Chapter 200 - The Father...

"Well, all I can say is that I will never do that. That child will be my only family. Why would I ever give up on my only family." Jacob choked a little, as if speakimg his heart out. "I do not have a sibling too. So maybe that kid will be the only ray of hope for me to live. Offcourse, I have a friend, who is also important to me and there are other friends too, but they have their own lives. I can not expect them to be with me, all the time." Jacob smiled looking at the lady doctor.

"Hmm! Are you clinically depressed? You sound like you are in depression!" The lady asked, looking at the sad boy.

Jacob chuckled looking at the doctor. "Well, are not we all unhappy with our lives, in some or the other way. I just have few more extra reasons to be unhappy, which I would say is not called being clinically depressed. I have taken over my father's vast empire, I am in the process of growing as a responsible man. I have a healthy routine and I do not have any addictions. Well, I think that makes me a valid enough candidate to be a father!"

"I see, but you are a man. You have responsibilities. Work stress, hectic schedule, social life, so don't you think the child will be neglected?" The doctor frowned still not convinced by Jacob's words.

"Well, I had a single parent too. My mother died, soon after I was born. I have only seen her in photographs. My father raised me single handedly, and I had a very happy childhood. I am not saying that mother's are not important, but all I am saying is that single parents too can fulfill both the responsibilities. It just requires true love and dedication. Besides, is not it, the whole purpose of surrogacy. When either of the spouse is not there, or parents can not concieve, that you opt for scientific methods!" Jacob smiled looking at the lady. He himself was surprised at his own words. He did not know, he would talk such amazingly to the doctor, about his internal feelings.

The doctor finally smiled at Jacob. "So who would take care of the child in your absence. While you are at work or something?"

Jacob thought for a few seconds, imagining himself in that position. As a kid he remembered going to his father's office. He had a play area and people looking after him all the time. "Well, to be honest, I can create a home- like environment for my kid at my work place. That is what my father did too. We have our house maids, who are more like family to me. They will be happy to have a baby in the house too. I will take care of the baby, just the way I was taken care of!" Jacob smiled thinking about his father and the way he would always take out time for him.
