Chapter 20

Lei Zi grinned his teeth, "Wooden Head, I know what you are thinking. You definitely can do it! Believe me, have I ever tricked you? Five thousand Odi will be our initial capital. I intend to invest all of it.  Wooden head, what are you still hesitating for, just do it!"

Lei Zi's eyes were filled with excitement.

They looked at each other. Then, after hesitating for a while, Chen Mu agreed, "Alright. Let me try it."

"Bravo!" Lei Zi jumped up like a kid.  Looking at Lei Zi, who was cheerfully jumping around, Chen Mu beamed a faint smile.

Then the two of them started to discuss.

Five thousand Odi for a set of Movie Cards wasn't much. Chen Mu had also put some of his savings money in there. Its total came up to be around ten thousand Odi.

But that much money was still too little for a set of Movie Cards. The two of them then decided to make a short Movie Card instead.

Lei Zi was in charge of the script. For Chen Mu, Lei Zi only had one request. That was for him to clearly understand what a Movie Card was.

Luckily, Lei Zi knew that tomorrow, that there would be a Movie Cards conference. The two of them then planned to partic.i.p.ate.

The next morning, Lei Zi, who had two dark circles under his eyes,  was walking to Chen mu's place.  Last night, he was so excited that he couldn't sleep. When he met Chen Mu, he was yawning nonstop; his face was haggard. He looked extremely exhausted.

Why is it so crowded? Chen Mu was confused. The number of tourists at the DongWei Inst.i.tution was multiple times greater than normal. People were everywhere.

"Isn't it because of the Stars Courtyard's visit? Or is it because these people have too much free time, coming here just for the bustle," Lei Zi said while yawning.

Chen Mu shook, "The Stars Courtyard came to the DongWei Inst.i.tution?"

"No way, how could you have not known about such big news?" Lei Zi looked at Chen Mu as if he was some kind of alien, "Ha, you really are a wooden head!"

The Stars Courtyard had came to the DongWei Inst.i.tution, Chen Mu was still trying to digest this news.  To Chen Mu and Lei Zi, the Stars Courtyard was like a holy place.  If one compared the DongWei Inst.i.tution with the Stars Courtyard, no one would pay attention to the sole existence of the DongWei Inst.i.tution.  The Great Six Inst.i.tutions, in an ordinary person's mind, were like legends.

Three years ago, a child from the Eastern Citadel was admitted to the Distinguished Literature's Estate. They were also one of the Great Six Inst.i.tutions. At that time, the entire Eastern Citadel was incited.  The mayor even regaled that child.

The Great Six Inst.i.tutions' admission systems were relatively strict. The candidates were mainly people who lived in the five large High-end districts and the capital.  To the residents from the twenty-two Common districts, the requirements for admission were much more challenging.  If a young man, who lived in the Common district area, could be chosen into one of the six inst.i.tutions, his talents must have been outstanding.

The Great Six Inst.i.tutions were always on the higher position. They even had a discriminatory policy towards the Common districts. Now, they took the initiative in having an exchange program with the DongWei Inst.i.tution. How could that not have confused him?

It seemed that the DongWei Inst.i.tution was stepping into a high development period. Thanks to this, DongWei could have gained many benefits. Its name was much more popular now. The advantages that they would have in other aspects would have been countless.

After the fright, Chen Mu gradually recovered his calm.  This information was indeed shocking, but after all, it didn't have any relations to him.  I am not a disciple of the DongWei Inst.i.tution anyway. Moreover, I wouldn't be able to gain any benefits. My life wouldn't also be affected.

Among the crowd, Chen Mu and Lei Zi was trying to find a path.  It was fine for Chen Mu. After a long period of training, his body had become more st.u.r.dy. He didn't need to waste much more energy.  Lei Zi looked as if he was struggling hard. He was breathing heavily; clothes were all wrinkled by the squeezing. There were numerous footprints left upon his feet.  Lei Zi didn't even bother to fix his clothes. He raised his neck and looked around.

