＊おふざけ番外編です。ヤンデレ系～のキャラが現代の高校生だったら、という話。キャラの生い立ちが本編と違ったり、IF要素も含んでいます。

*An extrarc gag chapter. It's a ‘If the characters in yandere otome~ were high school school students in the modern era' kind of story. The character developments are different from the original story and contains elements of what ifs.

「シェイドが不良になってしまったようなの……」と言って、クリナムは俯いた。

「It seems like Shade has turned into a deliquent……」 said Crinum, hanging her head down in shame.

クリナムもシェイドも私にとってはいとこにあたるが、二人は腹違いの姉弟である。この二人の家は、複雑な事情を抱えている。

Crinum and Shade were my cousins, but the two were brother and sister from different mothers. The two had a complicated family circ.u.mstance.

過去のいざこざについては割愛するが、今でも二人の姉弟仲はあまり気安いものではない。クリナムの実母である叔母様は、継子であるシェイドに対しては『関係を持たない』という態度を貫いていて、クリナムにもそれを強制するところがあった。

I left out the past problems but the two's sibling relations.h.i.+p wasn't so pleasant even now. My aunt, Crinum's mother, stuck to an att.i.tude of 『having no relation』 with her stepchild, Shade, and she compells Crinum to have that att.i.tude as well.

けれどクリナム自身はシェイドのことを気にかけていて、よく私に相談に來る。

But Crinum, herself, worries about Shade and often comes to consult with me.

「シェイドが不良に……？」

「Shade, a delinquent……？」

私はとっさに、ランクラーツの家に來たばかりのころのシェイドを思い浮かべた。當時３歳、それはもう天使のように愛らしく、ふくふくとした薔薇色のほっぺが愛らしい子供だったのだ。

I immediately recalled the time when Shade had only just come to the Rangrutz home. At that time, being three years old, he'd been an sweet angelic child with adorable puffy rose-colored cheeks.

それがいつのまにやら成長して、嘆かわしいことに非常に生意気になって。ついには高校二年生にしてタバコでも吸い始めたというのだろうか。

He grew up before we knew it, and the sad thing was, he became very cheeky. I wonder if he started smoking or something when he finally became a second year high school student.

「そうなの。最近は帰りも遅くて……服に香水の匂いがついていることも多いとメイドが。バイトをしているそうなのだけれど、それが、少し年をごまかして、お酒を取り扱っている店で働いているようなの……」

「That's right. Recently, he's even been coming home late…… and the smell of perfume is often on his clothes based on what the maids tell me. I hear he's been working part-time, but it looks like he faked his age a little and is working in a store that handle alcohol……」

「なるほど。ちょっとだけ夜の世界に足を突っ込んでいる、みたいな。學校に知られれば停學くらいにはなりそうな行動ね。それにしても……」

「I see. Sort of sounds like he's dipped a foot into the night life. If the school finds out, it would probably be enough to get suspended, wouldn't it? But still……」

私はバーテンの格好でシェイカーを振るシェイドを想像してみた。その周りに、年下の男にちょっかいをかけたがる、麗しい大人のお姉さまなど配置してみる。

I tried to imagine Shade shaking a c.o.c.ktail in a bartender getup. Then, I tried to arrange beautiful, mature onee-sans, who like to make pa.s.ses at younger men, and the like around him.

あまりにも絵になった。

It became quite the picture.

「――グレる方向性が微妙に格好つけで、イラッとするわね。リーゼントにするとか、長ランを着るとか、そういう思い切ったことはしないんだもの」

「――turning into a delinquent to pointlessly look cool, ticks you off, doesn't it? I mean, it's not like he'll do anything daring like get a pompadour or wear a long tunic」

「リコリス……。その発想は少し酷だと思うわ」

「Lycoris……。I think that way of thinking is a bit cruel」

とにかく、私がシェイドと話をしてみるということになった。

Anyway, it was decided that I'll try talking to Shade.

本當は、父がいたら良かったのだと思う。

In truth, I think it would've been better if Father was here.

父はシェイドを自分の息子のようにかわいがっていて、我が家にはシェイドのための部屋が存在するくらいなのだ。

Father loves Shade like he was his own son so much so that there was a room set up just for him in our house.

シェイドの方も父には隨分となついていて、中學時代あたりの特に難しい時期なども、父にだけはいろいろと相談をしていたようである。その父は現在海外出張中。

Likewise, Shade was also considerably close to Father, and seemed to have had various consultations alone with him about particularly difficult times in his junior days and such. Said Father was currently on a business trip abroad.

