The contents on each map, whether it belonged to an individual or a combat unit, were all different. The reason for this was that each of them covered different areas of the Magical Beast Mountains. As Steve did not lack contribution points or money, he bought several of the maps and combined them the information within them to make his very own detailed map.

"Steve? Are you Steve?" Just then, a strange voice could be heard from his side.

Steve looked over and saw a young man with slightly curly green hair approaching him with a smile. Steve was sure he did not know the man.

"h.e.l.lo, my name is Alex Wilson," Alex introduced himself.

Although Steve did not know him, he smiled and returned his greeting politely.

"Hahaha, actually I've always been very keen to meet you. It's rumored that you are the strongest recruit in history and even defeated Lawrence. So, I want to compete with you. I wonder if you are willing to accept my challenge?" Alex spoke with a laugh.

Steve frowned. As he was eager to complete the mandatory mission, he was in no mood to accept any challenges from pipsqueaks!

"Steve, don't promise him anything." Just then, a familiar female voice could be heard. It belonged to Audrey, who had just happened to come by and overhear their conversation.

She looked at Alex with an angry face and asked, "Alex, why is your Death Combat Unit so shameless, always challenging recruits and conning them out of their contribution points? If you want a challenge, let me challenge you!"

Many people nearby were attracted to this intense scene, each commenting upon it loudly...

"Alex, it's them again!"

"Da*n the Death Combat Unit! They have been cheating people out of their contribution points for the longest time! I was once even blackmailed by them!"

"It looks like they're trying to con Steve now..."

"Steve has fallen from being the top among the recruits. So, it's only normal that he would become their target..."

Hearing these comments, Steve suddenly understood what was going on. He had defeated Lawrence some time ago and deterred many veterans. These days, however, his performance had been lackl.u.s.ter, so he naturally had become a target for bullies.

Moreover, Steve, after successfully challenged the eighth level of the Original Gravity Tower in a single attempt, had earned a lot of contribution points. This further placed a target on his back!

"Miss Audrey, why does it matter to you that I challenged Steve? His ability to defeat Lawrence shows that he has great strength. Maybe he can defeat me too?" Alex laughed at how upset she was clearly getting.

Audrey then looked at Steve and said, "Steve, don't trust him. These people often bully recruits and cheat them out of their contribution points. Alex's basic cell value has already exceeded 400 points. These people are despicable and shameless. When people refuse to take up their challenges, they will even use insidious means to make them agree to fighting them. But, you can rest a.s.sured that our Watt Battle Team will protect you!"

"Steve is officially protected by our Watt Battle Team. Does your Death Combat Unit wish to challenge us?" Audrey spun around to look at Alex with defiant eyes.

Alex did not expect the Watt Battle Team to value Steve so much. Losing his target made him very unhappy.

But, Alex did not want to give up, so he laughed and said, "Ok, since your Watt Battle Team wants to protect Steve, I won't challenge him for the moment. But, when I challenge others, I hope you won't meddle."

Alex then looked at Steve and joked, "I heard that there are several female recruits in the army who are very strong. I think their names are Vivien, Lucy, and Sofia!"

Hearing this, Steve asked in a cold voice, "What do you mean by that?" Alex's words were clearly threatening Steve.

"Hahaha, since I can't challenge you, am I not allowed to challenge others? I've also heard that these women are out on their missions. Such ladies would be the most p.r.o.ne to accidents while carrying out their missions, don't you think? I would hate for something to happen to them en route..." Alex sneered.

Steve was so angry! He would not have expected Alex to stoop so low as to threaten his women!
