Saleen already dug more than twenty meters deep. He had almost dug through the wall completely. He already stopped and released his witcher spider. It was drilling through the one meter wide cave and caused a lot of noise.

The robbers behind the wall immediately heard the noise and the experienced senior soldiers realized that the people outside were almost breaking through the wall. They were suddenly panicking.

Bifano could have dug a hole and snuck people in through the hole if he wanted. He had never expected that the morale of pink army was extremely low and the core members were having an internal fight. If he knew, he would not have pulled any tricks. After losing the double faced strong calvary, the leader of the pink army’s position was at risk. With a large army bearing down upon the border, the situation was already chaotic before the enemy entered the temple.

Saleen could not care less as he was only in charge of making the hole. The wall was almost broken through. If the people from inside were to dash out, it would be none of his business. He would only need to return later to cut the two mile long walls on the both sides of the gate and keep them into his dimension stone.

Saleen had not considered getting rid of Bifano in the temple. His thought was simple; he wanted to take care of the matters regarding the temple first then deal with the other matters later. After that, he had to make a trip to Holy Rock City. Bifano could enter and exit the temple whenever he wished. Unless Bifano was harmful to him that was. If he was he could wait until his twenty-four lightning dragons evolved into flying dragons then he would return again. By then, even if Bifano had a sorcerer, he would not be afraid.

If he evolved lightning dragons that could fly, they would not be restrained by the environment anymore. It did not matter whether they were in water or not. By then, it would be as though he had twenty-four grade-9 magic beasts as his hatchet men and every single one of these grade-9 magic beasts could release thunder and lightning. Even fighting against an oracle, they might not lose.

Within ten minutes time, there were noises coming out from behind the gate. A small gate appeared on the big gate and there was a chain of fireb.a.l.l.s that were shot from behind the small gate.

The heavy infantrymen that were guarding by the side of the gate were wearing their armor and were holding their magic heavy s.h.i.+elds while they stood there to block.

The fireb.a.l.l.s knocked into the magic heavy s.h.i.+elds and ignited a heavy explosion with flame flying all over. A few heavy infantrymen were sent flying by the Fireball spell, but they only experienced minor injuries. The magic s.h.i.+elds were melted and dented, but they were not burned through.

Bifano spent a lot of money on his heavy infantrymen’s equipment. Unless it was a genuine grade-5 grand mage that released the grade-4 Fireball spell, a low level magic would be insufficient to burn through the heavy infantrymen’s magic s.h.i.+elds.

Saleen saw and he was thrilled. The magic s.h.i.+elds could be used like that too! It would be much easier if he were to cut metalized steel rock to make them into s.h.i.+eld plates, the defence power would be two levels higher than the equipment that Bifano’s soldiers had.

It was very suspicious that Bifano promised to let him take the materials of the two walls. He had mages under him too and he naturally knew that it would be useful material to make into magic equipment. Bifano agreed without hesitation and there was definitely something fishy about it.

Saleen was a mage that went through life and death situations and he was not dense. It was impossible that he could not guess what Bifano was thinking in his mind.

The small gate was also about four meters high. It was referred to as a small gate due to comparison with the twenty meter high big gate of the temple. Right after the mages inside released dozens of spells, there were calvarymen das.h.i.+ng out from inside. Awaiting them was cl.u.s.ters of crossbows.

Crossbows were considered as expendable. The colleagues that had arrows shot through their armor were considered useless. It would be much cheaper than hiring a mage. Hundred of arrows flew out and the first batch of cavalrymen were all shot down.

The small gate grew wider and there were infantrymen behind them. The infantrymen carried large s.h.i.+elds. Unless it was crossbow that was medium sized or above, it would be hard to penetrate the s.h.i.+elds.

Saleen looked closely at the fight and realized that Bifano’s regular army was much stronger than the pink army. Firstly, there was difference in level of soldiers. Although the pink army was strong among the robbers, the soldiers were normal low level swordsmen, hardly any swordmasters. Bifana’s army was much more impressive. They had more high level swordsman and beginner swordmasters were common too. To meet force to force, the result was that Bifano’s heavy infantrymen pushed through into the small gate.

The small gate the became a big gate. The width was bigger than six meters. There were war puppets behind it that were pus.h.i.+ng two the large scale magic machines that Lex made through the gate.

There was a sudden change in attack and defence. Flame bees and magic trebuchet started shooting right after they entered. There was a sea of fire in the plaza behind the gate.

Bifano’s soldiers were extremely disciplined. During the process when the heavy infantrymen pushed in, the crossbowmen followed closely behind to counterattack the enemy’s archers and mages for the heavy infantrymen. The single p.a.w.n crossbow would not be able to hurt the mages, but it could break the mage’s rhythm of casting magic. The process of counterattack was natural and smooth as though it was rehea.r.s.ed a thousand times.

Saleen’s two magic chariots did not join the battle. Bifano’s mages and the mages in the temple were equally matched so it would depend on the quality of their soldiers.

