430 Revenge 431: Zen's Assignmen

"But it's your grandfather. He doesn't really like me, Lannie." Anna said with a pout. From what she heard from her grandfather, Elijah Robertson still refuses to believe that truth about his sister's death. And in other words, he still reluctant to liking any of the Coleman family members.

"Please. Don't say that, you never know unless you actually show up to spend time with my dear grandfather." Actually, Lannie thinks that her grandfather is still against the whole Anna and Kyle thing, but she's hoping, deeply hoping that is not the case.

"Your face says otherwise." Lannie may not verbally say what she actually thinks about this set-up, her expression is telling Anna something else. "You are very encouraging right now," Anna said sarcastically.

"Anna, stop worrying about now. You can worry about it later, so just help me with this a.s.signment of mine." Zen said with full of worry in his face. He wasn't listening to the whole conversation that the two girls are having, but it's clear to him that Anna is worried about something, but then again, he does not care.

All he cares about right now is his a.s.signment that he has forgotten to do last night.

"Excuse me? That's not how you ask for help, you idiot." Lannie said with a frown on her face. Zen can sometimes be so needy and pushy, and whenever he is like this, he sometimes forgot to mind his proper manners.

"I'm sorry. It's just that, this cla.s.s is right after the break, and I haven't been able to finish half of it." Zen felt like he is about to cry thinking that he is going to have extra work if he doesn't show that he finished his a.s.signment. "This cla.s.s' teacher is extra scary, so, please! Help me!"

"Why didn't you just ask Josh for help? Aren't both of you in the same cla.s.s?" Anna asked as she takes a glance at Josh who is currently eating his sandwich peacefully. Clearly, he's acting as if they aren't close to him.

"This guy?" Zen started as he points at Josh. "He said he won't help me and that this is my problem. I know that this is my problem, but the teacher! I can't!" Earlier this morning, when Zen arrived in the cla.s.sroom, he went straight to where Josh is sitting.

Before he could even say what he wants to say to Josh, Josh immediately turned him down.

"Well, it is true that that problem is yours and yours alone." Aaron who is enjoying Zen's dejected face showed a smirk to him.

"Oh. Shut up!" Zen replied, then he faces Anna again while holding both of her hands. "Please, Anna. You are my one and only hope."

Anna stared at Zen and the longer she stared at him the harder it is for him to reject him. Zen looks like an abandoned puppy, and she can't refuse abandoned puppies like him. "Fine!" She said.

"Anna, you shouldn't give in to him. If you do that, he will get used to it and will take advantage of you." Josh spoke in a matter-of-fact tone. Zen heard what he said and only glared at him.

"It's only a one-time thing, I promise that it won't happen again. And besides, I will tell Aunt Andrea that Zen is being lazy to do his a.s.signments." Anna promised that this is going to be the first and the last time she will help Zen with his a.s.signments. Also, if Zen ever comes to her again, she will have to call his mother and report to her.

"W-What? Now that is unfair." Zen pouted, but Anna didn't reply and only pinched his cheeks.

"Wait. Am I not your friend?" Lannie suddenly asked Zen and the only responseĀ he to Lannie is a confused look on his face. "I mean, you haven't asked me to help you with this. Or is it because you think I'm not smart enough to help you?"

From the sound of this, Zen has this feeling that this conversation is going to be a childish one. But even knowing that, he still responded to her. "Of course, you are my friend and I think that you're very smart. It's just that I don't think that I can work with you."

"You think you can't work with me? Now, that is mean." Everyone that she is been with, they all think that she is fun to be with. None of those people have ever told her that they don't like working with her. Zen is the first one to tell her that. "Why? Why do you think that way?"

With a straight expression plastered on his face, Zen replied. "Because you are just like me. When it is time to get serious, we both can't get serious. We need someone to tell us to get serious. And if we work together, do you really think that we can get serious without anybody else to us?"

After hearing that, Lannie falls into deep contemplation. Slowly she is starting to understand the point Zen is making. "You are right." She said with both of thumbs up.

"Oh, G.o.d. What's the point of that conversation they are having?" Aaron whispered to his sister. He is not quite sure if both Lannie and Zen are having a serious conversation or a comical conversation. But either way, he thinks that they both are being stupid.

"Oh, let them be, brother. They are just being them. That is just how is it." Just like her brother, Anna also thinks that the conversation Lannie and Zen are having is pointless, but she finds it very interesting that they both understand each other's thinking.

"Anyways, where is Nathalia? I have not seen her since yesterday. Is everything okay?" Lannie asked. Ever since Anna told her that something did happen between Aaron and Nathalia, she has been curious about the details.

She wanted to call Aaron, but the answer she would be getting is going to be nonsense, that's why she removed Aaron from her options. As for Nathalia, she tried to call her, but her phone is unreachable.

"I have not heard anything from her. I visited her house yesterday, but her whole family was not there. And when I asked my father, he said that he no information." Josh replied.

"Basing on your tone of voice, it seems to me that you're not worried about Nathalia." It's a rare sight for Lannie to see that neither Zen or Josh is a bit worried about what happened to Nathalia. And because of that, Lannie's mind is starting to wonder if the three of them had a fight.

"There is nothing to worry about. Nathalia is with her father, a very skillful man. I can't even compare. So, it means that Lannie is safe. And also, we didn't have a fight. It's just that Nathalia forgot to say anything to us." As long as Josh knows who is with Nathalia, he would worry.

There is no use for him to worry about Nathalia all the time because Nathalia is already at the age where she can make decisions for herself. Also, he is only a childhood friend to Nathalia, if he overly worries about her, then that would make him look like he's obsessed with her, in which he is not.

"You look so down, is it because of your a.s.signment?" Lannie asked.

Currently, Lannie and Anna decided to visit the basketball team practice, and by the time they got at their destination, they Zen sitting on the bench looking so dejected.

"What? The a.s.signment? How can that be? I mean, I helped. I'm sure the answers were good." Since she was the one who helped Zen with the answers, Anna is slightly worried that she might have caused some troubles to Zen.

"No. No." Zen shakes his head. "The a.s.signment was great. My teacher almost believed that someone helped me with it, but that is not the problem I'm having right now."

"Girls, you don't need to mind him. He is just bein too dramatic." Aaron who just happens to overhear their conversation suddenly barged in.

"I'm not being dramatic, Aaron," Zen spoke, defending himself.

"Yes. You are being dramatic." Just remembering what happened before the girls came to visit them, Aaron can only shake his head in disbelief. "Unbelievable. You and Josh are so unbelievable."

"Come on! Don't say that when you are were also surprised."

"Hey, there are two people over here who have no idea what you guys are talking about. And also, where is Josh? I don't see him anywhere." When Anna heard that Josh is also involved, she looked around to find where he is, but she could not see him anywhere.
