3 Chapter 3: Library

What happened last night . . . was a nightmare turned to reality. Ugh! Imagining myself in that position is so . . . uh, yuck!

After I packed my things and wore my black backpack, I ran towards our school.

I breathed deeply as I stared at the door of the Princ.i.p.al's office.

"There's no turning back," I whispered to myself. That monster deserves to be fired.

I held the doork.n.o.b and opened the door. The Princ.i.p.al greeted me with her smile. She's sitting on her desk formally.

"What is it, Miss Sevilla?" she asked.

I rubbed my hands to keep it from freezing. I cleared my throat before speaking.

Ugh! Come on, Scarlette! You have to do it!

"Um . . . Princ.i.p.al . . . " I met her eyes. "S-sir . . . "

"He was fired."

My eyes widened upon hearing that. "H-how?"

"Your aunt told me to."

What the . . . How could Aunt do that to me? I already told her last night after I got home that I would be the one who will—ugh! Okay. Fine. It's already done anyway.

"She also told me to look after you," she added.

I sighed in relief. "Thanks a lot, Princ.i.p.al."

"No. Thanks to you. Demons inside this university had lessen." And then, she chuckled.

I just smiled in response.

Aunt Cecilia was so mad when I called her. She even shouted that she's going to put that monster behind bars but I stopped her. Funny, wasn't it? But, seriously, it's not. I stopped her because it's only an attempted **** and I didn't want more trouble.

After I ordered my snacks, I went to my usual table and sat.

I just frowned when I saw my food. It's so plenty! But what could I do? I was starving a lot! I didn't get to eat dinner last night and breakfast this morning! Thanks to that monster guy!

By the way, I was glad to know that our new Chemistry teacher is so nice. And I'm more comfortable because she's a woman.

I was about to eat when someone sat in front of me. I mentally rolled my eyes when I saw her smiled ear-to-ear.

Tsk! What now?

"What?" I muttered.

"What happened yesterday?" she asked.

I gave her a confused look. "Huh?"

"Come on!" she slightly tapped the white table. "Did the beautiful man transform to a beast?"

I closed my eyes and sighed. "Nah." Ugh! I need to make an excuse!

The curve on her lips faded. "Why?"

"Because he was not supposed to. He just asked for my aunt's phone number." Uh, it's not a lie, okay? It's the truth!

Remember? You remember, right? Right? Answer me!

"Oh . . . wait! Do you know why he resigned?"

Again, I mentally rolled my eyes! Ugh! Rhode annoys me a lot!

"Nah," I replied shortly.

"I don't like the new Chemistry teacher. She's too strict and hard to understand . . . " Blah. Blah. Blah.

I just looked down at my tray. The view is much better than the annoying girl in front of me.

"I don't know why—"

"Do you have other businesses here? If none, please, go away. I can't enjoy my food when someone's with me. Please?" I gritted my teeth to show her that I was already annoyed.

Yeah. I'm tired of being kind to her.

She raised her eyebrows before saying, "Okay." Then, she walked away.

I sighed in relief. Now, I could eat peacefully.

After my last cla.s.s, I went to the library.

Oh! Maybe, I didn't tell you before. I signed up for being a Library a.s.sistant. Why? Because I was bored even I have a 'stressful life'.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am!" I greeted to the librarian who's sitting on her desk.

She just nodded and said, "Return this books." She pointed her forefinger to the mountain of books on the wooden table beside her.

I smiled genuinely.

I was humming an 'I-don't-know' song while happily returning the hardbound books. It's so wonderful!

But . . . my moment was interrupted by a loud thud. I immediately found where it came from – behind the bookshelf which was placed in front of me.

A male student was picking the fallen hardbound book. I couldn't see his face because I was at his back.

I cleared my throat to catch his attention. He stood up but didn't face me. "Be careful next time, Mister," I told him.

And finally, he faced me. He walked towards my direction while holding the large book.

I couldn't help but to raised my right eyebrow when I saw him smirked. His ash gray eyes stared at mine.

Wait! Those eyes . . . looks familiar.

"Got it, Miss," he whispered as he pa.s.sed beside me.

And his voice . . .
