The Royal High Priest ended his chanting. Then he walked towards the marble floor where holy water from the lake was kept in a marble bowl. He sprinkled some of the water upon himself. Then he sprinkled its few drops on the Moon G.o.ddess statue and at last on the Book of Names kept on the lectern.

"Come forward my child", he called out for Alyssa with a heavy voice while keeping his face stern.

Alyssa came forward. The priest glanced at her white gown which was covered in dirt and frowned.

Alyssa was walking around the temple basking in the serenity that it was providing. The winter sun s.h.i.+ned upon her face giving her an eternal glow.

"Are you here by yourself?" she turned around to find Elizabeth questioning her making her dumbfounded.

'Should I be rude to her? or should I behave casually? But Xander had said that she is nice. So, should I…' her thoughts were interrupted when she felt a tug in her hands.

Getting no immediate response from Alyssa Elizabeth frowned but she soon adjusted her expressions and held her hand intimately. Alyssa felt uncomfortable around her. Elizabeth's long nails and the gems attached to her fan were p.r.i.c.king her skin making her in pain.

"Have you seen the lake" Elizabeth asked once again.

"No. Not yet" Alyssa replied.

"Then we should go together. It is said that the lake is very beautiful." Elizabeth continued. But when she saw Alyssa hesitating she added, "We are going to be a family soon. So, we should try to get along together."

'Is she faking this for Xander' Alyssa thought are searched for Alexander but there was not a single soul present around them. 'Shouldn't she have said sorry for her earlier behavior if she wanted to be in my good book.' Alyssa was busy in her thoughts and when she came back to reality she was standing in front of the lake. The scene was beautiful. The lake was covered by white lotus and many different flowers were present around it. The terrain was beautiful. Alyssa was busy taking in the panorama before her when Elizabeth suddenly pulled herself away from her with force making Alyssa wobble a bit. Alyssa frowned on the pink lady's behavior. She raised her eyebrows in question.

"Oh sorry really sorry. I just saw a wasp pa.s.s above our head and I kind of got scared. Are you okay though?" Elizabeth explained herself in a hurry her face filled with concern.

Her behavior send a red flag on her brains. She knew that she was not that absent-minded of her surrounding that she will not be able to sense a wasp around her.

"I am okay. Thank you" Alyssa replied politely but maintained a distance from her.

"Look a b.u.t.terfly!" Elizabeth exclaimed pointing at a particular direction with her fan. She shoulder b.u.mped Alyssa to attract her attention. And it was then her beautiful fan fell on the muddy ground beside the lake.

"Oh no! It was new and so costly. I ruined it." Elizabeth spoke with tears in her eyes and her voice broke at the end. She then looked towards Alyssa tear-eyed and said, "Will you please pick up my fan for me. If I will bend to pick it up, the rim of my dress will get dirty."

They were standing at the perimeter of the lake on wet soil. Alyssa released a long breath and arched to pick the fan. It was then she felt a thrust on her body. She stumbled but arched her body a little to prevent herself from falling in the lake. But the thrust was powerful so she wasn't able to regain her balance and fell on the wet soil completely ruining her wight gown. She looked towards Elizabeth and saw her panicked face.

"You did it on purpose didn't you? You wanted me to push in the lake, didn't you?" Alyssa growled.

Elizabeth's face turned pale when her petty scheme got exposed but she regained her composure and said, "Can you prove it. you little vermin. Huh!" with this she walked away leaving Alyssa on the ground.

"Fold your arms in front of your heart and pray with me," the high priest said.

Alyssa folded her arms in front of her chest and started praying.

After the end of the prayer, the high priest took a marble spatula and collected the water from the marble bowl and said, "Drink this holy water my child" Alyssa cupped her palms and drank the water.

"Kneel before the G.o.ddess and repeat this prayer after me," The high priest said.
