An enormous thanks to Sae for graciously offering to do this chapter and the next (chap 90) after hearing that my team has "left" me :3.

Some people wondered if Han Dong's story Feng Mang will be a cartoon after watching this video. However, I believe those is not the case. They probably released an animated version because they haven't found the right actor yet.

Rumour has it that Chai Ji Dan has found one of the main actors for 19 Days by Old Xian. He actually sang one of AB's OSTs :3 hehe.

************

Once the week came to an end, Xia Yao received his wage along with a year-end bonus. As expected, the first thing he did was charge toward the supermarket, purchasing every kind of snacks and local specialties. This time, he intentionally scanned over the nutritional facts on the packages, making sure to completely ignore all the snacks with no nutrition and opting to buy all the healthy and discounted ones instead.

At first, Xia Yao wanted to prepare everything for Yuan Zong, but seeing that there were still a few days left before he leaves, he decided to place it in his office instead. However, once he completed his mission and was about to head back to work, his mouth suddenly felt bland, an indication for him to eat something to fix this dire situation. His eyes swept towards the three extremely packed bags, thinking that eating a bag wouldn't matter, right? As a result, his hand dug into one of the bag searching around, and once he picked out something he loved to eat, he pulled it out with satisfaction.

That night, when Xia Yao had to work overtime, he felt a bit hungry and didn't want to go out and stand in line just to buy food or get takeout.

What now? Okay......

Once again, his claws reached for those three big bags of delicious snack before he felt around until he grasped something. When he pulled it out for a look he thought, Yuan Zong wouldn't necessarily eat this! Whatever, I'll help him lessen his burden.

The next day, there was still a strange craving in his mouth yet again. Without any other option, he 'forced' himself to pick out two items from the bag but even after eating six items, his craving lingered and he ate the other remaining items. In this way, his breakfast was resolved thanks to the snacks from that bag, before noon arrived he had a packet of candied fruit as an appetizer and lunch, he took out two packets of hawthorns to amuse his stomach. But even before dinner started, he still could not keep his mouth from moving......

Just like that, Xia Yao sneakily pilfered the snacks, and after pilfering for three days straight, he suddenly discovered that there was no food at all in one of the bag!

Shit! I have to quickly take it to him...... thought Xia Yao, if not, there won't be anymore.

Yuan Zong couldn't help but stare in astonishment when Xia Yao placed two big bags full of food on his desk.

"Snacks for the road," said Xia Yao.

Looking at the bag then at Xia Yao, Yuan Zong simply laughed, "I'm only on the plane for a little over two hours, why did you buy so much for me?"

"You can take it home and eat it! Isn't it a far and poor mountain region over there? Even if someone wanted to buy these, they would need to walk at least a few miles, and all the small stalls only sell rice or oily noodles, nothing that's appetizing."

Yuan Zong pulled Xia Yao's hand over and gripped it tightly before letting his tender gaze look over him.

"Those stories I told you was from when I was younger, now it's gone."

In truth, Yuan Zong had long forgotten from when had he mentioned the hardships and hunger he faced in his childhood to Xia Yao, nor did he expect the person in front of him to be thinking about it since then.

The feeling of Xia Yao being afraid that he would not be able to eat what he wanted made Yuan Zong feel as though, no amount of honor can replace this sense of satisfaction.

"Oh."

Xia Yao appeared disappointed as he replied. If he had known earlier, he would have eaten it all!

"But, what you bought are really all things I've never had before and we probably don't sell it there either," said Yuan Zong.

"Really?" Xia Yao was cured in a flash, "There are also those, you have to bring it all with you."

Yuan Zong followed Xia Yao's gaze and saw four large boxes completely packed without even a hint of space. There were only some branding and numbers on the surface, all of which were specialty goods. Yuan Zong walked over to take a look at it, at the very least it was 200kg.

"How did you manage to get it all here?" he asked Xia Yao.

Xia Yao said, "I carried it!"

"By yourself?"

"Yeah, it's not that heavy."

Touched simple action, Yuan Zong became speechless for a moment before he flicked his Xia Yao's forehead, "Why are you so stupid?"

Thinking that Yuan Zong disliked that the items were heavy and an inconvenient for the trip, he quickly said, "You can check it in but if that doesn't work, it's fine to send it too. It won't be expired anyways! There are piles as high as a mountain of New Year's goods at my house every year. It's a waste if we don't eat it all. It'll be good if you take it back and eat it or you can give it to your relatives and say it's a small gift of kindness from me."

