He wanted to find one to experiment on if he had the chance. He was now interested in research, after having spent so much time with Dong Qianyi and Chen Tianhua. But his area of interest was slightly eccentric.

Xiang Ning thought that it would take more than ten minutes to kill the beast, but who knew the vulture mutant would voluntarily enter its mouth? 

The surviving members of the cult that had been hiding near some rubble were confused as well.

Even after it had been buried by a collapsing building, not a single wound was found on its body. The hide and scales of a Sawtooth were legendary!

Xiang Ning scratched his chin. Aren’t there a lot of products made from the hide of crocodile-type beasts? Look at the size of this beast! It’s even the alpha of this area, I can fetch quite a fortune from its hide.

He suddenly saw that the vulture mutant was holding an orb in his hands. It was a beast core! Xiang Ning was contemplating stealing it when he saw the mutant open his mouth. Xiang Ning had once heard of someone swallowing an ostrich egg whole, but had always thought of it as a myth. Today, he learned that it was in fact plausible because he saw the beast core being swallowed whole. Xiang Ning clearly saw it going down the mutant’s throat. The mutant suddenly locked gazes with Xiang Ning again as he rubbed his palms together, his ten-centimeter-long claws bloody and glistening. 

Xiang Ning chuckled. He was worried that the mutant might not understand his language, so he gave it a middle finger instead. It was sign language that was spoken internationally!

Looking at the Fury Points he had just earned, Xiang Ning knew that his location had been exposed. He immediately activated Disguise and ran out of the building with Shadowmist Ghost Step. He had escaped not a moment too soon, as the mutant crashed into the building in the next instant.

He had crashed through the wall like a bull. He saw that Xiang Ning wasn’t there and thought that his target had gone into hiding. The mutant launched an indiscriminate all-out attack as he tried smoking out Xiang Ning. But unbeknownst to him, the boy was already approaching the dead Sawtooth.

Xiang Ning had set his eyes on the beast’s hide and was sure it would sell for quite a lot. While he didn’t urgently need money, it would never hurt to earn more. Maybe one day he could use the money he earned here to live a comfortable life with his sister after he retired.

As for the other beasts, all of them had been scared away after the Sawtooth was killed.

Xiang Ning carefully flayed the best parts of the beast. He wanted to take it all, but most of it was too damaged. Then he saw that the mutant was still hell-bent on destroying the house. He thought about it and took out the Devourer, stabbed it into the Sawtooth, and let it start feasting.

It felt good to take rewards without putting in any effort.
