From what I can tell, Drake is a less than average youth. He has never been bullied, and he doesn't have any financial troubles, but he performs at the bare minimum in everything he does. In both sports and school, he only does enough to make everyone not bother him. It's not that he's inherently stupid or bad at sports and school, he just doesn't see the point in trying. He never sees the point in trying... He says that it's because he knows even if he tried, he wouldn't be the best and therefore shouldn't try at all. Personally, I think that type of thinking is stupid. I mean seriously, even if you won't be the best, isn't being something other than the worst or the average better than nothing at all! Well, evidently not in the eyes of Drake 'f.u.c.king' Aurum!

That is beside the point, I am getting off tangent. The reason I am telling you all of this is because I am the current A.I. for the System. Now "What is the system?" you might ask yourself. Let me tell you what the system is since you probably don't know.

The system, short for The Anime Worlds System, or AWS is a near-omnipotent creation that actively seeks individuals from Earth, any version of Earth, to give them the chance to live in an entertainment paradise. It's kind of like the OASIS from Ready Player One, the player being able to go to any fictional world and do anything. The System, however, focuses on eastern forms of entertainment instead of western entertainment. This means it has a variety of different anime, manga, light novels, web novels, and other things in its libraries. Its job is to make sure that every qualified individual can experience excitement and happiness by living alongside their favorite characters. The Oracle created it, and he designed it with the intent of a perfect paradise for escapists, people who consume media or entertainment to escape from their life, like himself.

Since I am the A.I. for the System, it's my job to ensure that it performs all its functions correctly, meaning that I am its maintenance crew and manager... Unfortunately, the Oracle tasked me with the job of making Drake Aurum the first host for the system. The kid has no ambition! How is he supposed to complete tasks and eventually inherit the system if he doesn't want to do anything! My life is already hard and I have only activated... Well, whatever. I will do my best! I will make the Oracle proud!

Now I just have to approach my future Host. Luckily for me, he is about to go to sleep. That means that I can talk to him in his dreams instead of when he is awake. People are much easier to communicate with when asleep. At least, that is what my programing says.

I crept into my bed while wondering what is wrong. I have a very off feeling. Like I'm being watched but there's no one there. I think I spent too much time watching anime last night, but I needed to finish One Punch Man season 2; Any sleep missed was totally worth it. Seriously though, I need to sleep. I haven't slept for about 48 hours and it is taking its toll on my body. I wonder what I will see in my dreams tonight. Sometimes I dream about the cute girls in my life, but usually, I dream about other people's lives... I think they have it better than me, at least as far as being able to enjoy their life. Sometimes I wish that I could reincarnate into another life or even die and transported into another world, but that's just me fantasizing. I mean, who actually thinks those kinds of thing will happen to them? It's literally something straight out of a novel or manga.

The moon is full, and the stars in the sky are especially bright tonight. I wonder if that means something. No, that's just more wishful thinking. Well, it's time I go to sleep.

As I enter my dream, I see the faint silhouette of a person shrouded in a bright light. The person is trying to talk to me? I can't tell just yet, everything is weirdly hazy. As my dream started to come into focus, I hear a voice... I think it sounds like a girl. Weird. Why is she so faint, yet so bright? Why does her voice sound so muddled? I can't understand what she is saying to me but her voice sounds nice and calming, almost angelic. Why did I think that though... Maybe if I focus harder on her I will see or understand her better? Let's try it.

I try my hardest to focus on the silhouette and her voice. It finally started to become clearer in my head.

"Hey! Can you hear me? I am trying to explain something you, you dolt! Why did I have to get such a worthless host... " she spoke angrily at me, almost shouting, but her voice was beautiful despite the anger it contained

Strange... Who is she? I don't think I've ever had a dream with someone I have never heard of before. I find this whole situation interesting. Much more interesting than anything else I have recently experienced.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" I asked, not entirely sure if she could even answer something like that since this is my dream, not reality.

"Finally! You can hear me right? I am Ai-chan and I will be your closest friend and partner for the foreseeable future. I will be with you for a long time, so you'd better get used to it quickly. As for why I am here, I am here to introduce you to the System. The Anime Worlds System, or AWS for short." The girl said, the impatience in her voice clear as day.

System? Like in a web novel? This just keeps getting more interesting by the second. It's the most interesting dream I have ever had. An Anime System no less, like in all of those fan fiction I have read on webnovel. This is definitely the best dream ever, no contest. I wonder if I will become overpowered and have a harem in less than 20 chapters too! Ha, as if... that type of pacing only ruins the novel. I should ask her some questions though otherwise, I might miss something.

"How does this system work? Am I still on Earth? Did I die and I'm being reincarnated into another world with it, like in an Isekai, or am I just being transmigrated into another world instead? Am I supposed to defeat some kind of demon lord or something?" I ask her.

"What? No, you aren't dead, you idiot! You can access the system whenever you want but until you die on this earth, your mind is the only thing being transported into another world. The body you have in that world is created by the system and reflects the nature of that world so you can blend in properly, such as you having a chakra network if you went to the world of Naruto and Boruto, though your appearance will remain the same unless you purposefully change it. As for defeating a maou, that only happens if you want to kill one otherwise you will only have to complete quests set by the system that are designed to give you the best experience possible." She explained

Is she serious! I need to get more sleep from now on because this is the weirdest dream I have ever had. She's still blurred in the light too! I can't tell what Ai-chan looks like. Huh, never thought that I would get the chance to use an honorific like 'chan' with someone's name before. Not unless I ever went to j.a.pan at least. Maybe I should ask her if she is cute? Would that be too weird? Well, this dream is already weird so I might as well try.

"Hey, Ai-chan! Are you really cute? Your voice is really cute, so I was wondering if you were too. After all, I can't see you since you're surrounded in all of that light." I shouted, hoping that she wasn't a major tsundere.

"OF COURSE I AM!" She shouted back, the previously blinding white light gaining a hue of pink "I am a part of the almighty Anime Worlds System! I am the cutest thing to have ever lived. Do you even need to ask? My voice should have given it away. *humph* You're such a dolt, thinking I would be anything but cute!"

Woah, didn't expect such a strong reaction. She's definitely a Himedere with a hint of tsundere added for flavor. Personally, I prefer the kuudere, imouto, or onee-san archetype, but this is nice.

"You're right, the voice gives it all away. I'm sorry for asking, you're definitely the cutest!" I replied, trying to appease this literal dream girl.

"*Humph* Let us move on then. You have a world to choose and I am tired of waiting." She grunted in response. I hope she doesn't stay like this for too long, it won't stay cute forever.