Since this sweet little brat was being so considerate, what reason does Yuan Zong have to not accept it?

"On the day you leave, I'll take you. That way, I can help you move it too," said Xia Yao naturally.

Yuan Zong countered, "It's fine, I can move it."

A wicked smile blossomed on Xia Yao's lips as some thoughts crowded his mind.

"You can use your 'kingly gun' and 'unparalleled golden balls' of yours to carry it. You know, it can increase your sexual performance."

Hearing that, Yuan Zong pinched the smalls of Xia Yao's waist, "I want to pick you up and carry you back right now."

"Hahaha......"

When Xia Yao returned home that night and saw his mother staring blankly at a pile of gifts, he couldn't help but quicken his steps toward his bedroom.

"Son!"

In just a second, Xia Yao's footstep immediately cease before he twisted his head to the side to look at Mrs. Xia with a smile.

"Mom, what's going on?"

Mrs. Xia said, "Didn't your unit send anything over this year?"

"They did!" Xia Yao pointed toward Mrs. Xia, "Isn't it all there?"

"I'm not talking about these. I mean, doesn't your unit send you some other things every year?"

"Oh, you're talking about that."

Xia Yao resorted to vaguely report, "I didn't receive it this year! Maybe the higher-ups checked more seriously and won't allow special treatment." (No, mother Xia, he used it to seduce his boy :3)

Mrs. Xia's brows wrinkled together, expressing her suspicions, "That can't be. We also received one less box. How come there's no bacon? You know, the one from last year that I praised was really delicious and could last until May without losing its flavor. I really like the taste of it. Tell me, why aren't there any this year?"

Trying his best to keep his eyes on her, Xia Yao feigned confusion, "How can the same thing be sent every year, huh?"

"But the truth is still the truth, there's still one less box of goods! They didn't send that or replace it with something else?"

Xia Yao maintained the same attitude, "The policy regarding this is stricter as to save on expenses."

Without bothering to say anything else, Mrs. Xia got up and went to another room.

Seeing her leave, Xia Yao let out a huge sigh of relief, having a mother with fierce and perceptive eyes is truly disastrous.

What the heck...in spite of there being so many things, she actually remembered each one of it. Fortunately, I managed to fool her......

Just as he pushed his door open and was about to go in, Mrs. Xia's loud and clear voice rang toward him from the room next door.

"Xia Yao, what happened to the Zhongnanhai [1] cigarette box that your Third Uncle sent?"

[1] Zhongnanhai- "Central and Southern Sea" is a formerly imperial garden in the Imperial City, Beijing, China adjacent to the Forbidden City; it serves as the central headquarters for the Communist Party of China and the State Council (Central government) of China, and also houses the office of the President of the People's Republic of China.

As his eyes widened and slowly swept toward the voice, Xia Yao suddenly quiver and once he heard Mrs. Xia's footsteps clanged closer to him, he quickly changed his expression to one full of loss and devastation instead.

"I don't knowwwww! Whatdo you mean Zhongnanhai?"

Mrs. Xia's cheeks flushed with urgency, "I placed it in the cabinet before I cooked this afternoon. I remember it clearly! The house keeper wasn't around the house during this period either. Tell me, did you steal and smoked it all?!"

"I never smoke that brand. I only smoke the Yuxi brand." Xia Yao pulled out a packet of cigarette and waved it in front of Mrs. Xia, "Besides, if I really want to smoke it, I would have done so honestly. What use is there for me to steal it?" (The only thing that I dislike from CJD's novels is probably the fact that her characters smoked. Luckily, this isn't portrayed in her movies ^^)

Mrs. Xia also had the same thought. It's her son after all, how can she not know him. Xia Yao would never do something like this.

"Maybe when you went for a walk, a thief came in," said Xia Yao with conviction, "During the end of the year, theft is always quite high. Recently, we also seized someone because of this. Let alone, where we live is also a key location in this district."

Mrs. Xia let out a regrettable sigh, "I really want to chop that lowly bastard's arm off!"

Her words immediately caused Xia Yao to choke on his saliva before he dejectedly scurried to his room.

At night, Xia Yao played with the small toy house that Yuan Zong had given to him alone in his room. With Yuan Zong leaving the day after tomorrow, and thinking that he had not gone home in more than three years, Xia Yao decided not to go over and disturb him for the next two days so that he can be in good spirit.

