Chapter 326 - Revenge 327: Aaron, The Scapegoat

"T-that can't be good. Those people won't be able to acknowledge Aaron as an heir, and even if they did, it will be a whole process." If that happens, one of those people will try and plot something. They will see it as their chance to take over everything.

"I know. Those people are a bunch of greedy pigs, once they heard about the missing jewel, they will use everything that they have to fill their bellies." Truthfully said, Marcus has no care about the family treasure, all he cares about is for his grandson to have what is rightful to him.

It would be easy for him to eliminate those greedy pigs, however, that is not an option and will never be an option. There are things that the Coleman family can't do, and they are the only ones who can do it.

"Tell me right away if Arion is back."

After hearing that, Tess nodded and started to walk towards the door.

"Move, Anna! Move!" Aaron frantically said to Anna. He and Anna are currently eavesdropping at their grandfather and Nanny Tess's conversation. They want to hear more, but their Nanny Tess is about to come out of the door.

If Tess sees them in front of her right after she comes out of the door, she will definitely be suspicious of what the twins are up to.

"W-wait! Don't push me too hard." Anna is not ready to move just yet when her brother pushed her to go hide in the nearest room.

It seems like what Anna just said didn't get through Aaron's ears since he still keeps doing what he is doing, pus.h.i.+ng her. With that, Anna loses her balance. She and her brother both fell down on the floor and it's at the same time when Tess comes out of their grandfather's study office.

With a frown plastered on her face, Tess spoke suspiciously towards the twins," Aaron, what are you and your sister are doing?" Tess could accuse the twins of eavesdropping on her and Marcus's conversation, but she does not have proof. Also, she is not sure if the twins were really eavesdropping in the first place.

"Uh... we, we were trying to place a prank on the room that Daddy is going to stay in later. But with t-too much excitement, brother and I fall down." Anna tried to keep her face straight as she lied to Tess. Tess knows a lot about her, and there is a big possibility that Tess will be able to see that she is lying.

"A prank on your father's arrival? Aaron, what kind of nonsense are you trying to teach on your sister?" When the twins heard that, they both inwardly sighed in relief. It seems like Anna's lie worked on Tess, but somehow, Aaron felt he has been treated unfairly.

Aaron was about to say that it was all Anna's idea, but Anna elbowed her brother indicating that he should not say a word. If Aaron says what he wants to say, Tess will know that the twins are lying. After all, Anna is not the type of person who would do pranks on the other people.

"B-because, I thought it would be fun to see him suffering for at least the first week on him staying here." If they are gonna lie, then Aaron will take it to the next level. It will make him look bad, but do he and his sister have a choice right now?

"Aaron, I know that you already agreed to try and see your father's efforts, but there is no need for you to do any of this and you should also not involve your sister in these kinds of nonsense." Tess firmly told Aaron. The lie that Anna just said is convincing, knowing the fact that Aaron likes to fool around whenever he felt like it.

Aaron only nodded his head and kept listening to every word that Tess is saying to him right now. After a two minute session of scolding from Tess, Tess finally decided to leave and continue the work she left earlier.

"Seriously? You really have to come up with that kind of excuse?" Aaron asked his sister in disbelief. Out of all the excuses that his sister could come up with, why would she choose that? Now, Tess will be keeping an eye on him all the time when his father is staying at the mansion once again. She will think that he is planning on something.

"I can't think of another excuse! And I can't say that it's me who wants to prank Daddy, she will get suspicious!" Anna is sorry for making her brother the scapegoat, but if she didn't do that, Tess will definitely tell their grandfather that they are eavesdropping on their conversation. And it will be a bad ending for her and her brother if that happens.

"Anyways, let's talk to my room. We can't let grandfather hear us." Ever since earlier, Aaron has been itching to talk about what they just heard. He is somewhat surprised that the jewel he and his sister took at the old mansion.

"Okay." Anna nodded and they went on their way towards Aaron's room. She also wants to talk about the family heirloom that they took without their grandfather's permission.

Once the twins reached the room, Aaron is the one who decided to speak first. "I never thought that the jewel we took at the old mansion would be that important." When he and his sister discovered that jewel is the family heirloom, they both thought that it's not important.

However, after hearing that conversation between Tess and their grandfather, they both now know that their uncle James should never get their hands on that jewel no matter what.

"Should we tell grandfather that we are hiding the jewel?' Anna asked. Knowing that their grandfather is stressing himself about the supposedly missing jewel, Anna is feeling guilty about it.

"No. We can't. Not yet anyway." Aaron replied in a serious manner. "I'm sure that grandfather already told uncle James that the Jewel has gone missing, and if we tell grandfather that we have the jewel, I'm sure that grandfather will also tell that to uncle James."

Their grandfather trusts their uncle James too much, that is why they can't risk telling their grandfather the truth about the jewel.

The twins now regret not recording what happened at the old mansion. If they had done that, then they will show it to their grandfather as proof that James is plotting something against the family.
