"YOU BETTER f.u.c.kING FIND HER N-"

"WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST, YOU f.u.c.kING BARBARIAN a.s.s!"

"DON'T f.u.c.kING CALL ME THAT!"

"STOP BEING A JACKa.s.s THEN!" Archmage Seria screamed at Zavier, both of them fighting once again when I noticed Ajax's tense muscles get up from the table we were at. He looked just as tired as the rest of them, but thankfully it was his turn to play peacemaker today.

The two of them always got into screaming matches, whether it was to make them feel better or to distract them from the fact that Faye and Nava were gone.

But I had a feeling that they could care less about what happened to Nava.

It was me who reminded them all that she was captured as well and the thought of them not even remembering that she was taken as well unsettled my nerves.

However, it was easier to keep my complaints within me or else both of them would turn on me since I was an easy target.

"Break it up! We can't afford for the both of you to fight again today!" Ajax broke up their screaming match as I saw his mate sighing and telling another wolf to report back to the pack. I sat there numb, unsure of what to even think while I started at the maps strewn against the table.

There were circles and lines strewn across the maps but none of them had any great leads. All of them either marked off or still circled. Though none of the locations told us anything about where the ladies were.

The a.s.sa.s.sin we had in the bas.e.m.e.nt long dead since Zavier murdered him in cold blood. Thankfully, he got all the information he could from him but even so.

He had no right to murder him.

Though at the same time, I couldn't blame him.

He was missing his own mate.

Just like me.

My own soulmate, Nava, has been missing for nearly a month.

A whole month.

Everything within me was screaming, wanting her near me even if she hated my presence. The thought of her being in the hands of a.s.sa.s.sins tore me apart.

I'd caught small things that they did to Faye and the thought of her even going through something remotely like that has me dying in my own misery. Every night I prayed to a G.o.d that I was starting to despise.

How could a G.o.d cause his creations such horror and pain?

I couldn't even process the thoughts and that is causing my parents to grow more worried by the second. It's not like they could every understanding.

Their first time was mutual and even magical at that.

My first meeting with my mate, her face was strewn in disgust and horror.

It is a sight that would never leave my mind.

"There's no point in fighting. The longer we remain here, the longer they stay in their hands. We must contact that woman who reached out to us not too long ago. She knows information even if she is an a.s.sa.s.sin." The older wolf, Daniel, speaks with an ounce of wisdom coming from his tough exterior. His presence always snapping me back into myself yet again, which I was thankful for.

It gave me some time to not think of the endless possibilities that Nava could be going through. I couldn't be any more grateful to the man for acting strong through this when everyone else was slowly dying away in hope.

Everyone except for me.

My mate was a strong one, her spirit wouldn't be broke in less than a month.

"I'll speak with this a.s.sa.s.sin." I offer quickly while Zavier snarls at me to sit back down and I was quick to follow his rules. He is quite scary and I was not intending to be on his bad side today.

He was extra cranky today.

"No one speaks with that pathetic a.s.sa.s.sin! Listen to my orders! I forbid it!" Zavier shouts angrily when his mother came up behind him and rested her hand on his forearm. The action making him flinch but he didn't swat it away as he did before.

"Come, Zavier. When we find Faye, you must be your best." She whispers in a motherly tone, but it was her words that caused all his anger to fly out the window. His shoulders dropped and revealed the exhaustion in his movements and eyes.

I felt for the man.

Truly I did.

Slowly, both of them left the room as Daniel glanced over at me with stern eyes. The stormy look in his eyes revealing that troubled thoughts that were running through his mind but he never said a word about them.

"You will meet with her?" He questions once again, this time his voice quieter than before as I nodded and stood up.

"Yes. My soul mate is with the Luna. I will do everything in my power to get them back, even if that is just meeting with this woman." I promise while he sighed and looked over at Ajax and Alex.

"Get her on the phone then. I want my family found and now." He orders the couple, making them scramble for the phone and papers. Daniel gave me one last look before joining them and leaving me be at the side of the table.

My nerves and thoughts ran in a frenzy at the thought of seeing Nava once again.

I want t-

No.

I will find her.

〰 Nava 〰

"What do you want?" I snarl, holding my body in front of my Luna as she shook terribly behind me making me bare my growing canines. The sight causing the man in front of me to laugh s.a.d.i.s.tically.

"I told you, you would get a prize for your actions earlier. Don't you want to know what it is?" The a.s.sa.s.sin questions me while I narrowed my eyes and tightened my hold on my shaking Luna.

"No. Go away," I warn, turning around and moving my Luna to where the little girl was. I did not want those people anywhere near her and I wanted her to feel safe under my protection.

"Not even if it gives you all more food...?" He suddenly asks when she sat down beside the girl who was still sleeping peacefully. Her reddish grey eyes looking into mine, her malnourishment hurting my eyes and I knew that we were all starving with the single meal they gave us every day.

But I wouldn't succ.u.mb to their level.

"No," I said sternly, keeping my eyes on my Luna.

