2 Chapter 2: Mystery Man

I was frowning while staring at my score.

26/50

"Oh . . . not bad." My seatmate on the left smirked.

"Yours?" I tried to make my voice soft and gladly, I made it. Why? Her presence annoys me always!

By the way, her name is Rhode. She's our president in this section. And . . . I hate her a lot because of her boastfulness.

"Fifty. No beads of sweat," she proudly said.

This time, I smiled. "Really, huh? Of course, no beads of sweat for you because you just copied her answers," I told her, referring to the girl at her other side.

In an instant, her face became white. The curve on her lips faded.

"H-how d-did . . . you—"

"Miss Sevilla?" I looked at the man who's standing in front of me.

"Sir?" I met his serious eyes with mine.

"Meet me at lunch time in the faculty room. We have to talk." Then, he walked away.

Talk?! At lunch time?!

"Sad. Looks like you'll see the transformation of the beautiful man to a beast," Rhode whispered to my left ear.

I just swallowed hard.

So one hour from now, I'll deal with a monster.

I knocked three times on the wooden door before entering.

There were no teachers left except the Chemistry teacher. He's sitting on his table while writing something on his notebook.

"What will we talk about, Sir?" When I spoke, he stopped.

He stared at my face for about few seconds before answering. "Random things?" he mocked.

My eyebrows furrowed. "Seriously, Sir? I have so much to do and I only have a little time." Uh, going here was such a waste.

"Just kidding. Okay. Okay. Here's the thing. Do you know Miss Cecilia Sevilla, right?"

I nodded. Of course, I know her because she's my aunt! My aunt who lives in USA!

"Do you have her phone number?"

I gave him a 'suspicious look'. "Why?"

He laughed a bit. "I asked you but you answered me a question." Then, he laughed again.

Really? Funny? What's funny there?

"Why you're asking her number, Sir?"

He cleared his throat. "I need to talk to her." His voice became serious.

"About what?"

"About a very important thing."

"And what is it?"

"Uh . . . " There's a hint of hesitation on his face.

I brought out my phone from the pocket of my black mini skirt. I looked for Aunt's contact number and wrote it on his notebook. Then, I left him without saying a word.

I know what I did, okay? It just showed how disrespectful I am to people who don't value time.

School works didn't fail to give me stress even inside home. This is home, not a school. Where's the justice there?

It's 10:29 PM already and I badly wanted to sleep. But I got loads of works to do.

Three tasks – finished. Two tasks to go.

I was about to start my next work when my phone rang. I picked it up and tapped the 'answer' b.u.t.ton.

My forehead wrinkled when I heard loud music from the other side.

"h.e.l.lo? Who is this?" I asked. Of course, it's from an unknown number.

"Hi, Scarlette~" Weird. It sounded drunk.

"Who is this?" I repeated. "The clock is ticking. Don't waste my time."

"Okay, okay, Miss Sevilla~"

I immediately stood up when I recognized him - it's our Chemistry teacher!

"W-why did you call, Sir?" Ugh! How the h.e.l.l he has my phone number?! I didn't remember that I gave it to him! "and how d-did you get my n-number?"

He chuckled. "Your pretty aunt gave it to me~"

Yuck! I automatically scrunched my nose. Replying by singing? Yuck! It gave me gooseb.u.mps!

"I need you here. Now," he said. Now, I could sense seriousness on his voice.

"And why, Sir?" I asked, irritated. "I got loads of works to—"

"Someone will kill me. Help me. Please."

I looked at my phone with disbelief. A man who's stronger and older than me was asking for help from me? This is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS.

"And do you think, Sir, I can help you?" I couldn't stop myself from clenching my fist.

"You're the only one I can ask for help. Please, Miss Sevilla."

"d.a.m.n it! Where are you?"

"Nightingale Bar." After he said that, he ended the call.

Tsk! I threw my pen on the cream wall. It broke into pieces because of the impact.

I grabbed my black shoulder bag that was placed on my study table and wore my rubber shoes before running outside.

Gladly, I was still wearing my yellow T-s.h.i.+rt and fitted jeans.

That bar is just near that's why I just ran. I took a deep breath before opening the gla.s.s double door, but my hand suspended in the air when someone grabbed my right shoulder and turned me to look at him by force.

"You shouldn't come here. He tricked you," he seriously said. I couldn't see his whole face because the half of it was covered by a black mask.

What? Tricked?

I pushed when I realized that he was too close.

"Who are you, Mister? Do I know you? And who's this man that tricked me?" I could feel my eyes staring at him suspiciously.

He closed his eyes and gently touched his nape. "You're unbelievable," he whispered but I was able to hear it. "Okay. First answer, I'm no one. Second answer, you don't know me but I know you. And last, the guy that called you earlier."

I stared at his ash gray eyes for a moment before I sighed. "Maybe, you are drunk, Mister. You must go home."

The truth was he didn't look drunk . . . but crazy – seriously crazy.

When I finally opened the door and entered, loud music welcomed me and different party lights came into view. The bar was full of crowded people. Maybe, some of here were now drunk.

I tried to find that Chemistry teacher but I couldn't. I even squeezed myself in the crowd.

Until . . . somebody pulled me on the side. I was surprised to see that it was the man I was looking for!

But . . . there's something strange. I mean . . . being drunk is strange but there's more than that.

He held my arms and pinned me on the wall. My eyesight locked on his face.

His heavy breathing . . .

His intense gaze . . .

Biting his lips . . .

My heartbeat became strong and fast. I was nervous . . . I was nervous to know what he would do next.

"W-what are y-you doing, S-sir?" My hands turned cold. I couldn't help but to tremble.

I tried to remove myself from his grip but it's no use. He's too strong.

"Help! Help!" I kept on shouting that word until I was tired. No one could hear me. We were too far from the crowd.

This man in front of me smirked and leaned closer. "No one could hear your shout because they love the loud music. Don't waste your strength, Miss Sevilla. You'll use it later," he whispered.

Tears fell from my eyes when he bit my right earlobe.

"You don't deserve to be a teacher. You, jerk!"

He chuckled. "Oh come on, Scarlette. You will absolutely love it."

Before his lips could touch mine, someone who has a big heart pushed him from the side.

Out of panic, I grabbed that chance to ran away as fast as I could.
