3 Chapter 3:

"Of course. I don't go back on my promise even if I am an a.s.sa.s.sin. a.s.sa.s.sin codes tell us to keep our promises." He nods, reaching out and steading my hand so he could pour more alcohol. "But agreeing means that you have to remain here and continue fighting. You'll be pampered, pleased, wors.h.i.+ped. You'll be the strongest here like your Luna before. Is that something you want? You want revenge on the a.s.sa.s.sins wh-"

"Okay." I agree, gritting my teeth and drinking the whiskey from my gla.s.s. "But I want them to go home first. I won't do a thing until they are home." I compromise but the look on his face told me he was more than pleased at my words.

"I will order them here now and give your Luna the power to get her and the child home." He tells me before turning to the door and speaking in an unknown language. A few moments, the door opened and revealed the frightened little girl and angry Luna.

"YOU MOTHER f.u.c.kERS! LET ME GO!" Luna screeched, throwing the mage's hand off her arm and glaring at him with daggers. "You're pathetic for betraying us." She spat angrily but Wyn didn't move, only rolled his eyes.

"Wyn. Give her some of your power." The a.s.sa.s.sin in front of me says when Luna's gaze snapped to mine in an instant. The overwhelming emotion of disgust going through me the moment her eyes landed on mine.

"Nava. Come on. I'll teleport all three of us. We'll leave. Just come here." She says. Not even caring that the a.s.sa.s.sins could clearly hear her.

Everyone looked at me and I continued to stare at the ground in despair, hating that I was letting her down. But this was the only way to ensure her, her child's and the little girl's safety.

"I'm not going with you. I am remaining here." I said in a mere whisper while glancing up and seeing the confusion within her eyes.

"No. I told you I am not leaving you. I refuse to." Her words sent daggers through my stomach however I knew that this was the only way, why couldn't she see that?

Why is she being difficult?

We don't even know each other?

She can't like this without even knowing who I am.

This is the only way d.a.m.n it!

"You don't know me, my Luna. Whoever said I wanted to leave? Even if they hurt us, these people actually understand my need for revenge! I don't want to return back to that pack where there is no one waiting for me to come home! h.e.l.l, they probably don't even know I am missing! I am just a wolf for the Alpha's dispense! No one is worried about my wellbeing! That pack is probably more happy with me gone than with me actually there!" I snap at her, my heart beating fast from the shock and sorrow of realizing that the last part was probably true.

The pack truly hated my dark presence.

They are probably celebrating my capture.

At least here I am treasured for my strengths.

Her eyes watched me closely, the red in them swirling with pain and heartache for me. I knew that my words were true, but did she?

Would my outburst make her think differently?

"I am not leaving you here." She repeats dangerously while I grit my teeth and shook my head.

Before I could say a word, the a.s.sa.s.sin in front of me holding a hand up to me. I wasn't sure what he wanted, but I was more than happy to stop the disrespect I was giving my Luna.

It pains me to disrespect her in such a way.

"Wyn. Since she is adamant to bringing my Navalina. Please teleport her and the child to the coven. You are more than capable of doing so." He tells Wyn as he nodded and reached out to my Luna. The action causing me to snarl angrily.

"Don't f.u.c.king touch me!" She screams, moving away but wasn't quick enough when he teleported her out of the room. The child disappearing as well.

"YOU a.s.sHOLE!" I roar, lunging towards Wyn which surprised him. We both hit the ground while I tightened my hold around his neck, letting my nails lengthen so they cut his skin.

He was trying to throw spells out at me but was terrible since I caught both of his hands and forced them above his head. His dark brown eyes were staring at me in pure horror as my hold tightened even more.

The thirst to kill him for betraying his family and for disobeying my Luna so great that it wasn't hard to ignore everything around me.

Without much encouragement, I snapped the mage's neck and made sure he was dead by flicking my nails across his throat. The blood pouring on the ground when I shook terribly at the thought of letting my anger get the better of me.

It was bringing me back to my rogue days...

"He was my favorite mage you know." The a.s.sa.s.sin behind me tells me as I slowly got off the dead mage and stumbled back. "That is alright though. I will find another mage that is twice as good." The a.s.sa.s.sin stopped talking and looked over at my horrified face, just smiling at the reaction. "Welcome to the family, Navalina." He walked over to the door and left the room, the heavy bolt locking behind him as I continued staring at the dead body.

What have I become...?

"YOU SON OF A b.i.t.c.h! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" The vengeful yell radiated through walls of the coven stopping all of our talking. Zavier stumbled back for a moment before darting for where the scream was, several things being thrown around in the room next to us.

