Chapter 165 - I'll Always Be Watching You

As the battle at the capital continued Sei, Zaki, and Princess Fei were heading towards the country's border.

That same moment, the Red Rebels who attacked the capital were caught off guard. It was because the moment they reached the inner city, the military who was supposed to be immobilized due to Sei's attack was perfectly prepared as though they knew they were coming and were waiting for them.

Well, no one among the rebels knew that before Sei shut down the bases, he actually sent several secret coded messages, warning the government of an upcoming attack.

That day was the end of the once fearsome group called Red Rebels. However, what happened to them and the news of Sei's escape immediately made the Blackleaf's leader quake in fear. They realize that there's a certain monster that manipulated the fate of the entire army of Red Rebels. That monster was no other than Sei, the child hacker prodigy that surpa.s.sed any existing renown hackers.

On that same day, in the small remote town of Zemei where Sei lived a year ago there would be an event that would cause ripples across the world. Not many know what happened that day, but those that witnessed it, describe the event as the start of a nightmare. What started with loud sirens going off all around the town were suddenly m.u.f.fled. Cars, buildings, streets and the mountainous landscape was suddenly swallowed by a brilliant flash of light. Then as though the volume had been muted on a stereo was cranked back up, the sound that came back was earth shattering. Pillars of fire, smoke, and dust rose high above the mountains as Zemei was caught by a nuclear weapon. Annihilating the entire town along with half of its population.

Miles away, Sei wasn't aware of what had happened as they focused on their escape. However, a global TV broadcast was released by the government of Country X stating that their secret nuclear weapons facility located in the town of Zemei has been hacked and detonated the weapons. The public was in an extreme uproar and unrest fearing for their safety after the explosion. The news also revealed the hacker behind the attack to everyone's surprise that it was no other than a young twelve-year-old boy by the name of Sei. They distributed his information, saying that he was the notorious cyber-criminal who was responsible for the annihilation of the whole town of Zemei. Telling the world that he was a monster without morals who was capable of destroying the world.

Meanwhile, Sei, along with Zaki, and Princess Fei had infiltrated a small airport near the border. Zaki manage to hijack a private jet, while Sei acquired a phone and asked for a.s.sistance.

Sei hacked his father's phone and sent him a message that they were escaping, and he asked him to meet them on the border of Country J.

However, as soon as they set foot on the ground, the father that they expected waiting for them wasn't there. Instead, Zaki saw the approaching military choppers, causing Sei to grit his teeth in anger as they immediately turned back towards the jet… When out of nowhere, just before they could enter the plane, a loud bang was heard and Sei was stunned to see Fei, his dear mother was shot from behind.

That moment, Sei's world slowed to a halted as he caught his falling mother in his arms, as tears began to fall from his eyes. Sei's throat restricted as he saw blood slowly pooling out from his mother's wound, and he couldn't speak even when his mother told him to leave immediately.

"Son… Please, you should live. Promise me you'll live. I'll always be watching you wherever you go…" she said and before her last breath, she asked Zaki to take him away and protect him.

Realizing the approaching danger of being captured, Zaki then took the Princess in Sei's arm and laid her on the ground while Sei remained kneeling there like a broken s.h.i.+p lost in the mercy of the deepest ocean and all it held within its dark depths.

Flood lights were closing in and the chopper's blades were getting louder as they approached, Zaki s.n.a.t.c.hed the almost lifeless Sei and threw him inside the plane to escape.
