Chapter 272 - Finally

A car was parked in front of a huge fountain in the middle of the capital. A woman inside the car was holding a gun while a five year old boy sat quietly, just looking at her.

"Little s.h.i.+n, do you know that your father is a monster? No wonder you don't have a mom, right? She probably got too scared of that horrifying father of yours so she left you, am I right?" The woman taunted, her voice sounding like the voice of someone who wasn't sane.

"No. Father said my mother will come back to us soon. We are both waiting for her return." Little s.h.i.+n said, his voice was serious and honest. His ethereally beautiful smokey-silver-grey colored eyes were filled with determination and fighting spirit. A sight that made the woman laugh like someone on the verge of a mental breakdown.

This teacher was always nice to him at school. That was why his big brother YiJin didn't suspect her at all.

"Ha! That monster father of yours is lying. Do you know who I am? I am the daughter of the family he destroyed. That's why I… I will kill you. I will return to him the pain he gave me. I will make him feel the pain of losing the only thing he cares about. Today, you will die, blame your monster father because you will die on his behalf." The woman said as she laughed hysterically. She began to raise her hand but before she could point the gun to his head, a bullet pierced through her arm. In a matter of just a few seconds, the little boy was brought out of the car and the woman was already in the hands of the masked commandos.

The boy was carried by a huge soldier who immediately headed towards a van.

"Sergeant, here's the boy. Check if he's been injured," the soldier said.

"Yes, Captain. Leave him with me." A woman wearing the same clothes as the other soldiers spoke as she took the boy. However, the moment the young boy and the woman's eyes met, something seemed to have pierced through deep within their hearts.

...

Davi, now called Rin, gazed at the young boy in her arms. The boy was so beautiful and as she stared at those eyes of his, she immediately knew where she had seen these eyes before, causing her heart to flutter like crazy. However, she forced herself to think that maybe, just maybe, it was just a coincidence and they just happened to have the same eye color.

"A-are you alright? Are you hurt somewhere. Let me check your body, okay?" She managed to speak normally, as if she didn't feel the fluttering in her heart. Because of the training she went through all these years, she was able to suppress her emotions easily.

The boy just looked at her. He was a bit shocked with what happened a while ago but as soon as he saw Davi, he suddenly had the urge to hug her, and so he did.

Davi was surprised. The boy wrapped his arms around her as he rested his face in the nook of her neck. Davi's heart skipped a bit and before she knew it, she embraced him back.

Silence enveloped the van as the two embraced each other. Davi's emotions were going wild and she couldn't suppress her feelings anymore. No matter how she denied it, she could just feel that this boy might be the son she left behind.

Her heart was twisting with both pain and happiness and she wanted to cry. Her grip on the boy tightened yet she couldn't speak. She couldn't even begin to describe what she was feeling anymore. All she knew was that she wanted time to stand still so she could stay like this, embracing him for a long, long time.

Meanwhile, Sei and Zaki had just arrived. The Thundras were excited to meet the man behind that perfect strategy they executed years ago.

"Man, I can't believe it. We're finally going to meet that person."

"Well, if that boy wasn't his son, we wouldn't be taking on this kind of mission in the first place."

"Don't say that, idiot. This mission is as important as all the high profile missions we have undertaken. Don't forget what this man would have done if we actually arrived a few minutes later."

"Well, you have a point there. With such a monstrous mind, I bet he could turn the world upside down if he wanted to."

"I heard that only a few people have ever seen this man in person despite being this continent's biggest tyc.o.o.n."

"He's interesting. He hates the media. He likes being isolated."

"Quiet down, he's here."

As soon as the black car's door opened, a tall man with undeniably beautiful eyes and perfect physique stepped out and his dangerous aura could instantly be felt. Even the commandos felt the formidable presence he exuded. He had a presence like a king and for some reason, their instinct was telling them that this man was above all others.

The captain immediately approached the man and they both exchanged a few words before the captain ordered his men.

"Tell the medical sergeant to bring the boy," he said and in no time, a woman carrying the boy in her arms stepped out.

The boy was clinging onto her neck as she walked towards the boy's father.

Her lower face was covered with a white mask and the moment she saw the man standing there, her heart started beating uncontrollably as though it was about to go berserk but none of these emotions showed on her face. Those eyes, those lips, that perfect nose, that sharp gorgeous jaw and those cheeks, were all extremely familiar. In one glance she knew it was him, the man whom she loved more than herself, the man who suffered for years because of her.

She couldn't believe that the first time she finally got to see the face behind the mask would be in this kind of situation. Just as she had imagined, his face was masculine, handsome, mesmerizing, like the face of someone the G.o.ds perfectly crafted with their own hands. He looked way too d.a.m.ned perfect for his own good. His ethereal appearance caused even her, who had already imagined this countless times, to feel charmed and mesmerized to the core.

At that moment, Davi wasn't going to even try meeting his piercing eyes. She stopped a few steps away from him and she started whispering to the child in her arms.

"Your father is here," she said, but suddenly, the boy tightened his grip on her as he shook his head.

"Please, don't go." He said and Davi's heart shattered into pieces. She was already at her limit at trying to suppress herself. She was trying very hard to hide herself and not draw his attention so she could quietly disappear again. But what this boy said was like a wrecking ball that was smas.h.i.+ng her well-built defenses.

Reflexively, Davi tightened her embrace on the child in her arms as she felt a chilling gaze that seemed to be slowly piercing through her soul.
