entire outpost had a special smell that further detracted from Lux's evaluation.

"Why would we even want to enter this town? Let's just stay outside with Zephyr and Iris."

Lilly too was not fond of the town's smell and held her nose in disdain while looking around at the unkept monster hunters that was going along with their day.

"No we need to visit the market and restock on raw metals to resupply the 0999's."

Terra seemed to be the only person that wanted to be there, and voiced her reasoning that Lux had to agree with.

"That seems boring, I'm going back."

Lilly however didn't share Terra's and Lux's enthusiasm and turned around to leave the dirty outpost and never return.

"Will you be alright on the way back?"

"Ka ka ka! If anyone tries anything funny with me I'll make sure they regret it, just before I plaster them all over the area."

Laughing with a smug smile on her face Lilly made sure to speak loud enough that the nearby hunter could hear her while she circulated mana trough her body that made any mana sensitive hunters s.h.i.+ver.

"Okay then, but take care."

Saying goodbye to Lilly Terra turned her head towards Lux before she did a small nod. Lux instantly understood the signal and quietly put her one hand on the pocket of her pants as they approached the blacksmithing area of the town.

"Okay so these blacksmiths are extremely dedicated to their crafts, more like they're insane to go all the way out here to repair and maintain weapons and practice their craft with nothing but the extreme bare essentials. Let me do the talking."

Entering a more professional looking wooden construction the air filled with the smell of metal and as they headed insíde they were surrounded by dirty weapons and armor piled haphazardly.

"h.e.l.lo!?"

Calling out into the room there was no response from inside and the girls decided to heard further inside the smithy shop.

"Anyone alive in here!?"

"We're closed!"

A rough sounding and elderly voice sounded out as a response to Terra's shout, prompting Terra to smile at Lux before she responded to the voice coming from the back of the shop.

"Is that so? Then let's trade these raw metals somewhere else Lux!"

"W-w-wait a minute! Did you say raw metals!? I'll be right out!"

Hearing something scrabeling in the back like a rat out of h.e.l.l Lux whispered to Terra.

"Why the h.e.l.l is he freaking out?"

"These guys love their craft, out here they mostly work with used a salvaged materials. New, raw metal bars are like pure crack cocaine for these people."

Right as Terra was done explaining what looked to be an old beastkin emerged from the back of the shop, he wore a thick and filthy leather ap.r.o.n with a red bandana wrapped around what was left of his white and gray hair that sported 2 wolf looking ears on top of his head. The smiths eyes were not showing his age at all, with youthful spirit still showing in his deeply brown eyes, the rest of his face was overall unkempt, with a scruffy slightly singed gray beard that outlined his clear sharp jawline with a large mouth that twisted into a frown upon seeing the visitors.

"What the h.e.l.l are you brats doing in here there's no way you have anything. I… Want… Where the h.e.l.l did you get that!? How many do you have!? And can I buy them?!"

As the smith complained seeming what was obviously not metal traders Terra pulled out a 5 kg bar of pure steel that the smith quickly rushed towards and started rubbing his cheek on as he fired off questions at an awesome rate.

"We brought them from Kingstead, there's about 200 kilos we're willing to sell and you can buy them for a mix of sulfur, food rations and clean water."

Answering the questions in a quick fire manner Terra put on a smile as she continued squeezing.

"But we can see that you're busy and not willing to trade so we'll find someone else. Good day."

As Terra packed up the steel bar and started walking towards the exit, the smith's face paled as his pure crack cocaine of the highest purity was taken away from him.

"N-n-now wait a second missy, I have the best connections in town! This is the only place you'll be able to unload such a large load of raw materials!"

"Yeah you're properly correct, but I find the manners of the trader much more important. We will trade what we can here and then off load the last of our goods somewhere else, Lux let's go."

"... Sure."

Not really liking Terra's type of extortion Lux agreed after a few seconds, and recently started leaving when they both was blocked by the smith.

"Okay! Okay! I understand missy! Let's talk business!"

The reason Terra decided to carry metals on the far journey was because of the relatively high density of the goods, and extremely high value raw and pure metals had in isolated places like the town of monster hunters. Theoretically speaking it would be possible to carry most of the food and water for the entire trip, but it was much easier to just trade for it. At the same time as Terra was extorting the blacksmith for all his was worth Lilly was taking a walk around the town. Even if she hated the smell of the town Lilly had been stuck in elven territory for most of her long life, and therefore was curious of the outside world and all its contents.

"Nnn? Is that a bar?"

Looking around the shoddy town Lilly spotted a sign with a picture of a gla.s.s of beer on it. As if drawn like a moth to a flame Lilly wandered over to the bar, but was soon blocked by a group of monster hunters in somewhat uniform equipment.

"Now look what we have here, she sure did arrive like we were told, what are we gonna do Henric?"

"Shut up and stick to the orders."

Catching them quietly speaking to each other Lilly's lips curled up into a large demonic smile.

"Finally real some exercise.. It has been a while~"

Using subtle wind magic Lilly scanned the hunters from head to toe and found something interesting.

"Follow us quietly if you want to-"

"Now now children that sure is some interesting weaponry you all have there, is it wrong to call it a modified Rex rifle... No, the base is a pistol that has been modified~ Now that sort of weapon does not belong to you people, so please repay me for them with your life~"

Releasing bloodl.u.s.t unlike they had never sensed the small demonic looking elver looked like the incarnation of death.
