"Please wait for me there, mom. I will be there in no time."

After the call ended, she kept her phone. "I will accept your offer in one condition."

Shen Juan blinked a few times. He could see how pale her face was and that made him wonder what could have changed her mind?

"State your condition."

"I need 400,000 RMB for my son's surgery..." She trailed off. She lowered her head and clenched her fists tight. The bright smile of her son flashed before her and it made her eyes misty. "I... I will... I will marry you if you help me."

He stared at her for a moment before he sighed. He took the napkin and wiped his lips before he took his card and called for another waitress to pay for his food. After he made his payment, he stood up.

It was a good thing that his manhood wasn't totally aroused earlier that's why after having his mind distracted, it was able to go back to sleep.

"Let's go."

Qiao Man wiped the tears that formed at the side of her eyes before she stood up, "I-I will just go and change my clothes."

"Okay. I will wait for you in the car."

Inside the car...

Qiao Man was dressed in a simple blue s.h.i.+rt and jeans pants. She was sitting uncomfortably beside Shen Juan, her mind was running to her son's condition.

No one spoke in the car, until they reached the hospital. The first thing Shen Juan did there was to pay for every fee for Qiao Man's son before he followed her to the room where her son was.

Upon entering a room, they saw a middle-aged woman who looked almost at her fifties, sitting beside the bed where a five-year-old boy was lying down, looking pale and sickly.

Qiao Man rushed to her son's side and saw him sleeping. She held his small hand, her tears were on the verge of falling when she saw her son's condition. She turned to her mother and smiled a bit, "Mom, everything is alright now. Yue'er will have the surgery."

Qiao Man's mother, Wei Rin was surprised at what she said, "You were able to pay the fee?"

"Yes. I was able to get help from Mr. Shen," said Qiao Man with a small smile on her lips.

Wei Lin turned to the man that came with her daughter earlier. Judging by the way he dressed, she could already tell that he wasn't a simple man.

"Mom, meet my boy-"

"My name is Shen Juan, I am Manman's friend." He interrupted.

Qiao Man looked at Shen Juan with a confused face. She had already agreed with to marry him so it was only right to introduce him as her boyfriend, right? In that way, her mother wouldn't be surprised if she suddenly said that they were going to get married.

"Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Shen." Wei Rin was on the verge of crying. Qiao Ziyue was her grandson and the little boy was close to her heart. "We promise to repay you one day."

"No, there's no need to repay me." He smiled at her, "Manman is a good friend of mine, she has helped me a lot of time so this time, I want to help her."

Qiao Man watched as Shen Juan smoothly lied to her mother, "Mr. Shen, can I have a word with you outside?"

Shen Juan turned to her and nodded before he looked back at her mother, "Please excuse us, Mrs. Qiao."

He then followed Qiao Man outside of the room.

The moment they were out, Qiao Man turned to him with a serious look on her face, "Mr. Shen, you have now met my mother and since I have agreed to marry you, I think it is for the best if I introduce you to her as my boyfriend."

Shen Juan patted her head, "I'm not rus.h.i.+ng you to marry me so you don't have to give me an answer right now."

"But... the money-"

"It's just money, I have more than enough in me. Giving you a couple of hundred thousand won't do me harm."

Qiao Man was surprised by what she heard from him. She never expected him to say something like that.

"I may want you to marry me but that doesn't mean that I am in a hurry to do that. I know marriage is a sacred thing, especially when it comes to women so I'm giving you more time to decide."

"And if I said no?"

"You're still going to marry me."

What kind of reason was that? Why should he give her more time if, in the end, he wouldn't accept it if she declined?

"I'm giving you more time to know me. It is the same for me, I want to know the woman I will be marrying."

"So... are you suggesting that... we should date first?"

"We will start as friends. I want to take it slowly but the end result is that you will marry me no matter what in the end."
