Chapter 31: First Acquaintance With Sam

With full of reluctance, she had a last look at the dress she took off.

She really liked it. When she got rich in the future …

At the thought of this, Ye could not help heaving a sigh.

She felt it meaningless to think of the future now when she couldn't even figure out her father's whereabouts.

When she went out of the fitting room, Mu was no longer in the store.

Ye looked around and asked Sam as she returned the dress to him, “Sam, where is my uncle?”

“Oh, he went out to smoke.”

Ye nodded.

“The dress's fantastic. But it doesn't suit me. Thank you. Bye.”

Before she walked out of the store, she was suddenly stopped.

Turning around, she saw Sam walking towards her with the bagged dress.

“It's my last year's design. I didn't sell it no matter how much people paid for it because I haven't met anyone who looks good in it. I'm just waiting for the person who really goes perfect with this dress. Weiwei, the dress looks so beautiful on you, and it suits you very well. It's better to let you wear it than to hang it in my store. How about me giving you the dress as a present for our first acquaintance?”

Ye looked at Sam, and pondered for a moment.

Instead of taking the dress, she giggled.

“Sam, you're really a bad liar.”

“? Wha … what?” Sam kept acting dumb.

“Do you really think I'm so stupid that I'll believe your story?”

The dress did look great on her. But it absolutely didn't come so far as Sam had described. What was more, it was evident that Sam treasured this dress very much.

“Your eyes were never off the bag as you spoke just now.” Ye said smilingly, “You're actually about to cry for letting go of this treasure of yours.”

Sam was stupefied.

He had thought her as a child and a few words of praise would make her lose her senses and believe whatever she was told.

He didn't expect her keen observation.

But anyway, she also exaggerated.

Sam frowned, “Who says I'm going to cry? I'm just born with this sour face. How could an international fas.h.i.+on designer as me cry over a single dress? Hehe.”

“It's precisely because you are a top fas.h.i.+on designer that you value every design of yours even more. They're just like your own children. Finding the right person to wear them is like finding a husband for your daughter. Of course, you'll be reluctant and nervous.”

Ye said each of her words into Sam's heart.

“You're just so lovely.”

Ye furled her mouth shyly and pushed the bag back in front of Sam.

“Please take it back. I really don't want it.”

Sam hesitated.

“I really don't want to mess with your grumpy uncle.”

Ye couldn't help curling her lips when hearing this.

She just knew it must be him who had made Sam do this! He must have forced Sam to give her the dress for free for fear of getting turned down for a second time if he came to her himself.

His oppression seemed to exist everywhere!

“Just take it easy. I'll talk with my uncle.” Ye turned around, about to leave.

“Wait!”

Sam suddenly chased her up and handed a gold card to her.

“You're so adorable. With this gold card, you can enter my store freely. By the way, don't tell your uncle of this. You can come here anytime and I'll show you around a bit.”

Sam slipped the card to her covertly, amusing Ye very much with his inconsistent behaviors.

Ye took the gold card, and hid it in her pocket and said smilingly, “Ok, no problem. I'll come here to see how you design in the future!”

“Hmm!”

She didn't have many friends, and for a long time since Li Haina betrayed her, she dared not open her heart to anyone.

Today, she happened to know Sam this interesting person, who was comical, hard-mouthed, and though a little stingy. Colorful lights seemed to have started s.h.i.+ning into her overcast life.
