Chapter 50 The Female Spirit - Feng Xinyu

Chapter 45        The Point of Most Yin

Ye Shaoyang’s actions confused Liu Ming, so he restated his position, “Mr. Ye, I hope you can understand that these are the requests of the Board. The Board is really scared that something similar will happen.”

“You’re mistaken. First of all, I want all the money paid after the job is finished. You just have to wire twenty thousand for me to buy the needed equipment. Second of all,” Ye Shaoyang rubbed his nose and continued, “There’s no need for this doc.u.ment since there won’t be any accidents.”

These words shocked Liu Ming, but he saw that Ye Shaoyang’s eyes were overflowing with confidence. Liu Ming smiled and cupped his hands as a sign of respect. Then, Liu Ming said, “Mr. Ye, a powerful Daoist you must be. This problem must be easy for you.”

In response, Ye Shaoyang shook his head, “You’re wrong. I’ve followed my master to solve a number of cases. And I kid you not, this haunted dormitory might be one of the most dangerous cases I’ve ever come across. The pay of two hundred thousand is not even enough for an average sorcerer because a single mistake will lead to their deaths.” Ye Shaoyang’s reply confused Liu Ming once again, and he asked, “So, why are you so confident and unwilling to sign the doc.u.ment?”

Ye Shaoyang smiled and explained, “This is not confidence. I’m saying that if I, an inner core disciple of Maoshan Sect, is unable to solve this problem, there might be no other sorcerer that can help you.”

After they finalized the deal, Princ.i.p.al Sun of the School of the Foreign Languages asked Ye Shaoyang for his bank account to transfer the 20 thousand Yuan. As Ye Shaoyang did not have a bank account yet, he asked Xiao Ma and burrowed his account. Xiao Ma was happy to comply. Why would he reject money, even if it did not belong to him?

“Mr. Ye, what will you do next?” asked Liu Ming.

“I want to go check out something in dormitory four. After that, I’ll contact you.”

These words stunned the other three present. Xie Yuqing, who still had vivid images of the incident, asked, “You … you still want to go in again?”

“There is a statue on the first floor that I need to check out.”

“But that female spirit …. ” Xie Yuqing said with a trembling voice.

“They won’t be a problem, as they have both suffered severe injuries,” Ye Shaoyang turned to Xiao Ma and said, “Come with me, I have a job for you.”

“Me … me?” Xiao Ma staggered, as he recalled the incident that Ye Shaoyang had experienced in the morning. Just as Xiao Ma was about to refuse, Ye Shaoyang rolled his eyes and said, “Five thousand.” Xiao Ma’s eyes lit up; he grinned and said, “Don’t you think it’s too little? You’re making two hundred thousand you know.”

“Does that two hundred thousand have anything to do with you? Five thousand, take it or leave it. Oh, I think Li Duo is pretty free these days,” Ye Shaoyang said, as he took out his phone and pretended to dial.

“I’ll take it. How can that skinny brat Li Duo help you? You need someone like me,” Xiao Ma said with a ma.s.sive grin, as he tried to win Ye Shaoyang over.

Liu Ming drove them all to dormitory four. When they arrived, Ye Shaoyang asked Liu Ming and Xie Yuqing to wait in the car. Meanwhile, he and Xiao Ma entered the building to investigate.

“Little Ye, why are you leaving the two of them alone? What if Liu Ming tries to get it on with her … ” Xiao Ma whispered. Ye Shaoyang looked at him in shock, “What the f*ck are you even talking about. Must a man and a woman do the deed when they are left alone?”

“No, but I’ve noticed that Liu Ming isn’t as he appears. Don’t get tricked by the suit and tie he is wearing. I’ve seen him continuously peek at Xie Yuqing’s chest.” Ye Shaoyang shook his head in despair and said, “You and your observations. But don’t worry. With Xie Yuqing’s personality, even if he tried anything, Xie Yuqing would probably break his three legs.”

With the key from Liu Ming, the two of them did not have to climb through the second floor window. Instead, they just opened the big metal gates and walked right in. Xiao Ma became timid as soon as they entered the building. Since he feared that the spirits would hear him, he asked Ye Shaoyang in a soft voice, “Little Ye, you have to guarantee my survival, okay? I am still too young and still a virgin.”

“You’ll probably become a pervy spirit if you die.”

