Chapter 14

With the instruction in the curriculum inside the Card, Chen Mu's Card Creating skill had been significantly enhanced. The knowledge about Cards inside this curriculum had widened Chen Mu's eyes.  Except when he was practicing and creating Energy Card, he used most of his time to emerge himself in the mysterious Card's illusory scene.

He then used the left over time to observe his surroundings.  The curriculum would always be theories. If he wanted to improve, he needed more experience from reality observation.  Observation, that was the first step.  Calling something that looked illusory yet realistic, if he didn't know what was that object looked like, how could he make it looked realistic? To do that, he needed more time to observe carefully.

This was what a low-level Illusory Card Creator need to acc.u.mulate.

But this had also left him with some serious post-diseases. For example, when he was eating bread, he couldn't help but dumbfoundedly stare at the bread loaf on his hand for six, seven minutes. When he regained his sense, his stomach was already desperately growling.

Once he started to observe any objects carefully, it was easy for him to be in a daze for a while. Or you could say he was enticed to it.  Like right now, his reaction was extremely slow. It seemed like there was a gap between him and his surroundings.

Once time, he came over to Lei Zi's house. The two of them sat down to talk while drinking Clear Sky Flowing Water. When they were still drinking, Chen Mu suddenly stopped.  Lei Zi had called him several times, but he showed no reaction. He was just staring at the cup in his hand, staying still at one spot.  Lei Zi's face was all pale. He was scared something might happen to Chen Mu.

Cards Creator was an incredibly expensive profession. This was the characteristic of the job. Because every time they wanted to learn about another Card type, they needed to practice a lot. Chen Mu didn't have much money. He also couldn't spend money like those wealthy kids.  He couldn't do anything other than observing more than normal. Only with a careful preparation could he be able to lower the cost when creating Cards.  Except for the first time when he touched the blue Card inside the illusory scene, Chen Mu had never looked at the curriculum of making "Token Cards." Fairly speaking, this amount of knowledge was enough for him to submerge in his thoughts for a while.

It would be hard to digest if you ate too much. Chen Mu always knew how to oppose himself.

He valued every chance of making realistic Illusory Cards. For every plan, he always tried to fix it over ten times.  He didn't overlook any detail. Only when everything was perfect would he start taking action. Such deliberate att.i.tude, if someone saw him right now, it would be impossible for them to think that he was just making level one and two Illusory Cards.

Anyhow, facts had shown that Chen Mu's method was incredibly effective.  Now, the illusion that his Illusory Card created was incredibly realistic. But he wasn't satisfied. Whenever he thought about the terrifying illusory scene inside the mysterious Card, his little pride immediately vanished.

The illusion of a level one or two Illusory Card, of course, couldn't be compared with a high-level Illusory Card. He was well aware of this.  The differences between them weren't because of colors, shapes,… But it was between reality and illusion, which wasn't in his capacity.

However, if he couldn't do anything about this aspect, then he would focus on enhancing the degree of realistic.

He intended to make an advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory Card for Uncle Hua.

Chen Mu felt his heart become heavier when thinking about him,.  Uncle Hua was getting weaker. He had been coughing all the time, and his expression was darkened day by day.  During this period, Chen Mu frequently came over Uncle Hua' store; he even helped him look over the store, talking to him all day.  But Chen Mu wasn't a smooth talker. Most of the time, he was just listening. The one who did all the talking was uncle Hua.

Chen Mu wanted to give him an advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory Card, a perfect one. But he hadn't do it yet because he felt that his capacity still wasn't enough. This was also one of the reasons why he had improved quickly over these past few days.

But as his skill was getting better, deep inside his heart there was another worry. That was uncle Hua's health.  That was why he had this decision.  Another reason was that, a while ago, he had a breakthrough in making Illusory Card that included animated illusion.  This problem had been on his mind for quite a long time.

As compared to a Still Illusory Card, the Animated Illusory Card just had one extra design.  But any Card Creator knew that making an Animated Illusory Card was much harder than a Still Illusory Card.  This could be seen in the price. An Animated Illusory Card's price would be triple a Still Illusory Card.

How to make those illusions to move smoothly was the hardest problem to amateur Card Creators. Like an Illusory Card that emitted images of a waterfall, many first-timers would make it look like uncooked vermicellis. However, wanting to create a realistic one required many more details: like the waves of the flowing water, the splashes that were splashed to the sky, the mist that filled up the air… Only an experienced Card Creator would be able to perform these well. Anyhow, many advanced Card Creators were still inferior compared to those Beginner Card Creators who specialized in making Animated Illusory Cards.

In the world of Cards, there was a famous saying – “Details determine the results”

The outcome would be based on effort. Faking it was impossible.

However, Chen Mu was patient. This was developed due to the things he had encountered when he was young. Being a homeless kid, if he didn't have enough patience, he wouldn't be able to find any food.  The "superior" in the vagrant world, who could survive after such a long time like himself, his patience was to the degree that could enrage people.

Observation, even when he had observed for an extended period, he didn't felt bored.

His improvement was rapid, to the point that he was surprised. This was the first time he doubted that he actually had talents in making Cards.

Flying bird and running rabbit, floating clouds and flowing water, daybreak and sunset,… The Animated Illusory Cards which he had created was incredibly realistic. But the best Animated Illusory he had made wasn't those listed above, but the scene when stray dogs and cats were wandering at night… When he was young, this scene had been deeply engraved in his head. He could describe it without even needed to think about it. This was also one of his precious innate talents.

Today, he was preparing to create an advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory Card for uncle Hua.  This was the first time he ever made an advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory; he was inexperienced. That was why he intended to take a stroll outside on the street to see what people's advertis.e.m.e.nt Illusory Cards looked like.
