Early the next morning, Ruan Bai set out from his home. He had asked his mother to prepare two portions of breakfast on the pretext of him feeling hungry easily. But in fact, one portion was for She Yuan.

Ruan Bai arrived at She Yuan's flat before 7:30 a.m. The door opened as soon as he knocked. He looked up to see the home robot standing in the doorway, instead of She Yuan.

Yesterday She Yuan had imported Ruan Bai's photo to Face Recognition System of the home robot, so the robot would answer the door as soon as Ruan Bai knocked.

Ruan Bai touched the robot's head and praised, "Wow, you're doing a terrific job."

The home robot felt happy and broke into a fit of mechanical giggles.

Ruan Bai walked around the flat and found that the door of the main bedroom was closed tightly. He guessed that She Yuan was still sleeping. So he crept into the kitchen, washed his hands, and set the breakfast on the table.

He got up early this morning and had no time to feed Dave. Although guarding beasts relied on their masters' optical computers to get power, as the simulation technology had matured, they had the same characteristics as real animals, such as habits and appearance, but they wouldn't lose hair, defecate or die. So it was convenient to have a guarding beast for company.

For example, the prototype of Dave was an improved pet pig. The length of his body wouldn't exceed 60 centimetres even when he matured physically. His whole body was pink and covered with soft fine hair, and His ears slightly sagged. When he was happy, his ears would stand up. He often hummed to himself and enjoyed his favorite food.

Compared with other people's guardian animals, Dave was not outstanding because he was small in size and timid. In addition, Ruan Bai had always spoiled Dave from an early age. Therefore, Dave was often lazy in training, which led to him being less powerful than other pig-shaped guarding beasts of his own kind. Ruan Bai opened his optical computer and let Dave out. Then he gave Dave a big hug and took out an energy stick which was to Dave's taste. Dave, who had been feeling drowsy, didn't want to play with his master. But when he saw the energy stick, he immediately cheered up and wagged his tail, then began to bite the energy stick.

After feeding the guarding pig, Ruan Bai glanced at the clock on the wall. It was almost eight o'clock. He had to go to cla.s.s at 9 o'clock, so it was time to wake She Yuan up.

He left the kitchen, walked to the door of She Yuan's bedroom and knocked, but no one answered.

He again knocked on the door and shouted, "Mr. She, I'm Ruan Bai.  Are you awake?" There was still no response.

He pressed his ear to the closed door, listening for any noise to come. Then he raised his voice, "Mr. She?"

Just as the words fell from his lips, the door was pulled open from the inside. Ruan Bai lost his balance and fell forward into a warm embrace.

Ruan Bai looked up to see She Yuan who squinted at her through lidded eyes with knitted brows.

She Yuan got up on the wrong side of the bed. In this case, he would blow up at anyone who woke him. In his student days, he once hit his best friend on the head with his cell phone because that guy disturbed him when he was sleeping. Anyway, when he was drowsy, he was like a fierce animal and no one knew when he would bare its fangs and attack others.

She Yuan was bare-chested, wearing only a pair of pajama pants. Ruan Bai could see the edge of his black underpants.

His shoulders were broad and his waist narrow. He had a six-pack stomach and was extremely well-proportioned. The lines of his firm abs dipped down to his black underpants.