There's tomorrow, and the final day then after that he has to bid farewell to the amazingly skilled cook, highly talented with a huge manhood Northeastern man!

He really didn't want to part!

Xia Yao pulled the little figurine of him out of the house and clenched it tightly it with all his strength, it was really sturdy. Now, seeing that the little guy was only wearing underpants, exposing a flirtatious appearance, Xia Yao no longer felt embarrassed. On the contrary, he conceitedly admired it instead, and the longer he looked at it, the more handsome it seemed.

Not too far from Xia Yao's window, Yuan Zong was quietly standing beneath a tree with the moonlight casting obliquely toward him, creating a long and narrow silhouette.

As Xia Yao sat down and leaned against the window. The slight smile that hooked at the corner of his mouth and his handsome appearance was taken in like a panoramic view by Yuan Zong. Yuan Zong can't draw. He doesn't like to take pictures. All he could simply do was use his sharp eyes to engrave this scene deeply into his mind and let it accompany him during the cold and lonely thirty days or more ahead. (Awwwww T_T, my heart hurts :( )

A cigarette butt tumbled beneath the tree before the wind blew sand over, quietly burying it completely.

While at work the next afternoon, Xia Yao repeatedly stared at his watch, suffering through the slowly moving time that tick without a care for his mindset. It was almost time to get off work. He could finally go over to Yuan Zong and fool around with him for a few hours, then eat the last meal of the year together. But in the end, an order came through. A suspect that has been hunted for many days has finally made an appearance, the police force need to quickly go and catch him.

With that, Xia Yao could only carry his gun and get into the police car.

After lying in ambush in the thickly snow covering ground for more than three hours, the criminal was successfully capture.

By now, darkness has already reigned. Xia Yao quickly returned to his unit and without giving time to change out of his uniform, he hurriedly left the scene.

Having spent such a long time in the snow, Xia Yao's hands were frozen and stiff, therefore, while driving his grips on the steering wheel was not steady since his hands trembled the entire time.

When Xia Yao arrived at Yuan Zong's company a little after nine o'clock, the entrance was locked. Thinking that Yuan Zong had returned home to pack his things, Xia Yao called him right on the spot.

"You didn't wait for me! Fine, I won't go see you off tomorrow. You can fucking leave by yourself!"

Yuan Zong looked at the vast expanse of snow from outside of the car window and said, "I'm already at my hometown."

Xia Yao was stunned to the point his eyes slightly widened before he hesitantly asked, "What did you say?"

"The flight was scheduled for today."

Hearing those five words, Xia Yao's entire being crumbled, "But you definitely told me it was tomorrow!"

"I didn't want you to see me off," said Yuan Zong.

Xia Yao's face remained tightened for a long while then he faced the phone and bellowed in rage.

"You motherfucker!"

Afterwards, Xia Yao ruthlessly threw the cellphone on the seat, stepped on the throttle and sped off.

***********

My heart breaks for both Xia Yao and Yuan Zong .

Okay, so when I started translating, I felt so happy to have received the readers' support and love, this has been keeping me strong during this entire year! You guys have me strength to translate, to fight for AB's rights when it was reported. All of this is so meaningful to me.

However, recently, there has been some particular cases where people just don't realise what is known as LIMITATIONS. Let me remind you, I may be an 18 years old girl (just turned 18 few days a go actually :3), but I can be a nasty ass bitch when you mess with me, my team, CJD's books, or especially the readers! So PLEASE back off.

One more thing, I know that being a translator means you have to accept the fact that some people are going to take your work unknowingly and upload the content to different platforms. Although I'm "okay" with that, please have the heart to notifying and give credits before doing so, because it really hurts that your work isn't being acknowledged correctly. Stealing is a no no.

Recently, I heard that some people have been "taking over" current translations of big translating houses without asking in advance. I know that there are no written rules stating that you can't do this, but it is an "unspoken rule" among translators that it is not the greatest thing to do because it does feel like a backstab to us (one of the reason why Sae and I have decided to NOT do Feng Mang after finding out that sbd was already on it because we RESPECT all translators). Please have conscience. If this ever happens to me, I won't be as nice as some of my colleagues who have continued translating or kept their work online, but I'll go all out bitchy mode and delete this translation.

Hehe, just a little gloomy sharing time after a heartfelt departure from Yuan Zong ^^.

Love,

Ann
