Chapter 479 - Could You Please Return?

Chapter 479: Could You Please Return?

Tang Mo’er was restraining the golden retriever with one hand and tugging her skirt from its mouth with the other hand.

She was about to retrieve her skirt and rejoice in her accomplishment, when the golden retriever exerted its strength and pulled the skirt away from her with a forceful bite that almost ripped her skirt off.

Why was this happening to her?

Tang Mo’er wanted to cry but no tears came. Did this naughty dog belong to Mr Gu? It was already enough that Mr Gu was bullying her. Now, even his dog was bullying her too.

“Golden Fur, let’s have an agreement. You release my skirt, and I’ll take you to eat something nice. How about some yummy meat!”

Woof woof woof!

“You don’t want to eat meat, Golden Fur? How about this? I will get to know many pretty female golden fur dogs and introduce you to one someday. How about that?”

Woof woof woof!

The golden retriever was barking and pulling her skirt forcefully at the same time. In no time, her skirt had slid beneath her lower abdomen, and her delicate skin was exposed. She would be naked if this continued.

What should she do?

What could she do?

Tang Mo’er was at the brink of insanity. At this moment, her bright eyes lit up. She could call Gu Mohan.

After all, he should take responsibility for his dog!

At the Chinese restaurant.

At the table near the window, Gu Mohan pulled out the chair with the air of a gentleman. Jun Xiyan thanked him gracefully with a smile.

Gu Mohan raised his eyebrows and sat opposite her.

At this time, the waiter walked over and handed them the menu. “Sir, Madam, here is the menu.”

Gu Mohan took the menu. His well-defined fingers flipped the pages of the menu, but did not manage to find what he was looking for.

Jun Xiyan drank some tea and looked up at Gu Mohan. “Mohan, what dish are you looking for?”

What dish was he looking for?

Gu Mohan’s long fingers paused for a moment. He seemed to be looking for a particular dish, but he had forgotten what dish it was exactly.

It seemed like there was someone who liked to eat this dish.

Had he personally cooked for this person before?

However, he was unable to recollect anything. The elusive memory seemed to dart just out of reach. What was it?

Gu Mohan pa.s.sed the menu to Jun Xiyan and said gently, “You can order.”

“Alright.” Jun Xiyan flipped through the menu and ordered a few dishes.

She ordered Gu Mohan’s favorite dishes.

Actually they were not his favorites as he preferred bland food. Both of them had eaten together several times, and she had taken note of his preferences.

Gu Mohan’s deep and narrow eyes landed on Jun Xiyan’s face. This woman was intelligent, beautiful, graceful and came from a prestigious family. When they were together, she would exhibit the shyness of a young girl. She was good in controlling the tempo in their relations.h.i.+p.

This was also the reason he had chosen her.

Jun Xiyan was an ideal candidate to be his wife. In the future, she could help him manage relations.h.i.+ps with the wives of other prestigious men. He was already thirty years old this year, and he needed a woman by his side. Amongst all the women that he had interacted with, he was most pleased with Jun Xiyan, and that was why he had chosen her.

But, did he like Jun Xiyan?

What did it mean to like someone?

All he knew was that his heart did not palpitate when he faced Jun Xiyan, as the novels would typically describe someone in love. Truth be told, he had never experienced this kind of feeling towards any of the women he knew.

But what did it matter? He did not need to like someone.

For a person like him, of such a high societal status, to like someone was something that he did not need.

He knew what he wanted. He wanted to marry a suitable wife. He did not need to like her to be able to grow old with her.

A melodious cell phone ring tone sounded. He had an incoming phone call.

He whipped out his cell phone and answered. “h.e.l.lo.”

“h.e.l.lo, Mr Gu, could you please return home?” A soft but urgent voice was heard from the other line.

It was Tang Mo’er.

Images of Tang Mo’er’s enchanting face appeared in Gu Mohan’s mind. He thought about the way she looked at him and his eyebrows furrowed as he asked in a low voice, “What’s the matter?”

“Of course it’s something or I wouldn’t be calling you. Your golden retriever is biting my skirtーAh!” There was a shrill cry from the other end of the line.

Gu Mohan’s handsome face suddenly became serious. His well-defined palm subconsciously gripped his phone tightly and he called out her name almost instinctively, “Tang Mo’er!”

The phone on the other line hung up and all he could hear was a ‘duut duut’ of the ended call.

“Mohan, why did you…”

Jun Xiyan had not completed her sentence. Gu Mohan abruptly stood up. “Xiyan, something has happened at home. Let’s cancel the date tonight.”

After speaking, he left before she could respond.

Jun Xiyan stared at this man’s series of actions in shock. He had stood up and walked out of the main door immediately after receiving that call. She peered through the floor-to-ceiling windows and saw him striding towards his Rolls-Royce Phantom and in a matter of seconds, the luxury car sped away.

He had left.

He disappeared from sight, just like that.

Jun Xiyan withdrew her gaze. The name that he was calling in his low voice still reverberated in her ears – Tang Mo’er.

Why had he left for this Tang Mo’er?

A tinge of disappointment flashed across Jun Xiyan’s eyes. Hadn’t he forgotten Tang Mo’er? But perhaps, he himself had not realized that when Tang Mo’er was in trouble, he was more anxious than anyone else.

The words that he uttered just now and his footsteps had already revealed the anxiety in his subconscious mind.

They were two people who were so in love. Was it true that he really did not love Tang Mo’er anymore? Not even the slightest bit?

By now, the tea had already gone cold, but Jun Xiyan still drank a mouthful. She was still willing to wait and fight it out. It was worth it for a man like Gu Mohan.

Whoever became his wife would be happy for life.

He was worth it.

Chateau du Breuil.

Gu Mohan entered the villa and swiftly went upstairs. He placed his large palm on the doork.n.o.b and pushed open the door to the guest room.

“Bluse, come here!”

The golden retriever was named Bluse. He had only left home for a little while. How had it wrecked havoc already?

Bluse heard its master’s voice and turned its head to look at Gu Mohan. Woof woof woof.

Gu Mohan looked at the white muslin skirt in Bluse’s mouth and his eyes darkened. It had tugged down the skirt from Tang Mo’er’s body.

Gu Mohan frowned and brought his palm to his forehead.

His deep and narrow eyes looked ahead. In the faint yellow room, a delicate figure was hiding by the curtains guardedly, not daring to move an inch.

“Mr Gu, are you back?”

At this moment, a fair hand reached over and lifted the curtains.

Gu Mohan’s dark eyes narrowed. The girl was clad only in a white s.h.i.+rt, and there was a pink lacy underwear the size of a palm beneath the s.h.i.+rt. Her long skirt had been pulled off, and her slender legs were exposed for all to see. Her legs were so slender and fair that they dazzled one’s eyes. Her fair knee still had a wound on it.

His muscular torso felt numb and his throat went dry.

Tang Mo’er was aware that he was looking at her and she recoiled. Squeezing her legs together, she hid even deeper behind the curtains.

She did not have any of her clothes here and the golden retriever was still staring at her like he would pounce on her if she moved even an inch.

And thus, she had been hiding here for a long time.

Tang Mo’er’s bright eyes looked at the handsome figure standing by the door. She felt embarra.s.sed and aggrieved at the same time. Her eyes were s.h.i.+mmering like the stars in the sky. “Mr Gu, could you please remove this golden retriever of yours?”

Woof woof woof!

Tang Mo’er had just finished her sentence, and Bluse was already complaining to its master. Bluse had quite a strong character. To express its anger, it immediately lunged towards Tang Mo’er.

“Ah!”

Tang Mo’er let out a strangled cry.
