167 Incident At The Magic Academy 9

Approaching the surging mana signature from both sides Lux, Mare and Lilly would draw out the elvers before Terra and Victor would hit them from the other side to disrupt the ritual currently ongoing.

"They should be in position now, Lilly let's do the thing we practiced during the expedition."

"What thing?"

"The surprise. you know, the one for clearing rooms farst."

Being reminded of a specific maneuver they had trained to clear out the town of monster hunters if it came to it, Lilly bloomed a cruel smile.

"Really? You're surprisingly cruel Lux~"

"What are you talking about? It was you that came up with that one."

---

"The spell formation is almost complete, time to you from depart from this world."

Looking at Dax which was restrained in the middle of a ma.s.sive spell formation that was spread out over the entirety of the large lecture halls floor Melisha's face twisted into a s.a.d.i.s.tic smile.

"Congratulations. All that just to kill little me, you're going to be surprised when I tell you that there's about a million drones outside this dome of yours waiting to tear you apart after I'm dead."

Finding Dax's monologue funny for some reason Melisha started floating in the air, as she started laughing uncontrollably.

"What? I feel like I'm the punchline of this joke."

"Hahahahaha! That's because you are~ You really think I would need this spell to just kill you? I could have killed you at any time in the last 12 hours, but that would set lose what's inside you without the proper nurture, guidance and control."

"Inside me? You mean my sense of humor? Sorry to say that died a long time ago."

Looking at Dax for a moment after his poor attempt at a joke the dark winged angel lost her smile.

"I thought you were a tactical mastermind.. Nevermind that, what's important is that you will suffer."

"Sure honey, pain is an old friend."

Having snuk closer to the mana signature Lilly felt how it started to increase, a signal that whatever was going on had started. Giving a nod to Lux the grand elder showed her impressive mana control by forming a spell structure in the air in front of her without leaking any excess mana into the atmosphere, completely hiding it from being detected. Seeing the spell was ready Lux pulled out a grenade from her belt and pulled the pin as she walked up right behind Lilly and placed her free hand on her shoulder. Having her shoulder tapped Lilly knew Lux was ready and started closing in on the lecture hall from inside the cla.s.sroom right next to i, stopping at the wall separating them as Mare covered their back.

"In position."

Speaking so quietly it was barely audible for Lilly, Mare picked up the sound perfectly as she moved to secure their exit. Seeing Mare react and Lilly closing in on the wall Lux primed the grenade she held in her hand, tapping Lilly's shoulder once more. With the only sound in the cla.s.sroom being the quiet mechanical time of the grenade slowly ticking down Lilly took a deep breath, then she placed a hand on the stone wall in front of her, activating her spell. Seeing golden runes spread out over the wall Lux took a step back, then she released the grenade, sliding it calmly between Lilly's feet and towards the wall. When the grenade reached the wall the runes near it lit up as the wall morphed without making a sound, opening up to the room and allowing the grenade to slide in unnoticed before it detonated. U

"Execute."

Using the muted sound of the grenade exploding as a que, Lux called for Lilly that fully activated the spell formation she had spread out over the wall as one more hole formed, right where Lux pointed her weapon. Without a shred of mercy Lux opened fire, aiming through the tiny hole she confirmed each target with her enhanced eyesight before making sure she killed each one of the hostiles she laid eyes on.

"Egress now!"

Covering her voice with the last machine gun fire Lux called for the 3 of them to run, they had done their job. Hearing the command both Lilly and Mare sprang into action. While Lilly closed up the wall and reinforced it with earth magic Mare grabbed Lux shoulder and started guiding her towards their exit while she was still ready to fire, covering Lilly until she was done securing their rear.

"Done!"

"Take point!"

Taking only a few seconds to reinforce the wall so it would be more problematic for the elvers to follow them through it, Lilly formed multiple blades of high pressure air that floated around her as she took point per Lux's command. As Lux and Mare made their exit the wall Lux fired trough was blasted away, the hastily constructed reinforcements did nothing to slow down Melisha, all it did was p.i.s.s her off.

"Don't let them interrupt the ritual! Kill them all for good this time!"

"I think we really p.i.s.sed them off this time."

"Sounds like it... Lilly bulwark now!"

"I see it!"

Hearing the sound of a really p.i.s.sed angel echo down the hall Lux knew their plan had worked, at the same time she felt an attack coming, and not a second to late. Channeling mana through her body Lilly smashed her foot into the floor, spreading out runes that made the ground shoot up as cover right before they were filled with holes from a spray of rifle fire.

"We need to drag them out further, Mare suppressive fire! Lilly cover! I have the lead."

Completely calm and composed under fire Lux called out acuate commands before she took lead in securing their continued escape, making sure they weren't flanked as Mare and Lilly kept up the rear guard.