"I want Nava!" A little cried out loud, her horrified cries harming my entire existence but her words slicing through my heart.

Nava.

"Faye!" Zavier yells causing the rest of us to follow behind closely. I was closest to the door since I prayed that my own mate was here but the sound of the little girl crying out to for my mate made me think of the worst possibilities.

"GET AWAY FROM ME! I HAVE TO SAVE HER!" Faye screams, using what left power she had to throw something against the wall. Tears running down her cheeks as the little girl sobbed into her ripped up pants.

There was no Nava...

"Love. Please. You are home-"

"NAVA IS STILL IN THEIR HANDS! SHE MADE A DEAL WITH THEM FOR OUR SAFETY! IT'S ALL MY FAULT!" Faye sobbed while Zavier rushed to her side and grasped her in a tight hug, the misery on his face apparent making my own chest tighten even more.

My Nava...

She sacrificed herself for the safety of her friends...

What was she thinking?

Faye continued sobbing into her mate's hold, her whole body looks so much smaller than before and the sight harmed my own heart. The little girl was still crying out for Nava, screaming her name as a few of us trying getting closer to her but that only increased her cries.

I growled at them, not wanting any of them touching the little girl who was so fond of Nava before she noticed me. s...o...b..ry tears ran down her face when she darted for me and grasped my leg, her cries only increasing.

I knelt down to the ground and held onto the little girl, both of us just as upset about Nava still in the hands of the a.s.sa.s.sins but thankfully the a.s.sa.s.sin that contacted us was offering me to help her escape. Not like it mattered about her motive, only her actions mattered to me at the moment.

"We have to go back... She risked her life for ours." Faye mumbled into her mate's shoulder, broken about the whole experience like the small child clutching onto me. Everyone around us looked completely lost and unsure what to even do when I shook my head and picked the little girl up.

If Nava never came back, this girl was the only thing I had to remember her by.

"Are you alright to speak now...?" Zavier asks his mate as she sniffed and rubbed her eyes from the incoming tears. I could tell that she's been through h.e.l.l, I couldn't even imagine what my own soul mate has been through.

"Y-Yes." She nodded slowly, taking in a shaky breath before beginning. "I can't r-remember much from the beginning, but I know that the a.s.sa.s.sins were more interested in Nava. She must have made a few deals with them because neither th-the girl or I would l-leave the cell. Every few hours, N-Nava would leave and come back with bruises. She'd-" Tears collected inside of her eyes and I could tell it was so hard for her to even relive the memories.

I couldn't imagine what that pain felt...

What my mate went through to ensure their protection...

She was so courageous.

"It's okay. Take your time." Zavier smoothed over, rubbing his hand over her hand in a comforting way that made me long to be with my own soul mate.

"She'd never say a w-word about what it-t was they'd make her do. She'd always come back in the same way... Disgusted and angry... I thought I'd seen a wolf angry after Zavier's temper tantrums but the way she was... It-It was dangerous and I knew the a.s.sa.s.sins chose her because she was an easy target." She admits with a shaky breath when I hit my fist against the table, scaring the poor child in my hands.

"She is not an easy target! She is stronger than anyone here!" I said proudly though the look on Zavier's face horrified me. I refused to back down as they talked smack about my mate.

"I'm not saying she isn't strong. It's just..." Faye thought about her word choice carefully before looking back at me. "She was cornered and threatened. She has been through things and the a.s.sa.s.sin whose captured us can go through memories much like my mother. He can manipulate a mind into doing anything he wants. Most likely... he-he used me and the little girl as a way to threaten us. He knew that she was loyal to the pack." Faye explains softly hating that she knew the man too well but not saying a word about their relations.h.i.+p.

It was clear that this man was some kind of person in charge of the league.

He was going to die in my hands.

"How did you get home, love?" Zavier questions while sighs and ran a hand through her dirty red hair, a smile rising on her tense face.

"Zavier. I am pregnant." She confesses making all of us jump out of our seats, everyone except for me.

I could care less at this point since I was more interested in my soul mate's wellbeing.

"Before we celebrate, we have to get Nava back. She protected my baby and she knew about it which is probably why she sacrificed herself for us." Faye stopped their celebration and looked over at me. "Nava struck a deal with the leader of the a.s.sa.s.sins and Wyn sent me home. I don't know what they said to her, but whatever it was. It was not good. She knew this and pushed me away. I think..." Faye stopped talking for a moment, glancing at all of us before settling her gave on me. "I think she plans to murder him even if she dies," Faye admits making everything within me reach for the phone and dial the number of the a.s.sa.s.sin.

I am getting my girl back now.
