they all scattered faster than metal b.a.l.l.s of an exploding claymore mine as they ran away from shad.

" You've already seen something that you shouldn't, I think it's time to take it to your grave."

As he was saying that, Lightning shone in front of his body. At the same time, five lightning spears emerged.

Each of them was at least two to three meters long. whether it was the shafts of the pointy heads, they were all made with pure white bolts of lightning. So one can imagine the amount of lightning shad had consumed to make them.

the hot sparks coming from them was proof that they had the power to melt Iron and destroyed or incinerated everything in their wakes.

Nevertheless, Shad was not satisfied with them. he was able to create this amount before becoming a 4th cla.s.s mage.

'More' he thought.

The lightning bolts around his body continued to multiply and glowed brighter.

A colossal amount of energy gathered around him as the number of Lightning spears continued to increase. in less than two seconds, there were in increased of two more lightning spears making it seven. they were all hovering around him with Shad in the center.

If the running a.s.sa.s.sins were to look back, they would have been able to see that each of the lightning spears was pointing at each of their directions. however, they did not dare, all the care about was to run away as far as they could from that freak and each seconds count.

Still, it was a wise decision. Shad's spiritual force was as strong as a peak 5th cla.s.s mage, maybe even more powerful. he was able to cover a good five hundred meters with it. so as long the a.s.sa.s.sins were still within that range, they were still in grave danger.

the seven lightning spears that became almost like plasma cried out as they flew towards each of their targets like wire-guided missiles.

The lights coming from them blew away the darkness of the night like a meteor shower and with a speed that was almost fast enough to break through the sound barrier.

From launching it, it took less than a second to hit their targets. it defied their defenses and killed them brutally.

they let out a pained scream as the lightning spears pierced through their bodies. Even the 4th cla.s.s warriors couldn't overcome the lightning spears with their battle qi and the pain eroding their nervous system.

all they could do was to let out a deathly scream and collapsed on the ground. there was no way for their recovery ability to help them, and they quickly turned into charcoals.

all of them died on the spot except for one, the leader of the a.s.sa.s.sins. when the lightning spears. .h.i.t him, it blew away a portion of his clothing before it scattered in the air revealing some sort of black armor underneath his clothing.

Being hit by that attack, the leader of the a.s.sa.s.sins only fell down but got up quickly and kept on running without looking back. he had already figured out that Shad had used some sort of long-range attack as they were making their escape.

Furthermore, he had already known some his subordinates have died from that attack as well as he was able to hear their deathly screams. nonetheless, he did not care about that or stay and take revenge for them. there was only one thing on his mind, that is getting as far away as possible from this d.a.m.n place.

while he was running for his life, he couldn't help but cursed at the person putting that mission in the Chronos a.s.sa.s.sin guild without any accurate information about the power of the target. the person only said that he was just a new ascended senior mage that used lightning element but that b.a.s.t.a.r.d did not put that the target was able to freely manipulate lightning without the use of magic spell as a medium.

As an a.s.sa.s.sin, they usually make ample preparation before a mission. For example, knowing the target's ident.i.ty, strength, habits, weaknesses, and so on and forth.

By knowing their enemy, they will emerge victorious one hundred times in hundred battles. for them, it was meaningless to sacrifice themselves to complete a mission.

For them, being an a.s.sa.s.sin isn't generally being a tool for murder. it is a way of cultivation just like a swordsman or a mage. it is not only about killing the target regardless of the price.

the most important aspect of being a true a.s.sa.s.sin was whether they were able to carry out the overall strategy or complete a mission while evaluating whether it is worth doing.

This was the teaching of the leader of Chronos to all of his members. right now, the a.s.sa.s.sin was remembering all those things. if he had listened to what the leader of Chronos had said instead of taking that d.a.m.n mission without making any ample preparations on his own rather than only goes by the information the employee had provided, he wouldn't have lost his subordinates as well as running for his life like a dog.

However, it was too late for regret, all he could do now was to do his hardest to survive. he knew that his opponent was formidable, so he ran away with all his might.

