Chapter 166 - Monster

That night, the broken young Sei was single handedly protected by young Zaki. Their plane engine was shot by the pursuing helicopters, forcing Zaki to leave the plane midair. Under the cover of night, the two of them used a single parachute and landed in a forest escaping the shadows chasing them. As they fell, Zaki saw lights from a remote village somewhere near Country J's border and decided to make their way there.

While Zaki carried Sei on his back, Sei's mind and body were sinking into the darkness. Unable to accept his mother's death, Sei began to unconsciously kill every emotion left in him to continue living.

Sei a.n.a.lyzed that there was already an a.s.sa.s.sin waiting for them at that meeting place that night. n.o.body knew about their location other than his very own father. Hate and anger filled Sei's entire being and he swore to one day destroy his own father. 'He will pay a millionfold for the pain, suffering, and death he inflicted on his mother.'

Days went by and Sei returned to Country H. He learned about the news that he was already one of the world's most wanted criminal. He was called by the media and military as codename 'Monster', causing him to smirk evilly.

Using the abandoned secret base of the fallen Red Rebels in Gyoza, Sei started attacking every media and governments that have his information.

He destroyed every existing information about him, leaving no trace at all. However, what he did just confirmed the existence of the so-called monster hacker in the whole world.

Since then, he knew that until he could prove that he wasn't the one behind what happened to the town of Zemei, he would forever stay in the world of darkness.

Time went by and Sei started building power of his own. His monstrous brain and ability made it easy for him to gain control of a country especially one that was torn heavily by war. For example, Country H was without a leader due to the president's death, and the aid from outside sources who partic.i.p.ated in the war already left.

New rebel groups and organizations from the opposition clamored to gain a piece of power, like vultures circling their wounded prey. The citizens were crying out and putting pressure on the government to end the unrest. That was the time, Sei offered his help to the government. The military chief was one of the government officials meeting with Sei. He was the one who was notified by his team regarding the coded messages of the Red Rebels attacking. The chief realized that 'Monster' and the one who helped them were the same person. And that person was now offering his help once again.

The country was greatly unstable with low resources and allies. Knowing that Monster was being pursued and responsible for the bombing of Zemei, they were wary and fearful of him. What if he was the one who planned to destroy the country? However, in the country's weakest moment what else could they do but wait for annihilation? Sei however laid out a plan to settle the unrest, grow its economy, and restore the country back to its former glory. His charisma and presence were that of a strong king and awed the officials. They ultimately accepted his hand because they knew they were in dire straits.

Thus, since then, Sei was secretly involved in every huge conflict inside Country H as the main head of the county's technical intelligence agency. And like a shadow puppet master, Sei eventually helped the government stabilize the unrest through ma.s.s spying and exploitation of both the government and its civilians to trace the source of the unrest, he became Country H's savior.

He helped the new president to sit in his seat of power and the government vowed to protect him at all cost.

A year went by and Sei became the leader of one of the world's largest secret organizations. He also ended up becoming the son of the Chen family along with Zaki.

The Chen family was one of the richest families in Country H before the war. During the unrest, the only heir Xi Chen disappeared, causing the Chen family decided not to attempt rising back to glory again.

However, Sei who met Xi Chen during their escape and saw how he died told the family about what happened to him when he stumbled upon old Mr. Chen. Grateful for learning what happened to his son, Sei then took Xi's ident.i.ty and became the son of the Chen family. Zaki also ended up being the Chen's adopted son.

So, under Sei's leaders.h.i.+p, the rise of the Chen family started.

Years went by and the Red Empire of Chen corporation quickly rose to its peak, and even spread throughout Asia under the leaders.h.i.+p of a mysterious man who never once appeared in public, named Xi Chen.
