He had already given her two chances but her stubborn self thinks that she does not have anything to fear.

In Lauren's mind, she is doted by everyone in the family, who in the world would dare cross the w.a.n.gs? For her, the old man was just another rich family among the many others.

"Very well, I have already given you chances yet you kept on being arrogant. I hope that you don't beg me later as I don't give second chances," Grandfather Cho declared before he signaled Mr. Jiang to call someone.

As if the warnings were not enough, she replied, "Grandfather, I am a w.a.n.g, I don't beg to anyone." Lauren continued her ignorance which only aggravated Daniel's grandfather.

"DO NOT CALL ME GRANDFATHER! I do not have a grandchild as stupid as you!" Grandfather Cho yelled.

Lauren flinched at his reaction, she gulped at the scary image of the old man scolding her. Water formed in her eyes and they were threatening to fall but she held herself back; only her father can make her cry. She ground her teeth when she suddenly felt that she had made a mistake, her heart started to race.

Whispers started to became louder, and it was loud enough for people among the crowd to hear. "This Lauren is being so ignorant. I actually thought that even if she was spoiled, she was not this stupid."

"How dare she call someone a gold digger from the Kim Family? They have been rich for generations, I don't think Samantha needs or wants more than what her family can provide for her. Lauren is just being an idiot."

"She is just jealous because Samantha became the highlight of tonight's party while only a few people were paying attention to her all night."

"Off all the people that she had offended, she chose to offend the mighty Elder Cho. I feel sorry for her."

Similar murmurs were heard across the room as they all felt pity for Lauren but at the same time whatever that was about to happen to her, she might just deserve it.

The two male employees from the Cho Corporation were antic.i.p.ating what was about to happen. With alcohol in their hands, it was like watching a soccer game with friends.

However, the show was just about to start and this was only an introduction.

The on-lookers watched as the old man received the mobile phone from his a.s.sistant and brought it up to his ear, leaving a couple of centimeters of s.p.a.ce in between.

There were a few rings before it was answered and a sound of an old man was heard from the other line. "Mhm, Elder Cho. What can I do for you?"

"Chunho, I am at The Royal Palm resort and I met your granddaughter," Grandfather spoke in a non-flattering voice.

Lauren's eyes went wide when she realized that the old man was talking to her grandfather. And what surprised her more was that he did not even use any t.i.tle to call her grandfather, instead, Grandfather Cho called Elder w.a.n.g by his first name — this only happens if the other was either older or higher in status. Her brows furrowed and her heart beat wildly, she was starting to get scared.

Noticing the tone of Elder Cho's voice, Chunho w.a.n.g sighed when he understood that his granddaughter must have done something unlikable for Elder Cho to be personally calling him about this matter. Elder w.a.n.g already knew which granddaughter that he was talking about because Lauren had told him about her high school reunion in the same resort.

"What happened, Elder Cho?" Elder w.a.n.g asked despite being afraid of knowing what his spoiled granddaughter had done to anger the old man.

"She disrespected a member of the Cho Family and I cannot tolerate such behavior!" Grandfather Cho informed, his voice was firm while he stared at Lauren w.a.n.g.

Samantha could feel the rage that Grandfather Cho was emitting next to her. She suddenly felt warm for seeing his reaction like this. The adorable old man was trying to protect his granddaughter-in-law.

"A member of your family?" Elder w.a.n.g did not know that Lauren was acquainted with any members of the Cho Family, so his confusion has gotten even bigger, "Who is this family member? And what has my granddaughter done, if I may ask?" he asked in a polite tone.

Grandfather Cho let out a huff and with his clear and loud voice, he announced, "She disrespected Samantha, the wife of my precious grandson! And your foolish granddaughter dared to call her a gold digger!

"Not only that, she even stupidly dared to mistake my relations.h.i.+p with Samantha! Your spoiled granddaughter thinks that I married my granddaughter-in-law and she announced it here in front of all their cla.s.smates! This is insulting!"

Grandfather Cho's face became red after informing Elder w.a.n.g regarding his granddaughter's wrongdoings.

Upon hearing Grandfather Cho's words, Lauren w.a.n.g's mouth hung open.

"Y-you're... in-laws?" she muttered, her voice was low but was heard by everyone around them

She had wrongly believed that Samantha married that old man but it turns out that he is actually her grandfather-in-law. Sweat formed on her back and she felt chills on every word that was reported to her Grandfather w.a.n.g. She could not say anything more, it was as if her mouth has been glued shut.

Several people from the crowd who blindly believed Lauren's words were startled to hear the truth as well, but they were more shocked in antic.i.p.ation on what will happen to her because of what she had done. It looked like the old man was someone very important, they all wondered what he was going to do next.

Apart from those people, another person in the name of Oliver Su was both relieved and surprised at the same time. Relieved that Samantha did not marry an old man but he was also surprised that Elder Cho was doing this to protect the wife of his grandson.

'Wait,' he thought. 'His grandson? Who is his grandson?' his gaze fell upon Samantha who stood elegantly beside the old man and imagined her as a wife of Elder Cho's grandson, his hands started to itch in antic.i.p.ation.