私は、週末に我が家へ訪れたシェイドと一緒の夕食後に、彼にお説教をすることにした。

So after I had dinner together with Shade, who visited our house for the weekend, I decided to lecture him.

「シェイド。部屋に戻るのは少し待ってくれる？　話があるの」

「Shade. Could you wait for a while before going back to your room? I have something to say」

私が改まった聲でそう告げると、シェイドは眉をひそめた。

Once I announced this with a formal sounding tone, Shade raised his eyebrow.

「何ですか？」

「What is it？」

「最近、かなり遅い時間に家に帰るそうね」

「It seems you've been coming home quite late recently」

「そうかもしれません。新しくできた友人と遊ぶのに忙しくて」

「Maybe. I've been busy playing with a new friend I've made」

あっけらかんととぼけてみせる。

He said, acting indifferently and playing dumb.

シェイドは我が家に來るにあたっては、香水の匂いなどさせる間違いは犯さないのだ。そんなことをすれば、私という口うるさいいとこからすぐにも詰め寄られてしまうためである。

When Shade came to the house, he didn't make the mistake of having the smell of perfume or anything on him. If he had, he would've gotten pressed for answers by his nagging cousin, me.

「お酒と香水の匂いをさせている友人なんでしょう？」

「The friend who makes you smell like alcohol and perfume？」

「……クリナムからご注進がありましたか」

「……did you hear from Crinum?」

「認めるのね」

「So I take that as a yes」

シェイドはフンと、とても可愛くない笑い方をした。

Shade hmphed and did an extremely uncute way of laughing.

「少し、社會勉強のつもりでバイトをしています。それだけですよ。安酒もタバコも、さほど興味はありません」

「I'm working part time for a while to learn about society. That's it. I have no particular interest in cheap alcohol or cigarettes」

「か、可愛くない言い方……」

「Y-your way of saying it is so uncute……」

「可愛くなくて結構。そもそも、十六にもなる男に可愛いは侮辱です」

「I'd appreciate if you don't describe me as that. In the first place, it's an insult to call a guy who turned sixteen, “cute”」

「しょうがないじゃない。私にとっては可愛い弟なんだから」

「It can't be helped. For me, you're my cute litle brother, after all」

「俺はあなたの弟じゃない」

「I'm not your little brother」

シェイドが冷たい聲を出すので、私は気圧されそうになった。

Since Shade spoke in an icy voice, I got nearly overwhelemed.

「だいたい、家族でもなんでもないのに保護者面はやめてください」

「To begin with, it's not like you're even family so please stop acting like you're my legal guardian」

「私はあなたの家族よ！」

「I am your family！」

「……違います」

「……you're wrong」

シェイドはふいとそっぽを向いた。

Shade abruptly turned away.

（そういうことを言うのね！）

（You're going to say that, huh? Well fine！）

「そこまで言うなら、覚悟なさいシェイド！　私は『家族でもなんでもない』相手に容赦はしないわよ！」

「If you're going to go that far, then be prepared, Shade! I won't be lenient on someone that's 『not even family』！」

「……容赦しないとどうなんです？　學校に言って、それでもやめないようなら退學にでもしますか？」

「……so what are you going to do when you say that? If it seems like I still won't stop, are you going to tell the school? Even if I drop out of school?」

「いいえ。そんなまだるっこしいことはしません！」

「Nope. I'm not going to do something as tedious as that!」

私は、パチン、と指を打ち鳴らした。

I gave a snap of my fingers.

我が家の有能な執事が音もなくスムーズに押している臺の上には、大畫面テレビ。

On top of the rack that our house's capable butler soundlessly and smoothly pushed in, was a large television.

「ここに用意したのはね、お父様秘蔵の『うちの天使成長記録。特別総集編リコリス＆シェイド版』！」

「What's prepared here, you see, is Father's treasured 『My angels' growth to adulthood records. Special compilation: Lycoris & Shade edition』！」

「……は？」

「……Ha?」

「うちのお父様、昔から海外出張が多かったでしょう？　それで、我が家のメイドやフットマンたちには、私たちの生活を撮影するという仕事があったそうなの。これはその映像が編集されたもの」

「My father goes abroad on business trips a lot when we were young, right? So, it seems our maids and footmen were given the task to record our lives. These were the ones compiled into a video」

「……まったく、あの人は……」

「……Geez, that man……」

私もこのことを知った折には、今のシェイドと同じようなつぶやきを漏らしたものである。

When I, myself, found out about this, I also let out a murmur similar to what Shade did just now.

