27 Hitting Viole

Their cafeteria was divided into two parts. One end serves the 'general food menu', called 'General Food Counter' that was cheap. It had your everyday food items. The quality of the food was a bit coa.r.s.e and was available to the general student body of the school.

But on the other hand, on the opposite wall of the 'General Food Counter' was the high-end counter called the 'Privileged Counter' it contains the general food menu as well as high-end dishes served in many famous restaurants. But the taste and materials used for the 'general food menu' of 'Privileged Counter' was way better than that of GFC. The items were carefully picked and elegantly made. The price difference between the two was huge too.

So, due to this the sitting arrangement of the 'poor students' that usually can afford dishes from GFC and the 'privileged ones' were different too. The 'poor groups' had to sit around their own counter and the 'rich groups' preferably sit around their own counter making a clear invisible line right in the middle of the hall. None of the 'poor group' had ever went towards the other side to sit and have their food.

Dianna, Kale, and Marcus were not that poor that they can't afford the 'high-priced' food but they were able to afford it daily. In addition to this, they befriended Alyssa who was the poorest among the poor so obviously they rolled down to the 'poor people' list.

Alyssa made her way towards the Privileged Counter. Marcus had asked her to buy the most expensive food item on the list and she had no idea what that item was.

Just as she crossed the middle line to go to the other side the whole cafeteria fell silent. Each and every eye was on her. They knew a drama was soon to take place so everybody was watching her like a hawk. Alyssa felt uncomfortable under their stares so she kept her head down and allowed her hairs to cover her face from both sides.

She was going towards the counter as fast as she could to place her order. She didn't notice that somebody had placed their foot right in her way to trip her. Alyssa stumbled and hold the table to steady herself.

"G.o.d Alyssa! Open your mind", she berated herself. It was way too foolish for her that she would fall and harm herself just by these petty 80s pranks.

Obviously the girl that tried to trip her felt upset because she didn't fall.

"Peasant", the girl mocked. Alyssa ignored her and walked towards the counter, making the girl more upset.

Violet was sitting on the very same table with the girl called, Martha. Martha was her lackey, so she felt angry when Alyssa ignored Martha. It was insulting to her.

She swept her hands over the table, making all the cutleries fall on the ground, breaking them.

Alyssa ignored the commotion taking place behind her back and concentrated on finding the highest priced food item on the menu. "Fast Alyssa, get out of their zone." She was chanting it on and on like a mantra. It was not that she was afraid of Violet. What she really wanted was to avoid another trouble that was going to take place on the same day and obviously due to the same person.

Violet was angry the whole day. Her plan of kicking Alyssa out of the school had failed. But she was comforting herself saying that at least she got her wounded. But now seeing Alyssa her anger resurfaced.

"How could this peasant ignore me? Doesn't she really wanted to live?" Violet thought.

By that time Alyssa had found the costliest item on the menu and ordered it. Her voice sounded pretty loud in the silent cafeteria.

"Aster's Almas caviar " everybody sucked their breath. It was the costliest item on the menu. It was around 45 dollars. Violet was startled too because all her 18 years of studying there she hadn't even once tasted that delicacy. She had been saving her pocket money to order that dish.

It was the costliest dish so if someone buys it, he would brag about it. The people that had bought this dish since the opening of this school could be counted in a single hand. So, obviously the students knew that Violet had never bought that dish. Everybody's gaze landed on her. She felt her ego hurting under their gaze.

"Parvenu", Violet called out loud.

Alyssa's hand that was about to draw her bank card stopped and she turned around.

Getting Alyssa's attention, Violet smirked. Her ego-boosting up. She slowly walked towards Alyssa swaying her hips. Her red slittoes heels making sound on the marble floor. She kept a meter distance between herself and Alyssa and twirled her hair on her fingers speaking, "So a lowly peasant is trying to be rich."

"Where did you get so much, money peasant? Hurry up and tell us."

Alyssa became very angry. She spoke, "First, this is none of your business. And second, I am not the person flaunting someone else parent's money."

As soon as she spoke this, the whole cafeteria hooted at the same time. Alyssa smirked.

Violet felt her face burning. She felt somebody slapping her or stripping her in front of the whole crowd.

This topic was a sore spot for Violet that's why she hated Alyssa so much. Alyssa's existence was a constant reminder to her that she was adopted and she is s.n.a.t.c.hing away someone else family.

"Why are you hiding from where you get that money? Of course, peasants like you have to sell their body to get two meals a day."

Alyssa was stunned. The whole cafeteria started whispering pointing at Alyssa. Dianna, Kale and, Marcus got from their respective seats and went towards Alyssa.

Seeing Alyssa pale, Violet thought she had hit the right spot. She laughed and said, "Why sister, now where is your little att.i.tude? Did I disclosed something? Was it your first time or second or….

Thump!!!

Alyssa threw a plate kept in the counter table towards Violet directly hitting her on her head.

The whole cafeteria fell silent. All eyes landed on Alyssa once again.
