Chapter 339 - Sea of clouds

Chapter 339: Sea of clouds

The journey to the center of the island was smooth sailing. There weren’t any other challenges on the way and the team arrived at their designated area following the inbuilt trail.

The Sea of clouds lives up to its name. On top of a hill on the island, there was a special place with a unique landform. It seemed like a valley, surrounded by clouds and stone pillars shooting up to the sky.

On the shorter hill tops surrounding the valley, there were many pavilions built on them. Partic.i.p.ants would need to get into the pavilions and fight for the first ten places.

Jiang Yuan pointed to the stone pillar in the middle and whispered to them. “Look at that. There’s a teleportation spell formation there. It can only take up to ten people.”

In summary, this round may not need one to start a killing spree. Only ten would have the right to fight for the top three spots. This is the round that was easiest for one to get into accidents and one where people would set many traps. So irregardless of one’s ability, he or she may be kicked out too.

“Where is the emperor’s order?” Yan Wugui asked.

At this stage, Jiang Yuan is not keeping anything from them anymore. “If its here, it will appear at the end”

“Yes.”

Jiang Yuan then turned to Lu Mingshu. “Miss Ji?”

“Does prince Jiang want me to put in hundred or fifty percent of my effort?”

Jiang Yuan stared at her blankly.

“If it’s fifty, I’ll do as you say to help you get into the top ten.”

“What about one hundred?” Jiang Yuan asked curiously.

“Then you’ll have to let me lead.” Lu Mingshu said monotonously.

“You’re not shy, are you?” Jiang Yuan joked and shook her head. “It is not an easy decision.”

Lu Mingshu nodded and let her have some time to decide.

Jiang Yuan thought for a while before nodding. “Then I’ll let Miss Ji leas.”

“I think prince Jiang is already aware of my rules.” Lu Mingshu nodded. “If you choose to let me the lead, then you must follow my commands strictly, no matter how ridiculous they are.”

“Okay.” Jiang Yuan smiled.

After the previous battle, Jiang Yuan had seen how valuable Lu Mingshu was. Her strength was similar, or only a bit weaker than hers, and nowhere near Yan Wugui’s. But her skill and planning was something that Jiang Yuan knows that she would not be able to find anywhere.

“Okay, so there are some things that I did not have the time to inform prince Jiang previously. But now, let’s get some things clear first.”

“Please.” Jiang Yuan reached out her hand, indicating for her to start.

Lu Mingshu did not say anything that was too complicated. She only explained her commands again, for example, direction and timing.

Jiang Yuan listened to it carefully and asked questions when she wasn’t sure. She even took note of things she needed. After confirming with Lu Mingshu, she then rested awhile and looked around to see who else was already in the pavilion.

The four princes were the first to arrive, they shared a pavilion and each stood at a side, discussing with their team members the next step.

All three of them brought companions, only the floating cloud gentleman who was on his own. He stood at the side by himself, which made him look lonely as the others were all discussing their next step.

Lu Mingshu bit her lips and went closer to Jiang Yuan. “Prince Jiang, I have some questions. If you find them too private, you can choose to not answer.”

“Sure.” Jiang Yuan shrugged. “As long as it’s not about a secret about the Jiangs or something that is too private, I will answer them.”

Lu Mingshu nodded. “How’s the floating cloud gentleman’s situation like in the Nie family?”

“Nie Rufei is obsessed with him, and he can have anything he wants.” Jiang Yuan said without any thought.

“No, what I mean is that who in the Nie family treats him well?”

Jiang Yuan raised her eyebrow. She answered after awhile. “The Nie family dotes on their elder miss, they will do anything she asks for. Fu Yun is talented on the other hand too, worth the investment.”

“But he isn’t related to them, and he doesn’t talk to others much, am I right?”

“Well, he wqs always like this. Unpleasant but still better than hypocrites who sweet talk.” Jiang Yuan laughed.

“That’s what the Nie family thinks about him?”

“I guess so?” Jiang Yuan shrugged . She doesn’t seem to be interested in how the Nies viewed the floating cloud gentleman.

“Do you think that he joined forces with Prince Chu because of his family or was it his own decision?”

“From what I know about him, it should be his decision. But it’s definitely not something that the Nie’s would disagree to.” Jiang Yuan thought for a while before answering.

“So that means he does still have a certain place in the Nie family.” Lu Mingshu asked.

“Yeah.”

After this, Lu Ming shu asked about the other princes, getting to know the relations.h.i.+p between them.

As time pa.s.sed, more and more arrived at the pavilion.

When the pavilions were filled, the time was up.

There were more than five thousand people at the start, but there were only a hundred left now. Most were aristocratic family members, and only a few were from weak backgrounds or private candidates.

The bell rang and three freezing spirit elders appeared. One of them was the one that questioned them previously.

They didn’t waste much time and gave the instructiona fast. “For the third round, the first ten to reach the heaven core will be the winner. There is no limited time and everything is allowed. Start.”

When they finished, the freezing spirit elders went into the hill and sat down. Not doing anything else.

The crowd mingled for an hour and everyone made deals with everyone they know to go in together.

“Miss Ji? Jiang Yuan whispered.

“Since the other three princes aren’t doing anything, then we don’t need to either, right?” Lu Mingshu remained seated.

Jiang Yuan stared at her blankly for a moment before nodding.

The four princes might be just a nickname, but in these few years, it had created an image for them and the cultivators in their generation all dared not mess with them. So if the four of them did not start, none dared to as well.

“Then we will take our time.”

“Mhmm.” Jiang Yuan leaned back. That’s something she would do too.

At the start, the cultivators in the sea of cloud dared not make a move, but as the number of people coming in increased, filling up the place, many start to fight.

Lu Mingshu stared at the clouds. “They are a distraction?” She pointed at the clouds.

“Not only so.” Jiang Yuan nooded. It will slowly take in soul energy, and once it’s full, it will realise, hitting the one who’se nearer to him. So, you will need to take note of what you’re stepping on later.

Lu Mingshu sighed. It’s really not an easy round. There’s too much distraction. A hundered of people fighting against each other is not a simple task, she’ll need to figure out where to stand adn take note of the cloud too. ~to suceed, not only you have to be capable, but lucky too.~

To her, only data is realistic. She do not know how to calculate luck, and it’s uncontrollable. ~I will try to get enough data to lower the per centage of luck affecting.~

After sometime, the cloud finally collected enough soul energy, and let out a fire ball out of sudden, hitting the first cultivating down, leaving a blood curling scream behind.

The crowd turned silent after he fell.

But soon after, the fight became way mroe intense.

The partic.i.p.ants are all aware how bad the consiquence would be if they fail. Falling down frpom here would only cause an injury if one’s lucky, but half of his life if he’s not.

Lu mingshu suddenly stood up and shouted. “Let’s go!”
