"I'm home!" I shouted. "And Carolinia is here too."

"Ah welcome back. Carolinia, will you be joining us for dinner?"

Mom stepped out of the kitchen with an ap.r.o.n and oven mitts on. She must've just put something in the oven.

"If you don't mind, I would love to," Carolinia said.

"Great." Mom stated happily.

I was busy taking my shoes off by the door and trying not to drop Rain, when I noticed Mom was looking at my hands.

"Celeste?"

"Y-yes Mom?" I jumped.

"What are you holding in your hands?" Mom said curiously.

I quickly hid Rain behind my back, who seemed to be trying out the doll idea. I was thinking of what to say when...

Beep beep beep

"Ah that's the oven!" Mom exclaimed. "Why don't you girls go hang out upstairs? Dinner will be ready soon."

And with that, Mom went into the kitchen to check on the food. Carolinia and I both made our way upstairs into my room.
