27 Chapter 27:

"Zavier. W-"

"He is alright. Don't be too loud or he'll awake from his comatose phase." Archmage Seria says, standing at my side while I looked to my side and saw he was laying down on the bed beside me. More bandages on him than they were on me causing me to worry more.

"He doesn't look alright," I note as she shrugged and walked around and checked the clipboard at the foot of the bed.

"He lost a lot of blood. I didn't get the clearance to give him witch blood." She tells me, setting the clipboard down and turning to me. "For you. I was given the clearance. Hence why you are awake now." Seria explains while I nodded and pulled the covers off my legs. "That's not a good idea." He comments when I narrowed my eyes and took the IV out of my arm.

"I don't care." I stood up, feeling completely weak in my legs. My legs bucked underneath me causing me to fall on the ground.

"I told you." She simply says, walking over to me and offers me a hand but I refused it and stood back up.

"I don't need your help." I sneer, wobbling over to Zavier and sitting on the bed beside him. His face looked so pale that it hurt to even look at him, the bandages all over him making me grasp his hand. "I'm so sorry. I never meant for you to get hurt." I whisper to him, not caring whether she heard me or not.

I leaned over, pressing my forehead on his shoulder and hoping he would give me some kind of comfort. I've seen friends die in battle, seen them all die in front of me.

But this... This was the hardest thing I've ever been through.

"He will be better. Just give it a few days alright?" Her voice seemed softer this time when I pulled away and noticed I was crying.

"Why did you wake me up early?" I ask quietly, wiping my tears away and glancing over my shoulder at her. Her cold grey eyes stared back at me as she held her hand out to me.

"Come. I'd like you to speak with someone." She admits while I turned back to Zavier and kissed his forehead, letting his hand go to grab hers.

She leads me out of the room slowly, knowing that I was still weak from the blood loss but doing much better than before. We walked down a hallway and entered into a room that seemed like to be an office.

"Sit down. It'll make you feel better." Archmage Seria tells me when I dropped into the seat and looked around to see several little nicknacks and piles of paper. She walked over to the other chair and sat down, waiting for something to happen.

I felt strange in the room and noticed I was in a different outfit than before. It seemed like they changed my b.l.o.o.d.y outfit from before which didn't surprise me, but their choice of clothes made me wonder why I was in all white clothes.

It didn't really matter, but I was curious about why the pureness.

"Sorry I am late! I didn't mean to but the kids in the mechanics' department kept me. Oh! h.e.l.lo! I am Archmage Nexus! Nice to meet you!" A short man, with lots of gears and tools on him, introduced himself as he carried several bolts and some kind of plate of metal.

He had curly red hair as well, though his eyes were hazel and kind. Though he looked a tad bit crazy, his personality was hyper and could bring a smile to anyone around. His brown pants and white t-s.h.i.+rt were covered in oil and rip probably from tinkering and what not.

"Hi..." I mumble as I took his hand.

"Hi! It's a lovely day is it not?! Oh! Sister! Nice to see your be"

"Shut up and sit down." Archmage Seria growls when Archmage Nexus let my poor hand go and huffed, sitting down beside her.

"Why must you be so mean?! It's a nice-"

"Alright. That's enough from you." She swiped her hand, his mouth moving but no sound coming from him making me chuckle and shake my head in disbelief.

I would never expect those two to be siblings. Nor the fact that the man was an Archmage, he just seems too lenient to be someone in power.

Archmage Seria looked away, something catching her eyes while Archmage Nexus messed with the metal plate he was working on. Looking completely focused on the device as the door once again opened.

"You know. I'm getting tired of these surprise meetings about dumb coven things." A man with long dark brown hair comments, looking like a dark wizard as he noticed me in the chair. His eyes quirking up a little bit. "Why h.e.l.lo. I am Archmage Wyn. I teach how one can control the arts of weather." He introduces, looking a lot more toned down than Archmage Nexus.

Archmage Wyn was wearing a long black cape and had cross shape earing in his left ear. His warm yet cautious brown eyes seemed to tone down the crazy that anyone could have.

He was taller than any of the other Archmages and yet he was the leanest of them all. His brown hair was pulled back in a small ponytail that purposely left some down.

His hair made me jealous of the stupid blonde curls I had. But I couldn't allow them to see my true ident.i.ty.

At least not now.

"Hey, jacka.s.s. Move so I can see the girl I've been hearing about all week." A small girly voice said behind Archmage Wyn when he rolled his eyes and moved out of the way.

My eyes trailed down to the girl's height while I stared at her a little surprised at her small four-foot height. Her curly brown hair bounced in a ponytail as she squealed and rushed over to me, the bright blue in her eyes sparkling.