"Right here, right here!" Not far from there, a man was frantically waving.

Lei Zi rejoiced. He hurriedly pulled Chen Mu and rushed toward that direction.

"Holy, your school is getting wealthy now, I almost couldn't get through the thick crowd." Lei Zi blamed.

In front of Chen Mu stood a disciple who was wearing his uniform. At a glance, he looked suspicious, not to mention his small figure. He really didn't look like a good person, "Haha, this is true. I heard that the school's income this year has skyrocketed. The inst.i.tution is even considering to exempt its students from paying tuition, you know." Ignorance could be felt from his words.

" Alright alright, stop boasting in front of me," Lei Zi seemed to know him well. He casually introduced Chen Mu, "This is my fellow, Chen Mu." He then instantly turned to Chen Mu, "He is my friend, named Lao Shu. Anyhow, people all called him Rat [1]. He is the boss here."

Curiously examining the people around him, this was the first time that Chen Mu had stepped into a cla.s.sroom in the DongWei Inst.i.tution.  The majority of  the people here were disciples of the inst.i.tution. However, Chen Mu also found some people who were taking advantages of this opportunity like him.  The disciples were freely discussing what Movie Card was worth watching. The atmosphere around the room was sleazy.

A female disciple stepped to the podium. The noisy crowd below immediately ceased.

"Everyone, please keep silent. Today we will present to everyone the Movie Card which has received the most compliments – The Voice of Summer. As soon as it got publicized, this Movie Card has received tremendous amounts of love. With an excellent plot and appropriately portrayed character, it can be considered as the most remarkable Movie Card made during this period."

Chen Mu suddenly noticed Lei Zi's face, which was full of pains. His hands were s.h.i.+vering on the arms of the chair.

Chen Mu was surprised, but he soon understood, muttered, "Is this the one that you wrote?

"Yeah." Lei Zi bit his lips; his face was quite scary.

Chen Mu sighed inside, didn't say a word and entirely concentrated on the screen. This was the first time he had seen a Movie Card. He couldn't help but feel a bit excited.

A gear could also have been used to show a Movie Card. But now, the market had already used a specialized device just for the Movie Cards.  Currently, it was still being used in the cla.s.sroom. It emitted sharper illusions, and also included a special Slot for specified Sound Card. The sound effects were outstanding.

Half an hour later, the movie was finished.

"This is Movie Card?" Chen Mu asked Lei Zi in disbelief.

Lei Zi had returned to normal. He knew what Chen Mu was thinking about, and faintly smiled, "That's right, do you have confidence in this?"

Couldn't believe this is what they called Movie Card! Chen Mu didn't know what he should say.  To him, no matter whether it was the objects or characters inside, none of them looked real to him. At the very least, they were slightly being exaggerated and had gotten through some simple processes.  Talking about the difficulty, this Movie Card was far from the Fiery Dragon Illusory Card that Chen Mu had made. Not even mentioning the advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory Card in the Double Hoops store.

At this kind of level, he didn't know what was being considered good or bad in the Movie Card's world. But he could feel that the highlights of this Movie Card was the plot.  He couldn't help but compliment Lei Zi's talent in this aspect.  Even the cold-hearted and simple Chen Mu had found this to be enticing.

Chen Mu thought that if it had been made to look more realistic, the effects would have definitely been better.

But thinking about it, if this was so, the costs would have probably been an unimaginable number! Only till now did he understand why the Movie Cards only used the simplified or exaggerated Illusory Cards.

He also knew that these were not the only reasons.  Wanting to make a realistic Movie Card, it didn't only require high costs, but also a high level of difficulty same along with it.  Card Creators who were able to reach that level had been incredibly few.

Right after that, they continued to show several more of the cla.s.sic Movie Cards.

[1]Rat (??) is also p.r.o.nounced as Lao Shu (??).
