Chapter 1143 - Fort Ardon
"Take care Micheal, The Battlefield in the Central Continent is a lot more different than what you have experienced so far." Mother said as she had come out to drop me off.
"I know mom," I said. This must be her tenth time saying this since morning. The teacher had also told me the same things many times. The Grimm Monsters, I've fought in my native continent were chickens compared to what I will fight here.
"I know you know but I still feel worried about you." Mom said as she hugged me one more time. I hugged my father and also kissed the crying face of my sister a couple of times before walking toward the airs.h.i.+p.
"Please take care of my sister," said Reva, who is beside her parents and sister, Charlotte is coming with me to Fort Ardon. I would have liked to go alone, but since my mother asked, I will take her; I just hope she is good as she seems.
"Let's go," I said to Charlotte, which is crying as she is hugging her Elder sister. Hearing my voice, she wiped her tears away and followed me to the airs.h.i.+p I had already taken out.
We boarded the airs.h.i.+p, I tapped a few times on control, and soon, the airs.h.i.+p started to fly up. We waved at our families one last time before the airs.h.i.+p got high enough and shot through the sky.
"The room on the left is yours. If you need anything, just ask me," I said to the girl. I rarely had any contact with her. Yesterday is the only time I had talked to her, and that was just a few words, and today, I had met her on the airstrip.
This girl is kind of reminiscent of Jill; when I first met Jill, she was also a shy girl but in a few days of intense combat had brought her out of her shyness.
"Thank You for taking me." The girl said shyly as she moved her green bangs away, "It's no effort." I said. I made some small talk with the girl to calm her nerves before closing my eyes and going to my Inheritance s.p.a.ce.
It will take nearly a week to reach the fort Ardon, enough time for me to do some studying. I probably will not get much free time once I reach the fort Ardon; h.e.l.l, I am not sure I will get any free time in such constant fighting.
Days pa.s.sed by, and with days, my conversation with the girl also grew; I was quite surprised to see that girl is very knowledgeable about healing arts.
Mother had said this girl had one of the best healing talents she had ever seen, and if not for her anxiety, which many times messed things up, she would have been very priced in Mistson.
Usually, organizations, especially Supremes, do not let their healer go to the battlefield unless they have become a duke. Still, this girl had messed up so many times that she had completely lost hope in her despite her talent.
If not for that, they would not have given her permission to go to the battlefield before it is time. Mother had told me, this girl herself has applied to go to the battlefield to family dismay. If not, I arrived on time; she would have headed to the battlefield on one of Mistson's airsh.i.p.s.
Soon it is the seventh day, now I am sitting in my cabin, discussing some healing Art with Charlotte. Mistson't healing Inheritance as expected is amazing; discussing with her has helped me a lot.
'ATTENTION, FORT ARDON IS UNDER LEVEL 4 ATTACK, CAUTION IS ADVISED'
Blared on the airs.h.i.+p, hearing that I had strained up a little and opened the command. Level 4 is not that dangerous; we could still land in the city. If it had been Level 5 or Above attacks, we had been barred from entering until the battle ends.
Those attacks are f.u.c.k.i.n.g dangerous; level 4 Battles are led by the King Stage powerhouse. Such battle forts easily handle them; it is just practice for both sides; it has become serious when the Emperor or Tyrant partic.i.p.ates..
A few minutes later, Fort Adorn came into view, and so is the battle that is happening in front. Millions of humans and Grimm Monsters are fighting the b.l.o.o.d.y battle.
I quickly expanded the resolution and saw the reality of battle, seeing that I couldn't help get scared and excited. The battle is really dangerous, and anything I've seen before.
Both sides are fighting bloodily, with Dukes and Princes below and Kings in the air. I could taste the killing Intent from battle even from a distance, and it would have been the greatest I've ever sensed if not for me seeing my mother's Kingdom of Blood.
"There are so many people fighting." Charlotte's voice rang out beside me, her voice was shaking, and when I looked at her, I found her face completely turned pale as she watched the visuals.
'Poor girl.' I couldn't help but feel little pity for her; seeing her expression. She is a healer, she won't have to go front line, still, she will face the horrors in the back like while fighting.
"This is reality, but you will get used to it," I said with a sigh. I still remember how I froze up for a second when I faced the Grimm Monster for the first time; I had nearly lost my life.
It would have been better if it had been one of the empty days in Fort Adorn. It would have given her some time to adjust, but we have arrived in the midst of an intense battle that forcefully made her face reality.
I sighed one more time before handed the control of the Airs.h.i.+p to the Air Controller of Fort Ardon, I usually would not have to do that, but in time of the battle, no risk being taken, those airsh.i.p.s that don't hand over their control, won't able to go in till the battle is over and that might take a lot of time.
