17 Chapter 17:

Ajax had a scruffy beard and tired old man eyes that reflected his fatherhood. Though he never once complained about his daughter, a.s.suring me she was a perfect angel but I hear the truth from Alex.

She was just as devilish as I was.

He was wearing a light green b.u.t.ton up s.h.i.+rt with dark washed jeans, trying to look like a young guy but his whole posture and demeanor screamed dad. Alex on the other was already pregnant with the next child so he was always on high alert, worried that their next child would get harm at the simplest tasks.

But I could tell she was enjoying the attention and carefulness from him since he was usually a rowdy person.

I couldn't blame her.

He tends to have a very low attention span...

"You do realize that you are undercover from the league and the pack?" Ajax asks me as if I was a child while I scoffed and set my fork down on the plate.

"You do realize I am so bored in this house? I've been here just doing absolutely nothing?" I point out with a huff that seemed to amused Ajax and turned back to his food.

"Even if you did want to work. Where would you? You have no school experience and the only thing you've done is kill people." He reminds me when I bite my bottom lip and ma.s.saged my temples.

He's completely right about that.

Even if I wanted to work, I don't have any credible experience in any field excepting for being a killer...

"What if she trains our soldiers?" Alex says all of a sudden causing both of us to look at her in disbelief. She seemed unaware of what she said and continued to speak. "There have been more attacks recently and they aren't armed to go against any witch's or any being with magical power. So why don't you train them?" Alex says while Claire nods in acceptance and tapped on the two-year-old's nose.

"Are you crazy...?" Ajax asked her when the lightbulb in his head went off. "Oh. It's because you're pregnant. Don't mind her th-"

A shoe slammed into his face making him yelp and push the shoe away, only causing him to fall on the ground. Alex glared daggers at him as she smiled at me and slipped her shoe back on completely ignoring her mate's whine.

"Don't mind him. He's just being an a.s.shole- I mean... he's being a meanie." She corrected herself while her two year old stared at her before frowning.

"No! Mean!" She screeched, jumping from her seat and jumping on Ajax causing him to fall on the ground once again. He huffed, defeated while Valerie scolded him with her tiny finger.

"As I was saying. The head pack warrior is retiring and we need a new trainer. There are a few candidates but I know you could take the spot easily. Everyone loves you now and even though you'll have to see him again. You will have something to do." She explains to me as the charm around my neck burned me a little at the thought of seeing him.

Though she was right.

After helping the pack so much, I've gained a good reputation for helping everyone. They've even gone so far to call me the true Luna rather than Zavier's finance. Not gonna lie, I loved being called the Luna.

But that was beside the point.

I couldn't face him again.

There's was no way-

"What if we made it a requirement to him and the pack?" Claire blurts out making no sense when she held her finger up. "Let me explain. What if Ajax, Alex and I propose you to train the warriors but one requirement for the agreement is that neither of you has contact. Would you be alright that?" She asks me making me think about the propose.

That would work if everything went to plan. I wouldn't mind doing that since I would have something to do and if I had to leave or met my mate then that would work perfectly since the pack could protect themselves.

And now that the warriors I knew a while back were growing old, they'd need to leave the pack with the younger generation that knew nothing about fighting yet.

I remember teaching a few kids a year ago and it was terrible due to the technology and s.h.i.+t which I never understood their obsession with the technology. Though they learned quickly not to p.i.s.s me off.

Let's just say they learned not to cause any problems or have their phones at training.

Though there was one problem with this option.

Would he even follow it...?

What am I thinking, of course, he would.

He has a wife or soon to be wife and I was the last thing in his mind.

"Alright. Talk to him but I have a few more conditions if he agrees to this." I told the ladies making them nearly jump out of their seats.

"Yes! I've been waiting for ages for this! I've always wanted to work beside you, Faye!" Alex squeals as Valerie jumped off her father and cheered with her mother.

"Yay!" Valerie screams allowing Ajax to get off the ground and slowly sit back into his seat.

"About time. Do you know how stressful the pack members can be? I've been seriously doubting this whole pack witch role. It'll be nice to have a little bit of help." Claire comments with a tired sigh making me smirk and lean back in my seat.

"I already help you a lot at the hospital." I point out as she nods.

"Exactly. I get the most meaningless tasks. It's super boring honestly. I want to train the members to be against witches with you. I can even call one of my vampire buddies. I haven't seen him since I was a teenager but I've always had contact with him." She offers when I nodded and thought of training exercises for the pack members.

"Yeah. They'll need to learn how to fight every type of creature. I will contact some people from the league that I trust enough." I said earning a sharp look from Ajax, his muscles tensing.

He hated anything that had to do with the league and never liked speaking about it.

He never wanted his daughter to be caught in the system.

I didn't blame him though.