「それで、自分で覚えているかどうかわからないけど。あなたが四歳くらいの時。それはもう天使のごとく愛らしかった時分。あなたはこんなことを言っていました」

「And so, I don't know if you remember this or not, but, when you were about four years old, it was the time when you'd been like the cutest angel. You said something like this」

私は大きく息を吸うと、はっきりとした発音でかつてのシェイドの言葉を再現した。

I let out a breathe, and then reproduced the words Shade said long ago with clear p.r.o.nounciation.

「『ぼくの、しょうらいのゆめは、リコリスおねえちゃんの、およめさん・・・・・になることです！』」

「『When I grow up,… my dream is to be,… Lycoris-oneechan's・・・・・… bride！』」

執事さんが『そのとおりでございます』とばかりに頷く。彼は非常に記憶力がよく、私たちの幼少期のことは知り盡くした上に覚え盡くしていると言っていい。

The butler said 『that's right』 and kept on nodding. He had a very good memory, so you could say he remembered more of our childhood than we even knew.

「ぅああああああ！！！！！」

「uwAAAAAAAA！！！！！」

私の聲をかき消すようにシェイドが叫ぶ。しかし、遅い。

Shade cried out as if to drown out my voice. However, he was too late.

「そして、こちらに証拠映像が……」

「And this is the video evidence……」

「……っ！！」

「……！！」

なりふり構わない様子でテレビに向けて突進しようとしたシェイドだが、執事さんはそれを優しく押しとどめた。

Though Shade rushed out towards the television not caring about appearances, the butler gently kept him back.

「シェイド様。こちらにあるのは、コピーデータでございます」

「Shade-sama. What's in here is a copy」

「そのとおりよ！　當たり前でしょう？　さあシェイド！　これでもまだ私の言うことを聞く気にはなれないの？　上映會をされたいの？」

「Exactly！　Isn't that obvious？　Now, Shade！　Can you still bring yourself not to listen to what I say now？　Wanna have it screened？」

ふんぞり返る私を前に、シェイドはがくりと片膝をつく。

As I confidently lay on my back with feet outstretched, Shade fell to one knee in defeat.

「こ、ここまで……ここまでするのか！」

「Y-you…… you'll go this far?！」

「するわよ！　容赦しないって言ったでしょ！」

「I will！　I did tell you I won't be lenient, didn't I?！」

私は噛み付くような勢いでまくしたてた。

Then, I vigorously kept on talking like I was snapping at him.

「リーゼントにするくらいなら許してあげたのに！　年を偽ってバイトなんて！！　貴方自身がしっかりしているつもりでもね、お酒やタバコの誘惑があるだけじゃないのよ！　何か問題に巻き込まれたらどうするつもりなの！？　私は心配なんか、してあげませんからね！！」

「I would've tolerated it if you simply went to the extent of wearing a pompadour! But to think, working part-time by faking your age！！　Even if you were planning to control yourself, it's not just the allure of alcohol and cigarrettes that's the problem！　What were you planning to do if you get involved in any problems！？ You better believe that I won't bother worrying for you by then！！」

最後は涙混じりの聲になって、格好はつかなかった。

By the end, I was already saying this in tears.

しかしシェイドはそんな私をじっと見つめた後、根負けした様子で肩を落とし。

But after Shade stared hard at the tearful me, he slumped his shoulders looking defeated.

そして、深い深いため息をついたのだ。

Then, he made a long, deep sigh.

そもそもの異変に気づいたクリナム。映像提供のお父様。そして私と、執事さん。その渾然一體の攻撃――つまり、家族愛の勝利だった。

Crinum, who noticed his strange behavior in the first place. Father, who offered the video recordings. And, me and the butler. This all-out attack – had been a victory of familial love.

このシェイドがグレた理由は何だろう。

I wonder why this Shade turned deliquent.

大好きないとこのお姉さんに、いつの間にやら婚約者とか出來ていて、それが優等生系だったので反発して…とかだとすごくかわいそうです。

He'd been an honor student when, before he knew it, his beloved older cousin got engaged, so he rebelled… if that were the case, then it'd be awfully sad.

このシェイドはリコリスの弟になっていないので、リコリスへの感情が異性愛寄り、という裡設定あり。

This Shade didn't become Lycoris's younger brother so this backstory is where he had feeling of heteros.e.xual love for Lycoris.
