Chapter 4

During the summer vacation, Guo Tailai immersed himself in the process of practicing his skills and losing weight along the way. After all, he was still a student, so it was unlikely that his parents would let him go on his own.

As for his parents accompanying him, there was no need to even think about it. The couple was facing being laid off, how could they be in the mood to accompany their son 'unproductive'?

After more than 20 days of summer vacation, Guo Tailai had grown up to be a good locksmith. Although his experience and qualifications couldn't be compared with those senior locksmiths, his technique and precision were far superior.

With the powerful computing power of the control system, Guo Tailai could easily file out a perfect ball by hand. This was something a normal locksmith would never be able to do. Accurate calculation alone was impossible, and even if there was a calculation tool, accurate positioning and measurement were also a problem.

Some people might be able to do it, but their speed was nowhere near Guo Tailai's. In fact, Guo Tailai had actually filed one and polished it. When it was placed in front of Guo Jianjun, Guo Jianjun thought it was Guo Tailai showing off the finished product inside the factory.

When school was about to start, Guo Jianjun and Ding Yumei took out their only savings of three thousand yuan, and told Guo Tailai to take it along for living expenses. They were never stingy when it came to the cost of their son's schooling.

Guo Tailai was a student of the Shuimu University. Yes, it was that highest school in China. On the campus, there were stone inscriptions of "Qingfen is pretty, Huaxia is brilliant", which were known as "Shui Qingmu Hua", or "Shuimu Qinghua", that Shuimu University. Guo Tailai is now a member of Cla.s.s 21 of the 92 Cla.s.s Instrument Department of Shuimu University.

Guo Tailai had spent a lot of money on the food, but even so, he still had to spend 300 something extra every month. This 3000 was his living expenses for a year.

"Yo, fatty, you got skinnier?" When he returned to the school, his roommates were all surprised to see him.

After more than 20 days of vacation, Guo Tailai was sweating profusely in the workshop. Although the nan.o.bot didn't consume much fat, his physical training had consumed a lot of energy. He had lost more than 20 pounds.

The beginning of school was fifth year, so there weren't many cla.s.ses left. Basically, all that was left was a graduation reply and an interns.h.i.+p. Don't misunderstand, Waterwood University is a five-year old university, just like Yan Jing University.

Guo Tailai had already thought about Bi s.h.i.+'s work during the summer vacation. In that future dream, there was one product that was not very complicated, and Guo Tailai could do it himself, and could even write a thesis as a graduate design.

Most importantly, Guo Tailai could apply for a patent, and if he succeeded, it might even bring him quite a bit of income in the future.

While the other students were worrying about which group to join, Guo Tailai quickly picked a topic the next day and submitted it to the tutor. He also obtained the teacher's permission to go to the school factory to finish his design work.

On the morning of the third day, after Guo Tailai finished his breakfast, he went straight to the school's factory and asked the person in charge to explain the purpose of his visit.

"You want to use a lathe and the tools of the locksmith's workshop to create your masterpiece?" Director Wu, who was responsible for receiving students, was not surprised by Guo Tailai's request. It was normal for them to have to do a lot of things during the yearly period.

The few workshops of the school factory were basically all places where students could practice in the metal industry. Every time the students finished their interns.h.i.+ps, they would have to go through a new round of maintenance and readjustment. This request of Director Wu was extremely normal.

"Is the accuracy required high?" Hearing Guo Tailai's words, Director Wu felt it was unreasonable to delay him for a week with such a small task, so he asked after thinking for a while.

"Not high." Hearing that there was a door in Director Wu's words, Guo Tailai immediately took up the role of a snakeman. "As long as you drive a car straight, it'll be fine."

"Over there, there's a old lathe. It's been a long time, so its accuracy isn't good enough." Director Wu pointed to a corner room in the workshop. "If your accuracy isn't high enough, it should be fine."

After taking the key and applying for the materials, Guo Tailai went over to the room excitedly to check on the state of the old lathe.

There were only two lathe sets in the small room. They were very old and could be called old antiques. This room was probably specially used to preserve these two old lathes.

Director Wu was talking about the one in the back. Guo Tailai went over to the lathe and observed its condition. It could be seen that these two machines were in good repair. There was no sign of rust at all.

Because of the age of the nameplate on the bed, most of the words had been erased. Only the first line remained, but it was also covered by the oil. Guo Tailai walked over and wiped it with his hand. The handwriting became clear.

"Rhine Metal, 1933."

Looking at the nameplate, Guo Tailai could not help but open his mouth wide. The German old lathe of 1933 was indeed old. He didn't expect that the school factory would have this kind of superior antique.

"There's something wrong with this guide!" After a few glances, Guo Tailai found the source of the problem.
