"Is she stupid? How could she think that Samantha was married to Elder Cho?"

"I praised her earlier because she studied abroad and thought that she was actually a smart woman. But how can a smart woman be this dense?"

Hearing all the criticisms from left and right, Lauren wanted to run away to escape this humiliation. Why did she even think that Samantha's husband was a stingy old man? Her gaze darted towards Oliver who had told her the information earlier. But for the life of her, she could not find the reason to hate her high school crush, she was sure that Oliver had also misunderstood what he may have learned a while ago.

Feeling dejected, confused and irritated, she focused her anger towards Samantha. Shooting daggers at her, Lauren glared at Samantha like her life depended on it.

Sitting on his chair in the study, Elder w.a.n.g felt a headache coming up. He rubbed his forehead in circular motion and sighed at the thought of his granddaughter who had just made a mistake. When will this granddaughter of his every grow up?

He knew for a fact that Elder Cho treasured his grandchildren a lot, especially the eldest grandson, Daniel Cho. And the way that the old man is reacting, he can only a.s.sume that the woman that his granddaughter insulted is probably that grandson's wife.

"I do not know how to apologize for my granddaughter, this old man is truly ashamed of her behavior. I did not raise her well." Elder w.a.n.g waited for a response but was only met with silence. "Elder Cho, what do you plan to do?"

Grandfather Cho looked at the woman in front of them and saw her threatening glare towards Samantha. So without blinking, Grandfather Cho informed Elder w.a.n.g, "I am pulling out my investment! This will teach your son a lesson for not raising his daughter right!"

As soon as Elder w.a.n.g heard him, he felt his blood pressure rising when his neck started to feel sore. Closing his eyes, he was enraged for what is happening but he cannot do anything about it because it was Elder Cho's decision. And his decision was justifiable, however, he still wanted to try.

"As the Chairman of w.a.n.g Group, I know that the investment was worth billions of dollars. This is certainly going to be very tough for us moving forward if we lose your support." Elder w.a.n.g responded.

"I am not going to change my mind. Chunho, you know that I am a merciful man. However, if anyone touches my bottom line even if it is only a small insult, I will not spare whoever that person is!"

Sighing, Elder w.a.n.g could only answer in a low voice, "This is saddening but I understand, Elder Cho. I will explain everything to my son," he wanted to say more but Grandfather Cho had pressed the end b.u.t.ton to end the call as he had already said what he wanted to say.

Turning towards Mr. Jiang, he handed him the mobile phone. Grandfather Cho only had to look at him in the eye and his a.s.sistant already knew what to do. Excusing himself, Mr. Jiang called someone to follow his master's order.

"Wipe that glare off your face young lady!!" Grandfather Cho roared once again, hitting Lauren on the head with his cane, startling everyone. The pain surged on the top of her head and she winced, but it was only hard enough to leave a bruise and nothing more.

"Why did you hit me!?" she yelled, rubbing her head in an attempt to lessen the pain.

"How dare you glare like that? Have you still not learned your lesson?" Grandfather Cho yelled.

Lauren must not have realized how grave the situation was because despite being already told on her grandfather and knowing that she had indeed believed the wrong thing, she was still not sorry about it. The commotion was disturbed when her phone rang and she instantly knew who was calling by the sound of the a.s.signed ringtone.

Reaching her phone from her purse, she looked at the screen and bit her lip when she read what she had already expected to see, it was her father who was calling.

"That must be your father. You should pick it up," Grandfather Cho said.

Her thumb hovered over the green b.u.t.ton and she pressed after inhaling deeply. As soon as she did, the voice of her father came through her phone. Her phone was not on speaker yet the yelling of her father was loud enough to be understood by those standing near her.

"YOU IMPUDENT LITTLE BRAT! How dare you offend Elder Cho?! Do you have any idea what you just did!? We have lost billions because of you! Have you no shame!? Did I raise you like this!?" Lauren's father burst into rage.

Lauren could no longer hold back her tears as it started to flow down her cheeks. "Father! Why are you mad at me? The old man even hit me on the head with his cane!"

"He hit you on the head?! GOOD!! Be thankful that I am not there right now because you deserve more than just a hit on the head for your reckless behavior! I would want to hit you myself!!"