"Want more then? I can give you all new clothes, a new and cleaner s.p.a.ce, maybe even a bathroom?" The a.s.sa.s.sin leaned against the cell bars as I stood up and turned around to narrow my eyes at him.

I knew my Luna was pregnant and she needed to keep her body healthy and she needed to care for. This offer he had for me sounded more than he was letting on.

It was too suspicious, but the offer made me think for my Luna's wellbeing.

"What do you want?" I question him and walked over to him, not even caring that I was still nude. It wasn't like I had the clothes to repeatedly tear through once I was in the arena.

"No... Nav"

"We should speak in private. Wouldn't want to bother your people would we?" The a.s.sa.s.sin asks, opening the cell down and motioning me to come out. It was so strange to only see it was him opening my door and no mages or other a.s.sa.s.sins.

It only roused more of my wolf at the sight.

I stepped out of the cell and watched it close behind me, my Luna looking at me with pleading eyes to not leave. Though we both knew that this wasn't up to me.

It was up to our survival and I'd do anything to help her.

"I will follow you then." I nod to the a.s.sa.s.sin, his smile widening in a sickening grin while he motions me to walk beside him. Reluctantly, I started walking and noticed that the cells around ours were bare making me smile more to myself.

The a.s.sa.s.sins did not like the fact that I friended all the inmates with our shared hatred for the a.s.sa.s.sins hence why we were the only ones down this corridor but the thought of our revolt always made me smile.

Even in desperate times such as this one.

"So as you know, Christmas is coming around yet again this year." He starts, not bothering to look over at the scowl on my face.

"How would I f.u.c.king know whether it was a useless holiday or not?" I question, hating that it was around the holidays since they were supposed to be for good times. However, they only brought me grief at the thought.

Barack...

Lily...

I felt some tears come into my eyes at their names coming across my mind, hating that I was growing emotional in front of the a.s.sa.s.sin that has captured me.

"You must be desperate to not remember at the look on your face." He comments when I grit my teeth and kept my head forward.

"What do you want?" I question again, not wanting to continue this conversation and hoping the a.s.sa.s.sin would drop it.

"Come. It's better to speak out of the eye of the a.s.sa.s.sins." He tells me as we pa.s.s by a corridor with three a.s.sa.s.sins lounging around. They noticed us and sent us curious and fearful look, a strange expression laying over their faces.

The a.s.sa.s.sin I was following opened a door for me and ushered me inside when I reluctantly entered. I wasn't sure what it was he wanted from me, but there was a sickening feeling inside my stomach that was telling me to run.

But I couldn't.

My Luna needed to be cared for.

I looked around the room and noticed it was pretty nice, well nicer than the cells I'd been sentenced too. The room had a bed off to the side and there was a dresser that was clearly open. Clothes and items inside of it making me think back to his offer.

I noticed there was also two doorways other than the one we entered from. There was a sliver of a shower and toilet making me think it was a restroom he'd promised, the other doorway a mystery to me.

"Like I was saying before, Christmas is coming up and the arena has been thinking of... fundraiser ideas if you will." He explains to me, brus.h.i.+ng past me and grabbing a bottle of whiskey from the counter. "Would you like a gla.s.s?" His voice was kind but I knew there was something underneath it all that I didn't trust.

"What do you want?" I repeat yet again, crossing my arms across my chest in annoyance.

A smirk rose on his face as he pours himself and me a gla.s.s of whiskey even though I refused the drink. I could tell by the expression on his face that he was amused at by my reaction.

"I want to simply give you, your prize for being a good girl." He says innocently, turning towards me and handing the gla.s.s to me. I gave him a puzzled expression but refused the drink yet again.

"What else do you want?" I ask again, growing irritated at his antics to beat the bush around.

"As I said, I will give you food, clothes, a new place to stay for simply being a team sport." He explains though I knew there was more.

"And?" I c.o.c.ked my eyebrow up, wondering what it was he wanted.

"And... I wanted to offer Xenon and the little girl a chance to leave." He says making me snap all my attention to him. "That is, of course, you agree to what I have to say." Once again, he held the gla.s.s of alcohol to me and this time I grasped it.

"I'll do anything to ensure that they will be sent home," I promise, looking down at the gla.s.s and surprised to smell no kind of drugs. Thank G.o.d because to be honest I really needed to have a drink.

"Good. Good." He watched me tip the gla.s.s over at drink it in one gulp, the grin on his face widening but I could care less.

I feel like I will need that drink with what he wants for their escape.

"I keep mentioning that it is Christmas time. There is a reason for this because I'd like to... pleasure your fans if you understand." His words made my eyes widen, though I shouldn't be so surprised since he was a man but still. His words made me utterly still.

I wasn't sure what to say.

I knew that doing this would ensure their safety and for them to return home. It would put my mind at ease and they wouldn't be able to threaten me with their lives anymore. Surely he'd know the risk of doing this and yet I couldn't place what his play was.

I needed to figure out what their goal was for us and this may be the only way to gain some of their trust and some of my freedom.

This may be the only way to save them and take down the league once and for all.
