"I think these five battles must be fought!" Steve insisted.

"How should we fight them? Can you beat them?" Stuart sneered. "Even the weakest among them are already original beings!"

The top ten were silent. They also felt some doubt, even though their levels of cell activation had already exceeded 80%, especially Stuart's, Sofia's, and the others', which had already exceeded 90%.

Adding to their doubts was the fact that the veterans had experienced blood-soaked battlefields, which only served to make them far better than them in terms of battle experience. This circ.u.mstance alone made at least half of the recruits choose not to accept the challenge.

"Naturally, we won't be able to win," Andrew said straightforwardly.

"Yeah, we can't even defeat 100 of them. What's the difference if they had 500 more? We'll still be beaten regardless!" Steve laughed and said. "Why not just take a gamble? If we win and the number of people gets reduced, maybe we'll have a chance to defeat them. If we lose, at least we would have tried."

This basic logic stunned many of the recruits instantly. After hearing his words, Alan nodded, then said, "I think what Steve has just said is reasonable!"

"I also agree with Steve's decision!"

"Yes! Why not accept their challenges?"

"I agree!"

"I agree, too!"

After a while, most of the recruits had agreed with Steve's a.s.sertion. In fact, 90% were now behind him.

Steve became revered as the chosen leader by the vast majority of people. Upon seeing this, Stuart's face became stormy, his eyes full of jealousy.

Originally, he was the leader of the recruits. Now, Steve had robbed him of his position!

"Okay, let us vote! Those who agree to accept the challenge, say yes! Those who do not agree, say no." Steve turned on the smart bracelet and sent an email to everyone to use for a secret e-vote.

The recruits opened their mail and made their decisions. After all, these five battles concerned all of the recruits, so the decision could not just be decided by Steve and the other nine contenders alone. Although they were the representatives of many of the recruits now, they still felt obligated to solicit everyone's opinions.

"A total of 4,921 yes votes, and a total of 79 no votes. Hence, we shall agree to accept the challenge!" Steve announced.

The 79 people who voted no could only accept the results. After all, this was a majority rule.

"Who should we send to fight?" asked Andrew. Since they'd already decided to accept the challenge, the next thing the recruits had to decide was who to send to fight.

"Let's not rush into a decision yet. Since we've accepted the challenge, we should make the rules clear for everyone first." Steve, serving as the representative chosen by the people, naturally wanted to gain the best outcome for everyone.

He walked out and shouted to Sergeant Connell, who was in the air, "Sergeant Connell, we accept the challenge. However, some rules must be clarified first."

"Haha, you dare to accept the challenge! You're brave!" Sergeant Connell said, while laughing. "Naturally, there will be a complete set of rules."

He then commenced to explain the rules. "Don't worry you guys, the veterans just want to beat you up, so they won't cross the line! The challenge rules are simple. You send five people out to fight. Thermal weapons and weapons of ma.s.s destruction are not allowed.Only cold weapons and original-level combat techniques can be used. Victory is determined when one of you knocks down your opponent or when your opponent concedes defeat."
