4 Chapter 4:

I sat against the wall, plotting my suicidal plan before the deadlock clanked off the door and revealed a few a.s.sa.s.sins. They looked a little frightened to have gotten the job for fetching the f.u.c.ker who killed one of their best mages, but little did they know I was hatching a plan to bring this place down to h.e.l.l with me.

Please forgive me moon G.o.ddess.

I slowly stood up, the s.h.i.+rt and shorts I had on slowly cascading down my body when I narrowed my eyes at the dead witch on the ground. My throat tightened at the anger I felt for the man, but I knew he deserved to die.

Just like these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds.

Though I did want to bone someone before bringing this place down with style.

With all this alcohol in my system, I felt like I could get through f.u.c.king a random man paying for a night with me.

Of course, the pleasure of murdering him as he slept was far greater to me than anything. Men like that man deserves to die for abusing women in such a way.

It was all going to end tonight, whether these people begged me for mercy or not.

They were going to die in my hands.

As I took small steps towards the adjacent door, I noticed the low-level mages s.h.i.+ft away from me. Their fear only promoting my tired body to continue.

"What do you want pipsqueak? You want to end up like that mage?" I question the mage in my way, nodding over to the dead body that still laid there. A s.h.i.+ver went through the mage as she quickly moved out of my way and pushed back the other mages. "Thought so." I snarl, only scaring the s.h.i.+t out of them more.

They didn't say a word towards me when I started walking in the direction of where the arena rested. It wasn't like I was new to this, I'd done it some many times that I knew exactly when and where I was supposed to wait for my name to be called.

However, that was going to end tonight.

The mages meekly followed behind me as if this was their first time here while I narrowed my gaze towards the truce of weak mages. I could tell that the girl was a little braver than the two boys that looked like twins, but her fear was apparent.

Strange.

What was it they wanted?

"Ah. I see you've met your proteges." The a.s.sa.s.sin sliced through my thoughts when I glanced away from the mages and glared deadly at him.

"What?" I question but I knew exactly what he said.

There was no way in h.e.l.l I was taking care of a couple of pathetic mages.

This wasn't happening.

I'd rather kill myself before letting a few mages follow me around like lost puppies.

"You heard me. Don't play that silly game." He teases, his voice full of amus.e.m.e.nt as I narrowed my eyes at him. "They will be joining you in the arena. Which means there are three other opponents this time." He adds, my eyes nearly falling out of my head at the thought.

I couldn't take four of them on my own and protect them.

G.o.d f.u.c.king d.a.m.n it!

"You bas-"

"Be nice. Your weapons along with a few other things are waiting for you inside. Get ready. You have less than five minutes before the fight begins, then you have our deal to fulfill." He reminds me as I shook with pure anger and clenched my fists so tightly that I felt a droplet of blood run down my fingers.

a.s.shole.

Holding it in, I ushered the three mages into the tiny room of equipment and shut the door quickly. His laugh making everything within me to grow cold while I pushed away from the door and gazed at the mages once again.

"You will stay here during the fight. I will slaughter them." I told the three, s.n.a.t.c.hing my blade and s.h.i.+eld from the table. I gripped another long knife and slipped it through the belt I had around my waist.

"I will n-"

"I did not ask you did I, witch?" I spat the name with such disgust that it made the twins flinch behind her. The girl glared at me and s.n.a.t.c.hed the mace on the table.

"You don't have to. You realize that all the a.s.sa.s.sins being forced are here because of their special abilities correct?" She questions me when the twins nodded eagerly and looked up to their leader with pride. "We are in this together now and-"

"b.i.t.c.h b.i.t.c.h b.i.t.c.h." I motioned my hand in the talking gesture and rolled my eyes. "We are not in this together." I snap at her causing the twins to hide behind her once again.

The alarm above rang as I clenched my fist once again and walked over to where the opening was. I heard cries of joy and entertainment when my face appeared on the screen along with the three other mages.

"Stay here if you want to survive," I warn before walking away and not giving them a chance to protest. Cheers erupted around me and the uncomfortable gazes watched me with hunger and l.u.s.t, something I'd always hate but at this point, it was the only thing keeping me alive.

The announcer yelled something over his microphone when the doors on the opposite side opened and revealed the four pair of people who looked so confident that it hurt my ego. Not gonna lie, they looked like a fantastic team with two vampires, a wolf, and a male succubus.

Interesting indeed.

They stared at me with a carefree look, surprised to see the other meek mages remaining in the room I ordered them to stay in. I twisted my sword in my grasp, already feeling energy waver but not revealing that weakness.

"Your partners abandoning you already? What a sad way to die." The wolf tsked and glanced over at the two vampires groping at one another.

There's their first weakness.

Love.

