253 Challenge Accepted

Alex's face changed, as he was unwilling to provoke either the Doomsday Combat Unit or the Watt Combat Unit. However, he did raise an objection...

"You're breaking the rules!" Alex's face was ferocious as he spat out the words.

"Breaking the rules? Are you so shameless that you still have the gall to talk about us in such a way?" Audrey sneered at him.

Steve waved his hand and said, "I'll accept your kindness in my heart. However, I accepted his challenge not only to protect the recruits, but also to make the Doomsday Combat Unit pay the price!"

At this point, Steve's eyes were cold. Since Alex had tipped the scales, Steve would never let go of them so easily!

"Hahaha, you've all heard that he's determined to accept the challenge!" Alex couldn't help but laugh, as he was proud of himself for pus.h.i.+ng Steve to this point.

He clearly did not take Steve's anger or threat about his wanting them to pay seriously. As for the others, some people thought that Steve was truly crazy. After all, despite Steve's outstanding performance, and even his defeat of Lawrence, Alex's strength far surpa.s.sed Lawrence's, so he was truly a threat to Steve!

A qualitative leap would take place when the basic cell value exceeded 400 points. Thus, keeping this in mind, the strength gap between the two was vast!

According to Steve's last performance, his basic cell value was above 380 points. However, he had recently remained on the eighth level of the Original Gravity Tower, which showed that his strength had not improved at all. As such, there seemed to be no hope of his gaining victory in a fight with Alex, who had a far higher basic cell value.

"Don't get too happy too soon." Steve looked at them teasingly. "Our bet is 10,000 contribution points. So, could you all take that out? If you lose, you'll have to pay 10,000 contribution points too..."

"Don't worry about that! We can still afford 10,000 contribution points." As Alex was greedy beyond measure, he wouldn't dare give up now. After all, in his viewpoint, the 10,000 contribution points were already in his wallet!

Lest Steve regret it and change his mind, Alex rushed to complete the challenge contract. This way, the funds would be locked in as long as they could gather them before the challenge began.

Meanwhile, the others just shook their heads and thought Steve was being very foolish. In their minds, it was just like giving 10,000 contribution points to Alex for free, as they were sure that Steve did not have any hopes of winning this challenge!

With the challenge contract in hand, Alex left excitedly. As she watched him leave, Audrey couldn't help but sigh. "Didn't you just give them contribution points for free by doing this?"

"Are my contribution points so easy to earn?" Steve smiled calmly, then changed the subject. "I'm collecting detailed maps of the Magical Beast Mountains. Are the Watt Battle Team's maps for sale?"

"It's just a map, so I don't see why I couldn't sell it to you," Audrey said, while she took out one of their maps for Steve.

As the Watt Battle Team collected more maps that were more detailed than the others, Steve was excited to receive it. After receiving the map, Steve sorted out all of the maps that he had collected so far. Now that he had this newest map, he had all the information regarding forbidden zones, evolutionary magical beast areas, and original level magical beast areas marked out clearly before him!

After studying it all for just a brief moment more, Steve immediately set off for his mission.

...

Meanwhile, Alex had returned to the Death Combat Unit to report on the challenge with Steve.

"Hahahaha! You did a very good job!" Hayden Slater, the captain of the Death Combat Unit, clapped Alex on the shoulder with excitement. After all, with 10,000 contribution points, they would earn more money than they did blackmailing recruits!

"Captain, will the blackmailing of recruits be canceled now?" Alex asked.

Hayden grinned coldly. "Blackmailing recruits, although we don't earn that much with it, is still worth a couple thousand contribution points, so how can we let them go to waste? Besides, you are the one who agreed to the challenge.. Our combat unit did not agree to the conditions!"

After hearing this, the rest of the Death Combat Unit understood his sinister meaning loud and clear! Thousands of contribution points was also a large number, and naturally, the Death Combat Unit would not give those up so easily. They could not miss out on accepting the challenge and Steve's 10,000 contribution points, but the plan of extorting recruits could not be abandoned.
