121 White Lagoon 4

Tossing the copse she was dragging behind her on top of the pile she had made before locating the tracker she had covertly put on Lilly's back Lux launched into the air towards her location.

"I see you! Hang on!"

Locating Lilly once in the air Lux saw a strange looking man in a black robe throwing rocks at high speeds towards a barrier of stone Lilly had made to hide.

(That must be a mage… I need to get his attention.)

Deciding instantly that the most important thing was to draw 'fire' away from Lilly, the additional arms on Lux's Kali armor pointed themselves towards the mage and split open.

"I got you now b.i.t.c.h!"

Sending shard after shard of compressed rock after the elver that had been hiding from him for the last minute or so Tomas felt his consciousness slowly slip away due to the effects of the experimental strengthening runes he had engraved into his own flesh, but he didn't care, for he was already too far gone. But suddenly something forced him to stop, even with his dulled senses he could smell it."

"Fire? FIRE!"

His cloak had suddenly caught fire, how he had no idea, but instinct took over before he made up his mind Tomas hurriedly ripped it off his body. Right after that something else distracted him from killing the annoying elver, as some kind of creature landed behind him and kicked up quite a bit of dust. In an almost completely instinctual move Tomas turned around and released a shotgun like blast into the dust cloud, and hearing some of them hit he kept it up until the dust cleared.

["What the h.e.l.l have you been juicing? Bioenhancers? Or just plain old glue?"]

Looking at the 'mage' in front of her Lux felt her expectations and stereotypes greatly clash with the information she received through the Kali's sensors. He having revealed his upper body by ripping off his cloak Lux clearly saw the strange occult like red glowing rune pattern that spread all over his torso and neck, while his eyes had a wild and unfocused look and was foaming at the mouth. In response to the new opponent appearing out of nowhere 'Tomas' launched multiple more compressed rock shards as he screamed in rage and ran towards the new opponent, foaming even more at the mouth.

["Definitely bioenhancers, no, cheap cursed bioenhancers."]

Swarting away the rock shards that was hurled towards her like they were simply annoying insects as she continued firing off bad jokes while working out how to deal with her opponent.

(Well the simplest way is always the best, I guess…)

Deciding on her course of action Lux took a relaxed pose while moving the extra arms behind her back as she continued swatting away rocks and waited for the 'mage'

to close range. The instant her opponent closed within her range Lux shot forth as the Kali's arms extended and shaped into spears that pierced through the former mage's head and heart at the same time.

["Well that's that. Lilly are you okay!?"]

Watching the copse fall to the ground as she retracted her arms and they transformed back into normal Lux started looking after the elver she was supposed to come for the rescue of.

"I'm okay, the medicine really helped me out, even though it is crazy cold. I even think I got frostbite..."

Sticking her head out of her self made rock bunker Lilly wore a relieved smile as she complained about the cold.

"I told you so before, it's not medicine, but first aid.. I've already secured my sectors so I'll help with yours."

"Please do… Look out!!"

As Lilly's smile suddenly froze over with a mix of fear and disgust Lux focused her attention on the area behind her and felt a thin presence.

"WHAT THE f.u.c.k IS THAT!?"

The mage she was sure she had killed somehow stood up on his feet once more, even with a large hole in both his head and chest.

["That's not normal around here right!? RIGHT?!"]

"It's not!"

Confirming Lux's a.s.sumption Lilly was just as confused, disgusted and surprised as she was and hurriedly created wind blades that she sent towards the walking corpse. The blades. .h.i.t almost instantly and caved deeply into the flesh of the former mage, but that seemed to not really affect it as it started charging towards Lux and Lilly.

["I'll stop it!"]

Instantly desicing on the course of action Lux charged forward and hit the walking copse center ma.s.s with a open palm strike, sending it flying and landing about 10 meters away. a.s.suming the fight was not over with that Lux took a defensive stance and observed the copse as she spoke out to Lilly.

["What is going on?"]

"I have no idea…. But the mana around the copse looks, strange."

["Strange? How so? Please describe in more detail."]

Realizing that the current situation was truly out of her area of expertise Lux looked for all

possible information she could get about the current treat.

"It feels… Alive somehow, and not the warm, bright and fluffy kind of alive."

["Well I have that impression as well just looking at it normally, anything else?"]

Watching the copse stand up once more, now with a new fist sized compression at its center of ma.s.s, Lux definitely didn't feel like it was either bright or fluffy.

"I have no idea."

["Then let's go with my plan, follow me."]

charging the living dead once more Lux's artificial arms increased in length and formed into spears as she pierced the copse and nailed it to the ground.

"What now?"

["Kill it with fire!"]

"Got it!"

Going for the cliché solution Lux nailed the copse in place as Lilly prepared fire spell and before long set the copse alight, with Lux releasing her 'grasp' on it after it properly caught fire.

"Is it dead now?"

["Don't f.u.c.king jinx it…"]

Watching the copse burn for a while the sceptic duo were just about to leave when Lilly felt an extremely ominous presence. Suddenly like something sucked up all the oxygen in the area the fire burning the creature went out and a flood of flesh living, blood and pus before it all turned into a ball of flesh and gore.

["I told you to not f.u.c.king JINX IT!"]

Looking in horror as the ball of flesh slowly started taking some sort of shape it had some kind of intelligent force behind it Lux instinctually called for backup as she steeped a few steps backwards along with Lilly.

["Let's nuke it."]

"LUX!?"

Forcefully reliving her childhood trauma of accidentally having read one of Dax's books t.i.tled The Dunwich horror Lux tried escaping reality as tears formed in her eyes, with only Dax's lack of authentication stopping her ICI unit from authorizing a nuclear strike.

[What the f.u.c.k are you doing?]

Receiving a not so kind message Lux snapped back to reality as did her best not to freeze up in fear and found a solution to her current problem.

["Lilly launch it towards there!"]

"What? Why?"

["Just trust me!"]

"O-okay, here goes!"

Gathering an immense amount of mana Lilly injected into the ground below the ball of filth, sending it flying towards the sphere. As the creature entered the sphere's area of effect it flew towards it without effect until it was suddenly caught in its influence and came to an abrupt stop.

"What will this help?"

["Just wait for it."]

"Wait for what?... What's that sound?"

Picking up a strange sound coming from the sphere Lilly's long ears slightly twitched before she realized what was going on. Suddenly all the debri in the around the ball of moving flesh came to a complete hold, then everything was suddenly and violently ripped apart at a molecular level before it was all crushed into a single ball of filth about the size of a coin.

"... That was sort of spectacular, but what now?"

["Does it still have that strange mana around it."]

"Yeah."

["Then we just leave it. Until we can get an expert to look at it."]

"Eh?"