Then, Xiao Ma thought, If I do die and become a pervy spirit, I’ll be able to go into women's bathhouse and play tricks on them. That’s actually not bad. But then, Xiao Ma remembered Ye Shaoyang’s words—if a spirit stays a day more in the mortal realm after the allocated time, it would lead to ten more years of suffering in h.e.l.l. Best not try it then.

Ye Shaoyang lit up a candle and walked through the floor. He checked for any spirits or specters that still lingered around. After he confirmed that there were not any, the two of them returned to the great hall and started to examine the statue that sat in the middle. Then, Ye Shaoyang asked, “Xiao Ma, do you think that there is something wrong with this statue?” Xiao Ma looked at it and pondered for quite some time. Finally, he said, “I’m not sure, I am only a normal person. It is slightly off-center though.”

“That’s right,” Ye Shaoyang walked toward the statue and continued, “Logically, if they wanted to place a statue in the hall, they would usually place it right in the center. Both in the sense of Fengshui and design, it is better to have the statue placed right in the center. But the position of this statue is slightly to the left.”

“So, you’re saying that someone moved it from its original position and placed it slightly off-center?” Xiao Ma intelligently concluded. Ye Shaoyang nodded. He had thought about this problem ever since he saw the statue. Now, with the confirmation from another person, Ye Shaoyang was certain that the statute was only moved for one reason—to cover up something.

Ye Shaoyang tried moving the statue, but it did not even budge. So, he handed the candle to Xiao Ma and looked at the bottom of the statue. Concrete! A layer of concrete filled the gap between the floor and the statue and kept the statue in place. His suspicion grew stronger, Why would someone use concrete to fix the statue in place if it was only for display?

Something must be under the statue!

Just to be sure, Ye Shaoyang took out his Yin Yang Compa.s.s and started to examine the room. To his surprise, the statue was directly situated at the building’s point of most Yin!

Daoists believed that everything had its own Yin and Yang flow. Even buildings would have points of true Yang and most Yin. Normally, if the Yin Qi and the Yang Qi in these buildings were balanced, these points would be insignificant. But when an area had an overwhelming Yin or Yang, the points of true Yang or most Yin would become the sources of their respective Qi.

“I am certain that the spirit nest is right under this statue,” Ye Shaoyang said, as he pointed at the bottom of the statue, “The seal is probably under there too, and it has sealed off the Yin Qi.”

“Can a statue seal off spirits too?” Xiao Ma asked out of curiosity, as he looked at the statue.

“It’s not the statue. The statue is only there to cover the seal up and prevent people from unknowingly breaking it.”

“Oh, so what do we do now? Move the statue?”

Ye Shaoyang nodded and said, “But the two of us won’t be enough, so let’s go and get some help.”

The two of them left the building and walked back to Liu Ming’s car. Because Xiao Ma and Ye Shaoyang came from behind the car, Liu Ming and Xie Yuqing did not notice them and continued to chat. Xiao Ma tugged Ye Shaoyang’s sleeve and whispered, “See, I told you right?” Because they wanted ventilation, all of the car windows were left open. Through the back window, Ye Shaoyang saw that Liu Ming would occasionally peek into Xie Yuqing’s now low hanging s.h.i.+rt. Meanwhile, she was completely unaware of the status of her s.h.i.+rt and still chatted happily with him. Ye Shaoyang shook his head. Then, he opened the back door and went in.

“You’re back; how was it?” Liu Ming turned and asked.

“We can start doing some prep work,” Ye Shaoyang put his hands behind his head and sat in a relaxed position, “Help me find two guys, erm, no need for that. Get me two jackhammers, one industrial grade cutter, and a bunch of masks … also,” Ye Shaoyang counted in his mind, “Eight mirrors that are three meters by three meters.”

When he finished his words, everyone felt shocked and puzzled by his request.

“What are you going to use them for?”

“You’ll know when the time comes,” Ye Shaoyang turned to Liu Ming and asked, “When can you have the things ready?”

Liu Ming thought for a while and said, “Give me an hour.”

“Great. Oh, also bring me some tofu.”

“Tofu?” Liu Ming asked, puzzled, “What tofu?”

“The kind you just had,” Ye Shaoyang sn.i.g.g.e.red sinisterly.

Finally, Liu Ming understood what Ye Shaoyang meant. His face became red, and he slightly panicked. Xie Yuqing also knew what he meant. She looked down and found that her s.h.i.+rt was hanging low and her breast were trying to escape. She pulled up her s.h.i.+rt swiftly, and she gave Liu Ming a stern look.
