Chapter 9 Part 1 – Mom is coming!

On Wednesday morning, Chen Minhao woke up unusually early.

Yesterday, Kang Hui said that she would give him ten thousand yuan in advance, and would deduct the money from his future earnings.

There was no bank along the way to the company, thus, Chen Minhao could only get up early this morning so he could take a detour to withdraw the cash.

After he withdraw the cash out from the ATM machine, Chen Minhao could smell the faint scent of ink as he counts the cash.

That is the smell of money.

Chen Minhao's att.i.tude towards money can be summarized in a sentence: “When there's plenty of cash, his actions will follows his heart.”

In layman terms, it means that he will do whatever he wants if he's rich.

On the way to the company on a cab, his phone suddenly rang and an incoming call from “Mother-empress” was displayed as the caller ID.

With the pa.s.sage of time, Chen Minhao had grown increasingly accepting of the fact that he had transmigrated and the interpersonal relations.h.i.+ps that the original host had. Since there was no way back to his world, why not live this life to the fullest?

With that in mind, he picked up the call without hesitation.

Before Chen Minhao could speak, he heard the voice in the call asked, “Minmin, can you guess where Mom is at right now?”

Chen Minhao had a bad feeling. “Don't tell me you are at Shanghai right now.”

“You're so clever Minmin. Mom is at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station right now. You can do your things first though. Mom just wanted to let you know that I've reached Shanghai. Where are you right now? Mom will come visit you later.”

Women from Subei region are a cheerful and optimistic bunch. However, her mom's education level is not very high. The furthest city she had ever been to was Beijing, and she traveled with Chen Minhao's father for that trip. Therefore, he was very worried that mishap would happen because of the dazzling scenery at the exit of Hongqiao railway station in Shanghai and his mom's relatively unreliable character.

Chen Minhao decided that he would pick her up.

He instructed the cab driver. “Please do a u-turn and go to Shanghai Hongqiao railway station.”

After using methods such as “WeChat share location function,” “taking photos of the current scenery,” and “asking pa.s.sersby where she was currently,” Chen Minhao finally found his mother who got lost whilst trying to buy breakfast.

He was glad that he came to pick her up as otherwise, judging from the current situation his mom was in, if he leave it to her to find him on her own, there was absolutely no way she could find him by herself.

After getting on a cab, he briefly talked about his current situation to his mom like entering the trio group, going to join Kiwi's 《Produce 101》, going to record demo with Wu Hongrong, and etc.

Chen Minhao believed that all parents have a wish of “hoping that their children will achieve success in life.” He believed that everything that children receive all come from their parents. Since he had occupied their son's body and ident.i.ty, he felt that it was natural that he repays the original host's parents on his behalf.
