37 On The Road Again

Where as before he would have had to trek the jungle he now walked on a dirt path leading to who knows where. Perhaps this was a sign for Draig to give up on the petty want of exploring the world, thinking about this it seemed so. In the mere months that he had been with the Elves, Humans and the other races had been advancing and exploring the new world utilizing their access to Cla.s.ses given to them by the system.

Draig sneered as he thought of that old city he had lived in, the people there and how they had treated him. The more he thought about it the more he felt that old anger returning to him but with greater intensity.

'Filthy mongrels dared to hunt me' thought Draig as his fingers seemed to twitch rapidly as his thoughts raced faster.

'Just because I was better than them' sneered Draig as he fingered a solid black metal ring.

He seemed to do it subconsciously as he walked and his thoughts became more wrathful.

Suddenly his thoughts were stopped when he saw something that caused his heart to soar but also tighten.

There in front of him was a group of people it was clear they had not been in the area too long as their settlement hadn't even been completed yet. It was only by chance that Draig happened to pa.s.s by when they were being attacked otherwise he would have never known about them and these wonderful gifts that had been presented to him.

The humans and Guilders were taking heavy losses and it was apparent that if things continued this way then they would all perish and these three large Trolls would have a fine meal of these people. However the young Feratu didn't do anything as he simply stayed at the side and eyed a stocky youth with an honest face swinging a hammer around that caused a small explosion every time it struck. This was one of the so called prizes he had mentioned, it was a cla.s.s he had not seen before and it piqued his appet.i.te.

'Magic Smith' thought Draig as he examined the abilities of this person, it was amazing but also dangerous as this human possessed a cla.s.s that was eerily similar to his except the difference was that he could a.s.sign the magical ability a weapon would have where as the Magic Smith would create a weapon with a random magic effect.

The Trolls continued fighting valiantly wounding the youth while crippling many others however their numbers had dwindled to two, the charred remains of brain matter lingered around the area causing a putrid stench.

Draig chuckled and decided to tilt the odds in his compatriots favor, with a flick of his wrist his mosquitoes came to life and sapped the the blood of those Guilders while delivering a toxin into their blood stream. Draig then focused his gaze on the other prize, a troll with a cla.s.s.

The cla.s.s in question could barely be considered as such but it still gave a few interesting benefits, as it was similar to the Forest Guardian cla.s.s in giving bodily changes to the user. The giant stone looking monster was in fact a (Rock) Troll, granting a negligible amount of geomancy to the user as well as superior strength and defense.

That was it's cla.s.s (Rock), not really something that could be considered a traditional cla.s.s but it truly made things a bit more interesting with such developments. The Feratu waited until the Troll had finished it's task in squas.h.i.+ng those Guilder's before chuckling, it was time to start his game again.

Das.h.i.+ng onto the scene Draig strained himself a bit to catch the blow of the beast, the civilians and wounded stared in astonishment as a stranger appeared out of nowhere to defend them. However this was a part of Draig's game, it would save a great amount of effort if he could handle this Troll and become a powerful figure in the eyes of the people here. The Feratu was beginning to foster thoughts of starting his own forces again but decided perhaps he could transform his game a bit to truly cause a bit of mayhem.

However unknown to him at this time there was a tremble resounding in several forgotten places as temples began to cast gleaming lights and rise to the surface once more attracting the eyes of all the races who received word. To the knowledgeable this would seem as far too coincidental as there was a specific event in a few months time that would be crucial to the human race to reestablish themselves.

Though with the allure of these temples before them now, several factions and newly formed nations and states began to arrange caravans to go out and find the source of these temple's lights.

Far away Zarra felt minor irritation in his body as the temples rose from the ground and began to s.h.i.+ne their lights.

'This level of Holy presence, it couldn't be.' thought the Dark mage as he cringed again as he traveled with those who had chosen to follow him.

'The old scriptures of the Founder's describes a similar event and structure to these places but they shouldn't exist anymore. It was written on the day the Cla.s.s System arrived it had marked the death of the old G.o.ds, if they are dead then what is this feeling' mused the Dark mage as he looked into the distance.

'If these Holy beings are truly returning then that means the other's will return as well though it should probably be in secret' continued the Dark mage before his thoughts drifted to a certain Vampire.

'I hope you are ready for what this world is about to bring' concluded the Dark mage dropping his head.

He wasn't the only one thinking about the Feratu though as somewhere far in the back a certain blank faced girl could be seen as she stared at her sword which had at some point transformed again. Her standing in the group had obviously dropped for some reason and dirty whispers could be heard in her wake. It wasn't clear when it had started but it had been at some point around when the Monsters with Cla.s.ses had started to become more frequent.

With their natural superiority combined with Cla.s.ses, some of which they couldn't even label, the monsters had become something of a plague to these former Guilders and newly awakened. However it wasn't this that had gained Sylvie the ire of her people, it wasn't clear when it had started but after one of the battles with a group of Monsters following a Cla.s.sed Monster. A few of the people began to give her strange looks after watching her transform, and as time pa.s.sed with more battles happening more and more people becoming injured an outlet was needed and with the help of those who had been sharing their own theories about the girl. The community had somehow come to a silent agreement.

Guilders began to seemingly forget to watch her back or that she was in the way of their attacks causing her appearance to steadily become more ragged as the journey continued. This night the blank faced girl stared at the person in front of her, it was none other than her beloved sister.

The woman had a bag packed and looked at Sylvie with a regrettable smile.

"Sylvie we need to leave" started the woman

"Sylvie doesn't care what the people say" answered Sylvie.

"It's more complicated than that, just be a good girl and listen to me and pack your things" stated the woman.

Sylvie seemed to hear the distress in her voice as she didn't say anything more and merely stood up staring at her sister.

"Sylvie is ready sister" spoke Sylvie.

Remembering that the Demon Slayer had a habit of keeping her things on her anyways the woman shook her head and guided them through the night not really concerned with where their trip would take them.
