Chapter 5

"A fat student borrowed a shovel and went to the workshop at around 10 am?" When Elder Liu arrived at locksmith's workshop at around one in the afternoon, he realized that he lacked a set of tools.

Even so, Elder Liu was a bit surprised. *What does a student do with a spade? Could it be that there was a problem with the guideway of the lathe and someone wanted to fix it, so the fat student came over to pick up some tools?*

The more he thought about it, the more he felt that something was off. Thus, Elder Liu decided to take a look. The road wasn't too far anyway, so he didn't need to worry about it. *Don't let that student do anything with it.*

"Fatty, where did you go with the shovel?" Elder Liu asked after Guo Tailai put away the tools.

"There was a problem with the guide rail of the lathe. I took it for a shovel." Guo Tailai answered casually.

"Bring me there to take a look." After all, Elder Liu had been through many things. Even though he had panicked a little at the beginning, he quickly regained his composure.

*If the shovel breaks, let's see if it can be repaired! It was best not to waste it.* While he was mulling over this in his mind, Elder Liu escorted the confused Guo Tailai towards the workshop.

He followed Guo Tailai into the workshop and saw that Guo Tailai was not paying attention to the lathe in the workshop and was heading straight for the small room. Only then did Elder Liu heave a sigh of relief. It wasn't just the lathe outside, there were only two antique machines inside, not for production. The most valuable ones were probably the two beds, so the losses weren't big.

"Locksmith's workshop has a set of top-grade tools, but unfortunately, I don't know whose ones it is, I won't be able to use it if it's locked." Guo Tailai didn't notice the change of mood at all. He opened the door and casually said, "What a pity!"

"That set of tools belongs to my old man. How could you be worthy of that set of tools?" Elder Liu was furious when he heard this. *Why is it a pity that I'm not giving it to you, Fatty, to use?*

Guo Tailai shrank his neck, not daring to say another word. It was embarra.s.sing to say that someone had caught up with him. He lowered his head and walked all the way to the Rhine Metal old lathe he was using.

Elder Liu's eyes widened as he looked down. How was this possible?

The easiest way to modify the guide was to replace it with something new, but that was obviously impossible. Old lathe in 1933 did not have any spare parts, and there were no brand-new guides to replace them. After all, the German sewer was only a joke, not a fact.

No new, serious wear and tear can only be the whole after sc.r.a.ping the chisel out, commonly known as shoveling out.

Rail roughening is a grinder, finis.h.i.+ng is actually made by manual processing. The skilled worker took a fine spatula and used a level to find out what was wrong with it. He then used a small shovel to shovel it. One of the guides was to be shoveled for a few days.

Those who could tack the tracks were at least level 5, which was at Guo Jianjun's level. They were at the entry level.

Guo Tailai was originally a student. All of his free time was devoted to the job, so it was impossible for him to reach level 8. Even if Guo Tailai was hardworking, it would be good enough for him to have a level two or three, much less a level eight.

As the saying goes, three years for a finisher and ten years for a lousy locksmith, this was not just talk. A locksmith was the one who ate the most kungfu. It had only been three hours since Guo Tailai had borrowed the tools. What could he do?

However, the scene in front of Elder Liu completely overturned his common sense. How was it possible that there was a brand-new guide track on the lathe?

No, not new. Elder Liu was simply too experienced. He was surprised to find out that this was not a brand-new guideway, but a guideway that had been finely processed and polished.

The guide rail was perfectly straight and smooth without the slightest deviation. At the very least, Elder Liu hadn't figured out any deviation. According to Elder Liu's experience, the level error of the entire guide rail was below a little bit. He couldn't even feel a slight concave feeling. It was completely different from the patterned shape of the guide rail that was manually removed.

"Expert!" This was Elder Liu's first reaction. Elder Liu's body couldn't help but tremble when he thought about how such a young, fat student could actually reach such a level.

Elder Liu's reaction made Guo Tailai frightened. What would happen if this old man got into trouble here?

"Have you had lunch, fatty?" Elder Liu suddenly asked a strange question.

This time, Elder Liu had a plan. From here to the Nine Dining Hall, plus the food queue, it would take at least forty-five minutes. That is to say, in just an hour and a half, this una.s.suming fatty in front of him had completed the entire work of sc.r.a.ping and leveling the rail. Furthermore, he had even done some polis.h.i.+ng. Was this fellow a monster?
