Months pa.s.sed and Li Bingbing's due date came. Since she was afraid of giving birth in a normal way because of the great amount of pain she might be experiencing, Li Bingbing decided to give birth via cesarean.

Li Bingbing was brought in a private room after giving birth and while she was unconscious, Xia Sinian went to see their daughter at the NICU.

When he saw their daughter, Xia Sinian eyes were filled with tears of relief and joy.

"Xia Mengjie..." whispered Xia Sinian in a soft manner as he continued staring at the baby that was inside a gla.s.s crib.

Her eyes spoke of a beautiful soul and her movements told of a need for nurture. His heart melted when she saw the little baby. At that moment, he swore to himself that he would protect her no matter what.

He covered his face with his hands as he tried his best not to cry. He has a daughter... a beautiful daughter...

This day has really came. He has a lovely wife and now, he was able to have such a beautiful daughter. What more could he ask? Well... there was one thing he badly prayed for every day, he wanted to live longer for them. He wanted to watch his children grow and he wanted to grow old with the woman he has always loved. Was it too much to ask?

It was getting harder for him to accept that one day, he would have to leave his family. When he imagined how heartbroken they would become, his heart shattered into pieces.

"Excuse me, sir? Are you alright?"

When Li Bingbing woke up, she saw Xia Sinian, sitting on a chair beside her bed. Xia Sinian turned to look at her with a gentle smile on his lips. "How are you feeling?"

"Good, I guess?" said Li Bingbing with a small smile. "Our daughter, how is she?"

"Healthy and adorable. We can go see her later. For now, you should eat some food." Xia Sinian adjusted her bed so that she could sit comfortably before he went and took the congee from the table.

"How does she look?" Li Bingbing asked curiously.

"Beautiful like you." Xia Sinian placed her food on the bed table before he sat beside her.

Li Bingbing pouted upon hearing what he said, "Like me? Then she would be so pretty! Hmp! I want her to look like you, not me!"

Xia Sinian ended up raising a brow at what she said, "Are you saying that I'm not a beautiful person?"

"What? No! I'm not saying that! You're super handsome!" Li Bingbing let out a sigh, "If she looked like you, then she would defy the heavens! Is she chubby? Is she soft and huggable? I really wanted her to look like your old self!"

"..." What the h.e.l.l is wrong with Li Bingbing's brain?

Xia Sinian sighed inwardly, "She has my eyes." He patted her head before he took the bowl of congee and started feeding her.

A smile appeared on Li Bingbing lips when she heard of that, she obediently ate the food that Xia Sinian was feeding. "She must be an angel then."

"Yes, she's our little angel."

After a month, Lu Yifeng and his family went to visit Li Bingbing.

When they reached the place, a haggard-looking Li Bingbing was the one who welcomed them. Her hair was in a mess and there were dark bags under her eyes as if she didn't sleep for days.

When she saw Xia Meilin, her eyes sparkled as if she found her savior. "Meimei!"

She was about to jump and hug her but she quickly stopped when she realized that she was holding something... rather... someone.

Li Bingbing's eyes were instantly filled with horror when she saw Little Star in her arms. "The f*ck! You have a little devil too!"

Xia Meilin narrowed her eyes when she heard her words. "Watch your words, sister."

Li Bingbing felt chills run down her spine when she saw how Xia Meilin glared at her. She covered her mouth with her hands and nodded before she moved aside as if telling them to go in.

"Please be quiet... I don't want that little beast to wake up." Li Bingbing whispered softly as if she really was afraid to wake up someone.
