The little girl was shocked when she saw the beast suddenly attack. She stared at the bloodied tree and her face paled.

The beast roared to the skies. Whatever was trying to come through the dimensional rift sensed it and retreated for a while.

The little girl came forward and patted the belly of the beast in an attempt to appease it, but it was anxiously scanning its surroundings. It took the small girl and held her close to its belly in an attempt to protect her.

The Seven Deadly Sins were nervously holding their breath as well.

“Lord Vulture… Changeleon has died.”

“Cheh. What a useless guy. He even boasted to me how even infrared cameras failed to find him. To think that he would die before he even got any useful info.”

The other cultists said nothing. They had all felt the strength of the beast just now. As mutants that had fused with the genes of beasts, they naturally felt that it was at least a tier seven beast. It even felt slightly stronger than Lord Vulture.

To think that a single attack from its tail was enough to kill the tier five changeleon.

“Lord Vulture, what should we do?”

“Let’s review the footage he took before he died.” Lord Vulture was disappointed. The other cultists played the video. It depicted more or less the same scene, but they were able to capture the face of the little girl beside the beast.

“Lord Vulture… is she from the Shura Tribe?” One of the cultists was shocked.

“Shura Tribe?”

Not everyone knew about the Shura Tribe, as their existence was only known to a select few. Since the cultist that spoke up was part of the information division, he naturally knew a little.

Lord Vulture motioned for him to continue.

“The Shura Tribe are a race of aliens that’s currently waging war against humanity. Both Azura and the Federation are holding them back. I don’t know a lot, but what I do know is that they’re all extremely powerful. Naturally, their genes are also very powerful. If I’m not mistaken, we have two of them in our cult!”

“Shura Tribe… sounds familiar.”

“Yes! I know of them! It’s the two-man team of the Shura Tribe!” He admired them a lot. Lord Vulture didn’t look interested, as he already knew of their existence.

“Shura is the name given to them by Azura and the Federation. We don’t know what species they are, nor do we know their language. But what we do know is that they fight like monsters on the battlefield. Not only are they aggressive, but they’re also strong. Their technology is also extremely advanced, even more than both Azura and Earth combined. I’m not sure what’s happening outside right now, but I do know that the Shura Tribe is extremely important to us.”

Lord Vulture nodded. The reason he had come there was to investigate the dimensional rift and see if they could gain something from it. To think that he would encounter someone from the Shura Tribe. He knew that the cult had two of them, and had even seen them, but he didn’t have the qualifications to acquire the genes from the Shura. But if he could capture one now, that meant that he would have a chance to obtain their genes. He would be one step closer to tier seven!

He was drooling in anticipation. “You lot! I just remembered. Our friends from the Federation should be nearby, go find them!”

Four of the cultists transformed and each of them was tier five and above. Two of them were hound-type beasts, while the other two transformed into a wolf-type and cat-type beast respectively.

Since there wasn’t a single living animal in the area, it was easy for them to pick up on the scent of Gu Kun and the rest. In just a short amount of time, they had already pinpointed the location of their prey and all of them rushed forward.

Gu Kun suddenly heard the Frost Wolf howling and warning them. He had enough time to shout out a warning before the Frost Wolf was killed by one of the mutants. It was only a tier three beast, how could it withstand the attack from a tier five mutant?

“Prepare for battle!” 

Chu Long and Gu Kun unsheathed their weapons and attacked. Yu Qian and Long Xiaoqi recovered and grabbed their weapons, too. Long Xiaoqi smacked the device on her waist and shot dozens of silver needles toward the mutants.

Yu Qian’s spiritual armor covered her like mercury as she shot out six flying knives.

The four of them clashed head-on.

Two of the mutants were shot by Long Xiaoqi’s needles and poisoned. While it wasn’t lethal, their movement grew sluggish. Against the onslaught of Yu Qian’s flying knives, the two of them were pushed back.

Gu Kun was fighting on equal ground with another of the mutants, but Chu Long was slowly being pushed back. He was somehow holding on, though. Even though he was only tier four, nine-star, his rich battle experience and strong body allowed him to hold out against the attacks.

Just as their fight was about to turn into one of attrition, the mutants sensed something and chuckled. All of them turned and left.

Gu Kun saw what was happening and was confused. But the sound of snapping trees and tearing wind immediately alerted him of the imminent danger. “DODGE!”

A loud crashing sound was heard as a giant tail fell from the sky and landed in front of them.  The shockwave sent all of them flying. Long Xiaoqi landed hard and fell unconscious. 

Yu Qian, Chu Long, and Gu Kun had faster reactions and managed to mitigate the shockwave. Still, they were somewhat disoriented by that attack.

“Long Xiaoqi! Long Xiaoqi!” Chu Long swiftly arrived by her side.

Long Xiaoqi was bleeding slightly from her mouth and her face was pale.

Yu Qian pushed Chu Long away and inspected Long Xiaoqi. “She’s fine! She’s just unconscious. We need to leave, now!”

But before they could even move, the giant beast had appeared near them. Its giant eyes were trained on them and even more suffocating. They felt a sense of dread that they’d never felt before.

Suddenly, the sound of a girl crying was heard behind him. It was barely audible, but they heard it loud and clear. The beast’s eyes turned red in anger. The oppressive aura increased and nobody could breathe. How was this beast so scary?

The beast turned around. Gu Kun and the rest immediately seized the chance and picked up Long Xiaoqi before running away.

The beast ignored them. The only thing that mattered to it was the four shadows making their way toward the little girl. It howled in rage, its roar echoing across the empty forest. Xiang Ning was seven kilometers away when he heard it.

“Shit! They’re in trouble!” He instinctively knew how strong the beast was.
