"... Sorry."

While Lux was getting torn a new one by the eerily calm and smiling Dax the royal knights and crown princess could only watch on and hope they didn't suffer his rage like Lux currently was, even Marie that had thought about getting in a few licks while her opponent was getting disciplined was frozen solid in place. The reason she found herself unable to move or even speak was the same as the others currently looking at Dax, it was fear, purely and simply. Even though he spoke calmly and showed no signs of aggression or anger there was something off about his voice, and when people noticed it they usually found themselves unable to stop shaking.

"I asked you a question lieutenant general."

"I am."

Lux on the other hand looked completely unaffected by Dax's current aura, she simply answered what he wanted to hear while wearing a blank expression.

"Then f.u.c.king act like it."

"Sir, yes sir."

"Good then… Miss Teresa has some questions for you, answer them."

Breathing a deep sigh after having lectured Lux Dax took a look around to see the effect he was having on the surrounding people.

(f.u.c.k… Well they were going to find out sooner or later I guess.)

Deciding not to cry over spilled milk Dax breathed another deep sigh, leaving the practise field behind without uttering another word.

"Well then, let's get on with it. What did you want to talk about miss crown princess?"

"..."

"Please snap out of it, he's already gone."

Having dealt with the aftereffects of Dax's presence countless times before, Lux had no particular reaction to the state of the crown princess.

".. Yes, I'm sorry… What was that?"

Finally snapping out of her fear induced trance state Teresa took a few seconds to compartmentalize what had just happened, what she had just experienced reminded her of when she originally met Dax and the overwhelming presence she had felt from him then.

"He stopped pretending."

"Pretending what?"

"That he's anything other than what he is. Dax is a qiton, that might not mean a lot around here but they are different from ordinary human, beast or demonkin that you're used to. Qiton's were made with a singular purpose in mind: War. As such their minds works in a different way than ours, they are always and constantly in a state of heightened aggression, which is something normal people generally picks up on and fears, like you did just now. Dax is normally good at hiding that, but sometimes he's too annoyed to bother."

"I see…"

Seeing the crown princess fall deep in thought Lux realized she would need a moment, but didn't really care.

"Can we get on with the questions? I have other stuff to do."

"Yeah, sorry.. I would like to know more about the viscounts son you recently handled."

"Ah that one.. In that case I would also know what you know about him, let's move somewhere else…. But before that."

Turning to Marie that was still on the ground having her relatively light injuries treated by Sophie, Lux bowed deeply towards her when she got her attention.

"I'm sorry for provoking you Marie, I lost my temper and acted in a immature manner."

".. Sure. I also said too much, sorry about that."

Having made up with Marie, if only a bit, Lux and Teresa made their way to an unused cla.s.sroom where they could talk privately.

"I've met with some inconsistencies investigating Andrew so I would like to ask you some questions about him before I answer your questions Teresa, if that is okay?"

"That's fine, ask away."

Having gotten the go ahead Lux took out her black armored face mask, which she laid down on the table between the two.

"ICI open file on threat #0412 in AR please."

At Lux's command a picture of Andrew was displayed in mid air above the mask, along with a almost endless stream of information about him.

"I can see you've done your homework."

"Of course, he's a credible threat.. Then could you please tell me about his a.s.sociates, to help fill out the blanks."

"Hmm… He's quite asocial to my knowledge, the only ones he usually a.s.sociate with is the people from his house and that barron, Hans was his name I think?"

Pulling on her vast knowledge of the hundreds of n.o.bles and their a.s.sociates Teresa wore a difficult expression when she recalled the times she met Andrew, indicating she really didn't like her.

"Ah that one, yeah I know him already… Turns out he's also currently missing and can't be tracked, which is why he's also currently a credible threat with a apprehend on sight designation."

"Wait he's missing?"

"Along with Andrew yeah.. 4 hours after I dropped him off in the wilderness after he tried to attack the academy expedition my drones completely lost track of him, something that shouldn't be possible."

As proof for what she was stating the picture of Andrew changed to an aerial view of a forest just after sunset, in the center of the screen was a white dot which Theresa understood represented the heat signature of its target for surveillance. After a few seconds of not moving it appears Andrew woke up, making the drone switch to visual imaging that showed Andrew standing up on his feet before looking around, then suddenly he focused on the drone directly.

".. That's not creepy at all.."

"Yeah? Then look at what he does next."

As the footage continued playing Andrew continued to stare unmoving at the drone for several minutes, completely without blinking, then suddenly without warning he disappeared from view.

"What just happened?"

"I don't know. That was the last any drone in the system saw of him, and that was 7 days ago. I believe you're familiar with the surveillance gird we've implemented here in the Kingdom, so I don't believe I need to tell you how impossible that feat is."

"Yeah…"

Deep in thought Teresa a.n.a.lysed the new information she had received while matching it to her vast knowledge, reaching a conclusion after a few minutes.

"I would recommend switching your designation from apprehend on sight to kill on sight, there's a large possibility that Andrew has been possessed by some powerful monster."

"We will do that then, make sure your forces do the same."