"I ordered them to watch me slaughter you all." I simply tell him when the male succubus came up to me in swift strides, his long narrow horns giving off a comforting presence.

"My love, I see your exhaustion. Let us take that pain away." He whispers, brushed his fingertips along my scarred collarbone with a heat in his eyes that tried compelling me to bend to his will. Though he had no idea that I had a mate, how funny.

Before any of them realized what happened, I reached for his hand and pressed my lips against his knuckles. The crowd roaring in disappointment that nothing has happened quite yet, but they were going to be satisfied in a moment.

"I am..." I stopped for a moment, bringing a hand around his neck and flicking my tongue against his throat making him shudder. "Not your love." Before they knew what happened, I bite down into his throat with my growing canines and thrust the sword into his gut.

Blood filling my senses as I let the male succubus, with dark brown skin much like my own, drop to the ground. He gasped for breath while I wiped the blood from my mouth and grinned satanically.

"Bet you didn't expect for me to be immune, lover birds." I purr and lunged towards the guy vampire with my sword, cleanly cutting a deep wound across his chest. His lover screeched and grasped her falling vampire while the wolf came at me, s.h.i.+fted already.

The crowd was clouding all my judgment as I leaped from the ground and into the air, I felt that I was lighter before a spear ran through the air and pierced the wolf in the air. A few more spears came into sight and stabbed straight through the wolf before he could even touch the ground making me snap my attention to the twins throwing power infused spears.

"Good job Hayden and Harley! Keep that wolf down no matter what! I will help with the vampires! Oh and if that f.u.c.king succubus moves keep him down too!" The girl yells, still holding the large mace while the vampire woman screeched at her dangerous.

I hit the ground before throwing my s.h.i.+eld at her like I was Captain America and watched when the girl threw she mace as if it was a bat. The mace chain extended, smacking the vampire clear in the face making me nod.

I want one of those.

I didn't expect that the other vampire I harmed to already be healed when it bull dosed me and forced us both to the ground. The breath knocked out my lungs as he grabbed a hold of my throat and tightened his hold until I couldn't breathe.

His furious eyes stared down into me as the voices and screams slowly faded until I only heard the low buzz. I felt my hands scratching at his arm, but there was no use since he was so much stronger than I was.

"Hayden!" The girl mage screams while I clawed at his face but nothing happened, well other than angering him more. I felt his grip lessen before he slumped down on me, the breath returning into my lungs as the crowd's voices came back into my ears. "Good job! Make sure to kill these a.s.sholes with wood too! Harley, make sure Navalina is alright! She can't die now. unless it's in my hands." The girl orders loudly and repeatedly slammed the mace into the vampire's face.

Even though it didn't move, I knew that it was more for pent-up anger inside her.

I was much the same way when I first came into the cage.

One of the twins came over to me, his brown hair and hazel eyes sparkling as I patted his shoulder and stood up. The crowd going insane at the thought of us murdering four of their best a.s.sa.s.sins.

The thought only brought me sheer joy.

But also fear of my new life.

"Are you alright, master Navalina?" Harley questions me when I rubbed my sore neck and nodded to the quivering boy.

Ew.

Master Navalina?

That wasn't even my name, it's my a.s.sa.s.sin name apparently.

"I am alright." I simply tell the kid while a wooden spear zipped past us and into the vampire who was trying to stand up. A loud scream ripped through the woman as she collapsed the ground, a pool of blood surrounding her body.

"Hayden!" Harley shouted at his twin as if he did something bad making me glance at the child in curiosity. "You know the rules! No throwing spears close to me or our friend!" He barks at his brother but gladly ran over to him, nearly falling to the ground but collecting himself before he could embarra.s.sment.

So I am their friend now...?

A laugh left my lips when I saw the girl prying away from the brutally murdered vampire and tossed the mace away. Flecks of blood and dirt coating the poor girl making me suddenly feel for the three mages.

"a.s.shole." She sneers and spits at the body, the action causing the crowd to go completely insane.

I chuckled more to myself, knowing if she stayed here for a few more weeks that she'd have the cold manner I would. We were much alike but she had a weakness.

Her brothers.

Though if it was up to me, I'd rather have a family with me rather than go through this alone...

Oh, Barack and Lily...

I miss you both so dearly...

The loud overhead speaker brought me out of my darkening thoughts when I glanced around the crazy and surprised to see a few disappointed watchers. A grin rose on my face at the thought they'd actually think the other team would win.

Adorable.

"Give up for your winner Navalina and her proteges!" The crowd screamed more crazily when the girl scoffed and flung some blood off her fingers. I chuckled a little as the speaker rang through the crowd once again. "What about we make this interesting?" The announcer questions while my blood ran cold.

I've heard those words before.

I've got to get them out of here.

Now.
