Chapter 9 Part1

“You can't go in,” Qin Yue yelled. Ouyang Yu barged inside the house, followed by Ouyang Ning.

“Xiao Meng.” He saw Lin Meng collapsed on the ground with  Gu Yubai next to her.

“Xiao Meng, it's me, big brother.” Ouyang Yu rushed and kneeled in front of her.

Lin Meng recovered her consciousness. She lifted her head and saw Ouyang Yu. She smiled weakly at him and as if exhausting all her physical strength with the simple act, fainted in his arms.

He picked her up and carried her out of the room, disregarding Gu Yubai's presence.

“Gu Yubai, You are crazy.” Ouyang Ning pointed at Gu Yubai and accused in an aggressive tone. She turned around and walked out after that.

Last time he almost killed Xiao Meng, this time she fainted due to his actions. Did he hate her that much?

From the start to the end, Gu Yuibai watched them silently.

“Don't worry, she just fainted.” Ouyang Ning a.s.sessed her pulse and breathed out a sigh of relief.

Ouyang Ning stared at the unconscious Xiao Meng. Even if Xiao Meng had done wrong, she had already paid the price for it.

Gu Yubai, let her go, she can't stand this.

“Gu Shao.” Qin Yue came in and called Gu Yubai, who stood silently at the window.

“A Yue, investigate what happened to her in the last five years.”

“Yes.” Qin Yue nodded. By the time he walked to the door he heard Gu Yubai speak again,  “Forget it, don't check on her.”

“Yes.” Qin Yue accepted immediately.

He had a feeling that now Miss Lin was back; many things would change. He must have been wrong.

To be honest, he didn't think that Miss Lin was suitable for Gu Yubai. What he needed was a woman who loved him, not a woman whose heart held another man dear.

“Don't come over… don't come over…”

“As long as you tell me where Ouyang Jun is,  I will let you go.” The man sat in the chair watched the woman s.h.i.+vering in the corner.

“I don't know—don't know!”

“Since you won't cooperate, I can't help it.” The man shook his head at the stubbornness of the woman. He waved his hand and walked out of the door without looking back. He had given her a chance. Since it was not appreciated, he wouldn't bother anymore.

A few men who were standing outside rushed in at the gesture.

“Don't… don't touch me. I beg you—don't—I really don't know.”

“I have never touched such a tender woman…”

……

The woman's pleas disappeared into the abyss of heavy gasping and sinister laughter, leaving behind unsightly images, memories, and lingering despair.

Lin Meng startled awake from her state of unconsciousness. She sat up on her bed, looking at the dark night, sweat dripped down from her forehead to her neck. She gasped, frightened and wide-eyed as her mind remained trapped in the past.

How long had she not had this dream? This nightmare which couldn't be erased from her mind.

She looked at Huai'an who was still sleeping on her side. Her drowsiness vanished. She scooted out of bed and pressed her bare foot onto the cold floor. The chill of the cold night was biting. Yet it wasn't as cold as her heart at that moment.