I want to keep them all away from the league.

"Are you sure about that? You do realize they are trained killers and they are growing stronger and stronger every day ever since we left?" He reminds me, his tone a little forceful when I nodded and leaned forward.

"I'll keep them all away from you all. I will only have connections with the league. I promise to not get them involved. I'll only contact a few people that I know I can ki-" I glanced down at the wide-eyed girl and corrected myself. "I will make sure I can make them go to sleep," I a.s.sure him while smiling at Valerie.

"I don't like this idea. You're welcoming them here and I can't accept th"

Crack.

All four of us shared the same look before I nodded at Claire as she grabbed both Alex and Valerie, teleporting within a second. I changed into Xenon's character while changing Ajax into his a.s.sa.s.sins outfit as well.

"Take the front. I got the back." I whisper to him, casting a spell on our feet to make us completely silent. He crouched and walked over to the front door when I went to the back door, both of us waiting for whoever was outside to come in.

We stood there for a few seconds before there was a loud crash than a thud following behind. My eyes snapped to the grenade on the ground as Ajax dove out of the way.

I concealed the explosion in a small barrier, holding it there while it exploded and slowly disappeared. Both doors were kicked down by several a.s.sa.s.sins with guns and knives.

"Ajax! Now!" I yell, using a strong force to throw their weapons to the ground and turning to the people behind me. Ajax came out in his wolf form and tore into one of the a.s.sa.s.sin's throat while I kicked several of them out of the door and followed them outside.

"Venite ad me ut catuli leonis," I called, a lion roaring before coming from the ground and diving for one of the a.s.sa.s.sins, leaving me with the other three.

"How many more times must we come? It's time to serve your sentence for your betrayal. It'll only make it worse-"

"Oh shut up." I snap, taking several steps towards the a.s.sa.s.sins. "You've been saying this for two years now. What makes you think I'm going back? You must be dumb as s.h.i.+t." I scoffed and pulled all the power into my hands and grinned at the man who was talking. "Adolebitque eum vivere!" I yell throwing all my force to the man in front while a burst in flames wrapped around him, his ear piercing scream could be heard from anywhere.

The other two a.s.sa.s.sins hurried to scurry away, not wanting to face the same wrath their friends just saw. It was pretty sad actually, there was no more fun killing people from the league since they sent newbies to get me.

The lioness that tore through the other a.s.sa.s.sin has left him breathing while I patted the spirit and allowed her to disappear. I walked slowly over to the a.s.sa.s.sin who was slowly bleeding out on the ground before kneeling down to him and looking at him with pity.

"Why must you all come after me if you know you are going to die?" I ask, not expecting an answer before I closed my eyes and placed my hand on the kid. "Sana," I mumble, the bright golden light healing his throat enough for him to speak and practically live

The young kid gasps for breath that he didn't have before and held onto his neck enough to stop the bleeding. His black eyes looking at me in pure shock when I stood up and held my hand down to him.

"Come. I will watch over you now or you can return to the life of killing." I offer him, knowing he could very well run away and the league would never think he was alive since the other witnessed his fall.

The kid scrambled off the ground without my help, his eyes glaring at my hand as he took another few steps away from me. His fear hurting me slightly but it was better than being seen as weak.

"Y-You just killed me then you healed me before I could pa.s.s! Why should I even trust any of your judgment?!" He yells, his voice not even sounding mature causing me to frown.

"And the league treats you better?" I ask him causing him to look away. "You should know who I am. I already save a few of your friends that seem deceased." I told him as he snapped his attention to me again.

"No! Everyone who has come you've killed! Y-You're a monster!" He screams at me while I narrowed my eyes and walked over to the shaking boy, grabbing him by his shoulders.

"What does that make you kid? We were both raised the same way so don't give me that monster bull s.h.i.+t. I've saved nearly fifteen kids your age from the league." I told him when he threw my hands off his shoulders making me grit my teeth and shake my head. "You don't have to trust me. But if you want to get out of the league. I'm your only way. You'll have a family, a real home. I can give you a new world. You just have to let me show you." I convince, not sure what else to tell the kid as he looked at me again.

It seemed like he was in deep thought, not sure whether to believe my words but I had no reason to lie to him.

If I wanted him dead I would have killed him.

If I wanted answers from him I would have gotten them.

I can get anything I wanted from him yet here I am giving him the choice whether to walk away or join me.

"Show me the others. That's the only way I'll believe you." He compromises when I nodded and held my hand out once again.

"Let me take you there then." He looked down at my hand and hesitated taking it. "Come on, Ajax!" I bark for him as the wolf walks out of the house unscathed and allowed me to touch his head. "You're gonna want to throw up in a few seconds." Before the kid could ask what I meant, I teleported to the pack house where Claire and the others were.
