The receptionist quickly pa.s.sed on the news and rushed back to hide behind the door and observe the shark's reaction.Though he was called the shark,his demeanor was very charming.Neil Long was the typical stereotype of every woman-good looking with a hint of humor in his twinkling eyes...any girl he accepted would be hated instantly for not matching upto him..But he was also known as a slippery fish and no woman had been able to catch him until now..Could this woman's trick work?After all it was said that the way to a man's heart was through his stomach....

Neil,who had just finished signing for delivery,had already guessed the contents of the box..The peanut b.u.t.ter tarts were just as yummy as he had expected..Only after eating two did he deign to look at the note..The note was partially open so he pulled it out and read,

The woman who had read the note only partially felt her jaw drop when she saw Neil Long give a soft smile,and then move towards a.s.sistant's Lu table."Oh my G.o.d..yes something is going on between these two...!!"He stopped in front of the corner table and pulling a chair sat down.Turning towards Wan Xiao,he started conversing.."Ms Wan,have you congratulated our dear a.s.sistant Lu on her engagement?"

Wan Xiao had worked with Neil for more than 5 years and could read his moods well enough and knew that he was upto something..She decided to play along.."No,not yet..I was just about to.."

"Don't do it now!!She has an announcement to make."Saying this both sets of eyes turned towards her expectantly..

Al had zoned out the moment Neil started talking to Wan Xiao.Since he had come over it meant that he wasn't sulking anymore..her eyes were at the door waiting for Ryu Long...(of course it was only because she wanted to eat her desserts and not because she wanted to meet him..

The sudden silence pulled her out of her reverie and she was met with their waiting gazes..Not knowing what they were talking about she just said,"mmmm"

Neil smiled victoriously and getting up from his seat he said,"let me do the honours..I guess you are feeling shy."

Al:"..." Just what was this guy talking about..shy??who was shy??It seems she had really lost a few brain cells..She knew she should have been more alert when Neil joinedtheir table.

Standing up,Neil clinked a gla.s.s of water and called for attention,"Everyone,all of you may have noticed that our a.s.sistant Lu got engaged over the weekend.To celebrate this wonderful occasion,she has decided to treat everyone at work to a traditional meal at the restaurant next door..Please do congratulate her in the evening..I hope to see you all there..."He finished this announcement to a round of applause..

Al:"...." Neil,you vengeful bas**** I am going to kill yoy..She was going to go bankrupt tonight..She just knew it!!!

Alicia glared at him and vowed revenge..

Just then the sound of applause was abruptly cut off when everyone realized that the CEO had also come..

Ryu,entered the dining room at the end of the round of applause..His sharp eyes quickly scanned the scene and saw Neil and Al sitting in a corner with some other woman.Neil was smiling smugly while Alicia was glaring at him..She had yet to notice his arrival which gave him time to admire her beauty..

Just then she noticed him standing at the entrance and he almost smirked when the glare melted off her face and she got out of her chair halfway as if she was about to come running into his arms.Giving a small smile he went towards the buffet table and started piling the food onto his plate.At the last counter, which he never approached,he picked up two sweet cream rolls and added them to his plate.He then moved towards where his brother was sitting.

Behind him a.s.sistant Yang was getting even more worried.Didn't this man hate sweets???Just what was wrong with his boss??I must keep an extra careful eye on the boss..

He went to another table where his a.s.sistant was sitting.Yes,a.s.sistant Yang also had an a.s.sistant..n.o.body could expect him to do 3 person's work all alone..His a.s.sistant had been bursting with news and immediately updated him on all the goasip in the company..As soon as he heard about a.s.sistant Lu's upcoming departure,he was confused..He had interacted with her in the past and she came off as a sensible woman..why would she suddenly resign?a.s.sistant Yang did not realize that he had uttered the question until he received a reply,"it's because she got engaged over the weekend.."

Hearing this,a.s.sistant Yang turned around so fast,he almost gave himself whiplash..He was staring at Alicia Lu..not at her ring but at the thin braid-like chain around her neck...very similar to the one he had seen a glimpse of in the boss' gift...

As he stared,he also noticed a.s.sistant Lu reaching into the dragon's plate to pick up a cream roll and elegantly stuff it into her mouth...

a.s.sistant Yang finally heaved a sigh of relief ..His boss was not losing his sanity...The Boss was losing his heart....