Saleen originally thought the battle would go on for a very long time as the people in the temple were more in number than Bifano’s soldiers after all. Before half an hour’s time, the pink army’s counter attack had collapsed.

Saleen was shocked. He did not know that it was because the higher ups within the pink army were already fighting internally. The marquis’s few wives and children were fighting against each other. The legendary harmonious family was broken under pressure by the outsiders.

There were twenty-four halls in the temple and Bifano’s soldiers took one down after another. After the strong resistance in the first halls, it got easier and easier.

Just when Bifano was smug with success, a green shadow flew past him at incredible speed. The green figure broke through the gaps among Bifano’s soldiers and when the soldiers swung their weapon, no one managed to hit the green figure.

Saleen saw clearly that the green figure was a female mage and she looked beautiful. He shouted, “Jola!”

The female mage was injured, her face was full of anger and hopelessness. If it was not for those d.a.m.n women’s internal dissension, the counterattack at the big gate would not be broken up by the enemy so quickly. Everything was in a complete chaos. The dream, the family; those were all vanis.h.i.+ng with the disappearance of the marquis. Those years of maintaining the pink army was just an illusion. He left and took everything away.

The female mage’s eyes welled up with tears. She was wearing a green bracelet on her hand that was giving out a gentle light that she was engulfed within. Within the green light, her speed was faster than any accelerating magic, even faster than a grade-6 mage flying speed. The equipment that the marquis left was all very powerful.

Jola chased after her on his horse. The green figure was getting further and further away, but Bain did not intend to help. Saleen did not want to let this woman run loose. The equipment this woman carried was definitely related to the marquis.

Jola saw that his pure blooded warhorse could not catch up to the female mage. He bent down to take a long crossbow and he took five feather arrows from the back of a swordmaster. His silver sword aura penetrated into the feather arrows and the carving at end of the arrow turned into dust.

Jola did not need the tail feathers to balance the arrow. The silver sword aura ran through the feather arrow and long crossbow, and formed a huge loop. A strong air explosive sounded and the five feather arrows flew out simultaneously.

Jola loved to mix around with women, but ever since he followed Saleen, every beautiful women that he came across could not be touched. Although the female mage’s age was older, her appearance could be considered outstanding. He could not bear killing her directly. One of the five leather arrows flew faster than the others and it circled back to fly towards the female mage.

The female mage was suddenly obstructed. As she was severely injured she relied on the power of the bracelet entirely to defend herself. She would not even dare to block the arrow containing the sword aura even during her peak power. She stopped and the feather arrow fell right in front of her perpendicularly. The four other feather arrows arrived then and glided over her four limbs closely. The sword aura surged and shook her bones weak and her muscles numb. She fell onto the ground then.

Jola chased on his horse and bent down to grab the female mage’s belt and pull her up. The female mage bet on her life to move her magic chords, but Jola’s sword aura seeped into her body and into her brain directly.

The female mage suddenly felt like she was flying towards heaven like an immortal. She could not even feel her injuries anymore. Her whole body grew weaker and she lost her power to release any mental attack, let alone move her magic chords.

“Sword…” The female mage started to shout hoa.r.s.ely, but could not struggle anymore. Jola carried her back to Saleen’s magic chariot and left her right outside the carriage. He said, “Master, I caught her.”

Jola’s chain of action could not be hidden from the mages in the magic chariots. Lex was deep in thoughts while the two female mages were looking at Saleen enviously.

Jola caught her beautifully. Forget about the five arrows, the last trick that he used to bring the female mage under control was the legendary Sword Aura Sealing Spell.

The Sword Aura Sealing Spell referred to when a swordmaster used their sword aura in vitro to seal the mental region in the mage’s mind. That way the mage could not move their magic chords and would lose their fighting power entirely. The skill was a signature of a Gold Grand Swordmaster. A Silver Grand Swordmaster theoretically could cast it too, but it would require pointers from a Gold Grand Swordmaster. It would not be a Sealing spell, but murder otherwise.

Not only could such skill be used on humans, magic beasts could also be controlled by the Sword Aura Sealing Spell. Although Jola was not a Gold Grand Swordmaster, he must have inherited something left behind by one. He would not be able to control a gray robed mage otherwise. With inheritance from a Gold Grand Swordmaster, Jola could definitely become a Gold Grand Swordmaster.

Having a Gold Grand Swordmaster as follower, was every mages’ dream.

Jola’s trick was beautifully pulled. The two female mages even developed a different kind of thought about him. It would be difficult for a female mage to marry someone, unless there was a male mage that would not risk his life for magic that was willing to marry them. A commoner would only revere a mage and how would they be courageous enough to marry one as their wife otherwise?

Narnia had liked Saleen because Saleen had two beautiful ladies by his side so he did not look like one that would contribute all his life to magic. In the end, Narnia realized that Lex also had a feelings for Saleen so she had to give up.

A Gold Grand Swordmaster’s life was very long and they could fly as well. They were not much different than a sorcerer. It would be great too to marry a Gold Grand Swordmaster! In the Qin Empire, there were at least a few hundred female mages that wanted to marry to Safilos.