"Oh look at her! She's adorable! She has muscle too! Oh, this one is mine!" The woman held onto my arm when I forced a smile and took my arm back. "Oh! Sorry, dearie! My name is Poppy! I am the Archmage that teaches combat and how to fight against all kind of creatures." Poppy tells me, her kind nature making it hard for me to believe that she is dangerous.

Poppy was wearing baggy pants that had lots of pockets and a tight green s.h.i.+rt that said 'strongest Archmage here'. It was humorous considering she looked the kindest and most nurturing. But as I've seen.

Looks can be deceiving.

Look at me for instance.

"Poppy. You tell anyone you meet to call you Archmage Poppy. The girl isn't on first name bases yet." Archmage Seria points out as Archmage Nexus smacks her leg.

He was trying to say something but forgot he was silenced so huffed and went back to his work. Archmage Wyn snickered and went over to where Archmage Seria was and sat on the arm of the couch she was on.

"Nice to meet you, Archmage Poppy," I said, shaking her hand and looking at her in shock at the strength in the handshake.

"Please. Ignore Seria and call me Poppy. All my students do." She whispered the last part to me making me laugh to myself and nodded in agreement.

She skipped over to the couch and jumped in between Archmage Seria and Nexus. Archmage Seria looked displeased that she crammed herself on the couch as Archmage Nexus happily showed her what he was doing.

"Let me guess. Lily is busy with the students down in the preserves building again?" Archmage Wyn questions when Poppy jumped at the name of Lily.

"Oh! Why yes! Those students are going through some kind of crisis! Something about the gra.s.s not being green enough or something." Her cheery att.i.tude made it hard to take whatever she said seriously but I tried my best efforts to control my irritation.

"Actually. We were making sure that the animals in the plant life division would have safe plants to eat." A woman in a white dress and a green shaw walked in. Her green eyes kind and soft as she smiled sweetly at me and held her hand out to me. "Nice to meet you dear, My name is Archmage Lilian, but you may call me Lily." Her smile was so soft that it melted my insides a little bit.

"Nice to meet you, Lily." I shook her hand, the softness in her palms making me realize mine were rough and ragged.

"So that's where Poppy got it from. Lily, stop teaching these people to call you by your name. You're an Archmage after all." Archmage Seria growls, clearly irritated at the Poppy and Lily as Lily rolled her eyes and let my hand go.

"Relax, Seria. The girl poses no threat. She probably feels cornered after what happened in the meadow the other day. Give her a break. She's been through an ordeal." Lily says, her voice sounding so angelic and comforting that I almost wasn't even paying attention.

"Whatever. It's no wonder these young mages think they are the boss." Archmage Seria grumbles when I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.

"Are we waiting on the High Preist and Priestess?" Lily asks the others, simply sitting in the chair beside me while I crossed my legs and turned to face them.

"Yeah. The High Preist won't be able to make it since he is contacting the pack that her mate has come from. High Priestess has been dealing with the a.s.sa.s.sins that showed up on our borders the other day. She will be here in a moment." Archmage Seria informs them when I cleared my throat.

"You know what pack we came from?" I question all eyes on me for a moment before turning to Archmage Seria.

"Yes. Your mate told us where. He'd woken up before his time and was very... hostile towards the mages. Hence why you were placed in the same room as he was. He was very worried and gave us the information we needed in order to contact the Beta of the pack you both are from." Archmage Seria told me while I thought for a moment, knowing that Claire would have died to come here and see the coven.

I also know that Ajax and the others will be furious at the news that I decided to travel with Jerson.

"We also know that you are a powerful mage. One that may even suppress us." Archmage Seria admits making me snap my eyes up at her with a bewildered look. "We felt the power you had when you killed those a.s.sa.s.sins. A few of us were even there to witness it." She says when Poppy and Archmage Wyn nodded in agreement.

"Oh..." I smartly say as Lily and Archmage Nexus looked at the four of us, unaware of what we were reliving.

No one else said a word, each of them thinking while I was left with my own thoughts. I wasn't aware that my fight with the a.s.sa.s.sins and Jerson was so major. Was that what Poppy meant by rumors?

Were people aware of what I can do?

Why were Archmage Seria, Wyn, and Poppy there when I was fighting the a.s.sa.s.sins?

If they were there, why didn't they help?

I was so confused as to why it was such a big deal that I was using magic to fight. Surely, Archmage Seria knew I had some magical ability and she was excited to see me out of the coven. And yet here I am again, this time it was the coven trying to keep us here.

If they really wanted us gone, the pack could have come to pick us up and Archmage Seria wouldn't have woken me up.

As I was about to ask another question, the door reopened.