The moment when he thought he was safe after running more than ten minutes which a good distance away from Shad, Shad's lazy voice suddenly rang out from behind him: " you think you could escape?"

within his body, faint white light can be seen as the bolts of lightning was running through his veins making visible to naked eyes. the white lines pattern extend from his eyes to his toes.

his heartbeat was increasing rapidly, almost at least five times the normal heartbeat as he was running faster and faster closing the distance tween him and the escaped a.s.sa.s.sin.

It was as if he was in shock due to the electricity pumping through his nerves and was able to easily traverse the sky under the moonlight as if the distance was not a hindrance to him, with a few more steps, he easily caught up to to the escaped a.s.sa.s.sin.

Even though the a.s.sa.s.sin was very fast, he was far lacking compared to Shad. without taking into consideration him able to channel electricity through his body which makes him a lot faster than any 5th cla.s.s warriors.

He had tempered his body with lightning as well as running more than twenty kilometers every day with weight on his body while training on the mountains for two years. So even without the use of lightning in his body, he would still able to catch up to the a.s.sa.s.sin.

The a.s.sa.s.sin was scared out of his wits when he saw Shad get right behind him with such ease. He unleashed a slash with his knife as fast as lightning towards Shad, but he easily evaded it.

At the same time, he made a fist with his right hand.

Shad's fist landed on the a.s.sa.s.sin's chest. the chest of the a.s.sa.s.sin shook violently as he flew fifty feet away from the top of the house he was running and landed on the street, creating a deep pit on street.

" Ahh!"

feeling the pain from his chest, the a.s.sa.s.sin painfully grimaced. the crisp sounds of bones breaking appeared. this punch had destroyed numerous bones in his body as his stomach showed sign of caving in, leaving him with only a thread of his life. he wanted to stand up but discovered that he didn't have the strength to do so.

" it seems that armor of yours is only able to reduce the damage of an elemental attack, not a physical one, and also there is a limit to it," said Shad with a shallow smile on his face.

The most terrifying thing was that Shad was slowly walking towards him. when every step fell, his heart would violently shake once. it was as if it wasn't Shad's steps but the G.o.d of death's.

Nevertheless, the a.s.sa.s.sin channeled every ounce of his battle qi through his body while gritting his teeth and turned into smoke yet again to escape with his top speed.

" what happened?" the a.s.sa.s.sin slamming down into the streets had alarmed many bystanders. they came out to see what was going on and noticed the chase.

Seeing the masked men in black clothing, someone instantly recognized the mask" That's.... an a.s.sa.s.sin from the Chronos Guild, right?"

Many people were in disbelief while watching the scene. the a.s.sa.s.sins from Chronos guild were very famous and also know as the strongest a.s.sa.s.sin Guild throughout the continent. they have a bunch of strong a.s.sa.s.sins within their ranks, and their success rate was at least 96%.

Yet today, they saw one of them running for his life like a stray dog while being hunted down by someone, not any one of them but a silver level one as he was wearing a silver mask. who would believe such tale?

while many people were astonished by this scene, Shad already caught up again with the a.s.sa.s.sin. this time instead of punching him, Shad took out a small knife from his magic pouch. with a cold glint, Shad pierced the knife straight towards the a.s.sa.s.sin's back.

The stab was too fast that the a.s.sa.s.sin did not have time to react. the knife pierced through the armor as though it was some sort of rubber. he fell down with his blood stained the ground.

Even being stabbed, he was still alive. he vomited a mouthful of blood while laying on the ground. his face was facing the sky with a pale expression while his eyes were radiating a will to live.

his legs s.h.i.+vered from fear while his heart-thumpingly told him to escape otherwise, it truly was going to be the end for him. the a.s.sa.s.sin knew that he had provoked a grim reaper. he had truly regretted taking that mission but it was too late now.

" please spar....."

Shad was too lazy to listen to the a.s.sa.s.sin's drivel. he slashed his neck with the b.l.o.o.d.y knife on his hand before he disappeared within the night like a shadow, leaving the bystanders pale in horror after seeing this scene.
